Mick is a lone wolf in all ways. He’s left his pack, he’s left his homelands and he’s on the road, footloose and fancy free. Well, at least until he wanders up to a fence and finds a little wolf running his ass off behind it. Mick stops to let the pup out and is stunned to hear the young wolf, Scotty, tell him “no”. Scotty's mate and best friend, Danny, asked Scotty to stay behind the fence, so he will be safe while Danny fights to support them both. All this leaves Mick’s fur standing on end. Maybe, Mick doesn’t need one mate to bring him home. Maybe, he needs two.

Excerpt:
He dropped his wolf form as soon as he was out of sight, his body lengthening into a biped. “Dude, why are you in a cage?”
The pup yelped and scrambled back, leaping onto the porch.
“Hey, I’m not here to hurt you. I can open the gate.”
The pup looked at him then boom, a lovely lean man stood there, shaggy blond hair curling around his face. “H-hey.”
“Hi. Would you like to run? I can get you out.” God, the kid was adorable and plenty old enough to play.
“Oh. Oh, no. Daniel would be so mad at me for getting out again.” Eyes the color of brandy caught the sun. “Daniel says I’ll get hurt, lost.”
“Does Daniel mistreat you?” Because Mick could beat someone down just for fun.
“Daniel? My Daniel?” The pup’s laugh was happy, joyous, the look on his face fond and warm. “Oh, no. Daniel loves me. He works for both of us. He brings me half his food every day. He’s a good mate. We… The Alpha said ‘too many males’, and we… Daniel pays for this home, he brushes me, he works all day every day.”
“Do you work?” Mick tilted his head, waiting, nodding in sympathy. Damn, it was hard for bachelor males to manage when thrust out on their own, especially ones who needed an alpha as much as this one did. It seemed like the kid barely held it together, at least on two legs. Sweet baby.
“I paint. I paint pictures, and I wash Daniel’s uniforms. I… I get… He follows rules better than me, and he can stop a shift, if he needs to. He can even work during the moon.”
Mick smiled, liking this kid a lot. “What’s your name, honey?”
“Scott. Scott Miller. What’s yours?”
Scott. It worked.
“I’m Mick Eagleheart. I like your belly. I kinda want to lick it.”

Book Spotlight~ Lucy Felthouse's The Other Brother

Calendar Men: Mr June – The Other Brother by Lucy Felthouse (@cw1985)

Photographer Melodie Carr moved to New York City to escape and make a fresh start. Her soldier fiancé was killed in a friendly-fire incident in Iraq, and she has been struggling to come to terms with it ever since. She still feels strongly about needless death and those left behind, so when she sees a call for photographs for a calendar of topless men, with profits going to the Hero Family Fund, she’s eager to help out. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know any men that fit the profile, so she gives up on the idea. That is, until Patrick Brogan—her late fiance’s brother—turns up in New York. Seeing him brings up all kinds of memories, but she’s determined to push them aside and be friends with Patrick. She also realizes he’d be perfect for the calendar. But can she persuade him to take part?

Excerpt:
Melodie Carr reluctantly clicked delete on the e-mail with a disappointed sigh. She couldn’t contribute to the charity calendar for the Hero Family Fund, a cause very close to her heart, because she didn’t know anyone suitable to photograph. Although her photography work varied—from children to pets, landscapes to portraits, she’d done a bit of everything—she got the impression the call for calendar models sought hunky guys to create a collection to make women swoon. Unfortunately, she didn’t work with professional models and therefore had to give up on the idea. A cute dog, something she had plenty of images of, simply wouldn’t cut it.
She might not be able to contribute, but resolved to find out when the calendar would be available and do her bit to help by buying a few copies. Some eye candy on her wall would definitely not go amiss, and her friends Poppy, Lola and Charis, and her grandmother, Joyce, would no doubt appreciate it. She grinned. Joyce, always good fun, said, there’s no such thing as too much eye candy. The saucy old broad.
Her smile faded. She missed her, having not been back to Boston to see her friends and family for a while. She should ask Joyce to come and visit her in New York—she hadn’t traveled much, and would love the hustle and bustle, the endless opportunities to people watch. Maybe Melodie and the rest of the family could buy her a ticket for her birthday. She’d have to give it some thought. It sure would be nice see a familiar face, other than via Skype.
Someone pressed the buzzer to her apartment and she sighed again. It was probably a delivery driver trying to get into the building. It wouldn’t even be a package for her.
Taking her time getting to the intercom, she hoped whoever it was would go away. No such luck—the buzzer squawked again. She inhaled deeply, trying to rein in her annoyance and avoid being rude or abrupt.
“Hello?”
“Hi,” a male voice said. “Are you Melodie? Melodie Carr?”
“I am.” A caller looking for her? Had she ordered something and forgotten about it? “Who’s calling?”
“It’s Patrick,” the voice replied. “Patrick Brogan.”
“Patrick….” Speechless, she laid a hand on the wall to steady herself as the bottom dropped out of her world. Evidently, running to New York—albeit under the pretense of a good career move—hadn’t been enough. Her past still followed her, still tried to flood her with reminders of what she’d lost.
“Melodie?”
Damn, the man’s persistent. She never should have admitted her identity before asking his. She could have told him he’d gotten the wrong place and sent him away.

Introducing Tabitha Rayne

Hi Dawn, thank you so much for having me here at your place. I love that you're addicted to reading – one of the good ones :D I think I am addicted to writing – it can get out of hand when I haven't had my 'fix' of tapping those keys – however, the worst thing is when I have nothing to write – when my head is blank and I have writer's block – that  is when I realise that actually, it is a real addiction! I get grumpy, frustrated and feel ill at ease. It isn't just a case of, oh well, I'll just go do something else then – when you need to write, nothing can fill in those blanks. I do manage times of word drought with some drawing – so thank goodness my creative demon can be appeased a little with that, and thankfully, I haven't had both of writing and drawing dessert me at the same time... yet *crosses fingers*.

In my new book, The Meeting Point, addictions are a luxury that nobody can afford. It is set in a dystopian future and is the final book in my erotic fantasy trilogy, The Clockwork butterfly. My characters are living in a hostile austere environment where love is the only thing that gets them through. So perhaps, in a way, love, sex and that spiritual union is an addiction to them – or is it simply survival? When does an addiction become essentail to your survival and vice-versa?

Anyway – that's got me thinking... *wanders off*

I thought that to entice you to follow my tour, I'd put consecutive excerpts every day. Here is the very last ;) It's the point where three of my leading characters must leave behind material things and make their escape into the wilderness...

The Meeting Point excerpt – The final book in The Clockwork Butterfly trilogy

They stopped dead at the threshold of the main entrance.

“Those bastards,” exclaimed Angelo, but there was a smile on his face.

Lena pushed past him to see Mae slump to her knees. “They took the damn horses!” she said, dragging items out of her bags and discarding them. “Well, there goes my life in riches. We can’t possibly carry all this.”

Lena rifled through her own bags and hauled out some of the pretty things she’d taken when her eyes had been full of lust for such treasures. It seemed strange now to be so greedy for things not essential to their survival. They had no idea where they were headed. Who knew, they may have to camp in a forest somewhere. Lena shivered at the thought. She’d become too used to the opulence of The Wasp’s boudoir and fine things. She pulled out a silver candlestick and matching silver hairbrush and mirror set.

“Ahem.” Angelo cocked an eyebrow and stood with his hand on his hip, mocking her frivolity.

“I know, I know, but look at them. They’re gorgeous.”

Mae looked equally unimpressed as she threw down some heels and a jet encrusted corset.

“Wait,” said Lena, picking up the garment. “Can’t we keep this?” Her mind was cast back to The Wasp, beautifully strapped in and tiny, wearing this very piece. Lena had even worn it on occasion and it had made her feel glorious.

“It’s pretty heavy,” Angelo reasoned, and Lena had to admit it was true. They might have a long way to go and she didn’t want her arms aching unnecessarily. Reluctantly, she placed the corset amongst the reject pile and sorted through the other things. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Mae squirrel something away, something that didn’t look very small either. A delicious tingle ran through her as she thought about what the item might be.

Stowing the things away as best they could under the one straggly bush in the courtyard, the trio were at last ready to leave.

“Shouldn’t we let some of the other prisoners free, Angelo?”

Guilt crossed his face, but left as quickly as it came.

“No,” he said determinedly. “We have no time. Come on.”

The three of them finally made it out of the heavy iron gates and approached the acres of moorland beyond.

“Okay.” Mae stepped forward, placing her hands on her hips, and Lena admired her rounded bottom through the draped finery. She was a woman who suited such garments. “Where to?”

The high from the actual escape began to ebb away, leaving Lena with a quiet, empty feeling. Where would they go? Gnawing doubt and fear for their future on the run began to weigh down on her, and she feared she had actually become institutionalized. Just as she was about to tell the others, something came toward them through the sunset orange sky. Lena squinted, her gaze following the erratic bat-like flight of the creature. Her heart skipped a little as she realized what it was. The clockwork butterfly she’d given The Wasp landed a little haphazardly on her upturned palm.

“Look,” she called to Mae and Angelo as she discovered the tiny note poked into the creature’s belly.

“What does it say?” Angelo asked as he picked it out of Lena’s grasp.

“Join us.”...

Blurb – The Meeting Point

A story of love, freedom, and the future of mankind. Deborah Regan has broken free from the prison where she’s been unjustly held for the past eight years. The scale of the devastation to the land outside is overwhelming. Toxins have taken hold, and the planet is dying. Deborah vows to find her lover Marcus and flee to the safety of the hills where their story first began.

Marcus is one of the few remaining men left on earth, and Deborah finds him held captive at a pleasure farm where he is kept to service rich and powerful women. Escape for him is complex and dangerous. They can only hope that the trio who helped Deborah before will come to their aid. Marcus has heard from his clients over the years of a mythical place with its own microclimate that toxin clouds seem to miss. He is sure they can find it and will be able to build a future together.

Mae, Lena, and Angelo feel compelled to find Deborah and Marcus who they know have a special connection that might prove essential to their survival. They make haste to track the couple and realize the plan they have chosen is fraught with danger and conflict.

Will they make it to the utopia Marcus dreams of?

Discover What's His Passion? with Bailey Bradford and enter to win a great prize

Totally Bound has a brand new Imprint out, What’s his Passion? and I am thrilled to be a part of it! My contribution is Unexpected Places, a story featuring Carter Hausemann, a man who is passionate about hiking.

To celebrate the launch of What’s his Passion? Totally Bound are giving away a bundle of prizes. Enter here for your chance to win:

Blurb for Unexpected Places:
Love finds you in the most unexpected places.

Carter Hausemann loves his adventures in the great outdoors. He never feels as free and happy as he does when he’s hiking up a mountain or over a desert trail. After a childhood spent locked indoors, he craves the sunlight on his face and the blanket of moonlight.

Unfortunately, he has to work, so his hiking trips aren’t as frequent as he would like.

He has a new adventure planned, but little does he know, his real adventure will start at a worn-down looking club in Odessa, Texas. Carter’s dreams of finding his perfect men will become more than fantasy, starting with one sexy leather-clad man, Eddie Canales. What starts out as a night of debauchery turns into so much more.

Excerpt:

“Are you ready for your trip? This one’s going to be different from your usual day-hikes out here. Think this will be a big adventure?” Becca asked him. She pressed the button for the ground floor.
Carter smiled warmly at her. He liked his boss, was glad to be working on her team. “Hopefully it will be, yeah, though not the get-eaten-by-a-bear kind of adventure. As to being ready, almost. I’m quite excited about the weekend trip exploring parts of Big Bend. I’ve been wanting to see it ever since I moved here.”
“You just have to pack,” Mark added, eyeing him as if gauging whether or not Carter had lied about that.
“Exactly,” Carter agreed. “I was given a list of recommended supplies for the trip after I signed up for it. This’ll be my first weekend hike there. I’ve been all over New Mexico and Colorado.”
Becca turned to him, effectively cutting Mark out of the conversation. “You know, your enthusiasm is inspiring. I think I’ll talk to Lee about taking the kids hiking soon. Plus, the exercise will do us all some good. Let me know what you think about Big Bend.”
Carter nibbled his bottom lip, running through what he did know. The elevator reached the ground floor. The doors opened and Mark hovered. Carter focused on Becca. “After you.”
She started forward and he followed, asking her, “How old are your kids?”
Mark’s annoyed huff was amusing to hear.
Becca waited for Carter. “They’re teenagers, so lots of whining.”
Carter laughed and was relieved to see Mark march past them to the front doors. “Oh come on, I bet they aren’t that bad.”
Becca harrumphed and they walked together to the exit. Carter held the door for her, as he would have done for anyone else.
Becca thanked him and their conversation resumed outside in the waning sunlight. “They are. I swear, I don’t remember being so annoying at those ages, but I’m sure my parents would disagree.”

About Bailey
A few things about me…

I am a married to a lovely man who supports everything I do and encourages me to be myself. I am also a mom who spends most of the day writing, either on stories for books or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick to me and be irritating.

And it’s really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I’ll just let y’all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there’s something specific you’d like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio.
