BLURB It’s Christmas Eve, and folk music star Jonas is on his way to the most important gig of his career, the Volksmusik Stadl. Well, he would be if heavy snowfall hadn’t stopped him on the highway. Fritz has to accompany his grandparents to the biggest folk music event in southern Germany, the worst punishment for a metal fan, especially on Christmas Eve. When these two men meet at the concert after-party, sparks fly. Will this Christmas Eve be something special after all?

EXCERPT Lights flashed at the stage, and a man in a dark suit stepped under the spot they created. “Ladies and Gentlemen, we’ll go on air in 60 seconds. Before I wish you all a great evening here at the Volksmusik Stadl, I have an announcement. Jonas Goldbaum couldn’t make it. He is presumably stuck in traffic, but we haven’t been able to reach him. Please excuse that he won’t be singing today.” The man nodded to the camera. “And we’ll go live in three… two… one… Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to this very special Christmas edition of the most famous folk music event in German TV. I’m so happy to welcome you all, and of course, you at home on the TV, to this show. I hope you all have a wonderful evening with our stars. I wish you all a Merry Christmas!” The curtain opened, and the first tones sounded. A female singer raised her voice over the guitar. “I’m standing outside, watching you go, My heart bleeds, my soul is lost, without you…” Why didn’t anyone have mercy on him? Fritz clenched his teeth and tried— unsuccessfully— to tune her out. Ignoring the high notes was impossible. This was going to be a long evening. It was even more awful than he’d anticipated. It was horrible. All these smiling faces, the happy or heartbreak songs, the cameras flashing over the crowd, and he in the middle of it wishing desperately he wasn’t there. Fritz took another sip, imagining it was a beer or something stronger. Two and a fucking half hours later, the moderator finally told them they were done. Finally! Okay, he wished them all a great evening, and how much fun he had, and yada yada yada, but Fritz tuned him out as well, after he’d heard it was over. Now he just had to make it through the after-show party. This was the worst Christmas Eve ever.

  About the Author

cmh

I’m a writer of M/M romance and M/M erotic romance from Germany. I’ve always had stories in my head, but a while ago I allowed them to get out and on paper. Looks like it has been a good decision, although the more stories I write, the more I have in my head. Maybe I’ll have all of them out someday, and there’ll be nothing more to write, but for the next years, I don’t see that coming. When I’m not writing, I spend time with my family (I have the best husband EVER) and try to keep all my animals happy. I also enjoy gardening and cooking, although I’m still looking for someone to clean up afterwards. And, of course, I love reading, whenever I have a quiet moment. Writing and reading is my break from everyday stress and I hope you join me!

Breathless Press Lee Brazil Author Day

Please give a warm welcome to author Lee Brazil as we talk about their release, The Ice King, from Breathless Press.

So tell us about your latest or upcoming release. What is this gem about?
The Ice King is a short office romance about two men who are attracted to one another. It's a boss/secretary story.
How often does your muse distract you from day to day minutiae?
Not as often as I'd like. Maybe the minutiae are louder than they should be sometimes.
If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be?
Um… gosh. I don't really know. Maybe I'd like to be a were of some sort. Perhaps I'd be a were-cat. I could curl up in sunlight and sleep on windowsills.
What do you do when you’re not writing?
Writing is my full time job, so if I'm not actually putting words on the page, I feel like I'm slacking. I work out of my own home, so I cook, clean, do laundry, garden and play with my pets. I'm a big music buff, and a book slut as well, so I do a lot of reading and listening to music. I also am totally addicted to Top Chef, so I watch that frequently.
Are any of your characters like you?
I think all of them are a bit like me. We can't help putting what we know into our stories, you know?
Do you have a favorite quote from any of your book(s)?
Um… I can't think of anything right now! How about this one? I stole it from this really famous guy…
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
If a movie or TV production company chose to produce your books into a series of shows or movies, who would your ideal cast be?
Oh.. another tough one! I'm not very good with the new actors names, but if The Ice King were to be made into a show, I think I'd like Brett Dalton from Marvel Agents of Shield to be Raphael Montaigne, and Elian… I don't know, how about Matthew Atkinson form The Blind Side?

CPA Rafe Montaigne's day is heading downhill fast and he hasn't even had a decent cup of coffee yet. What could make it worse? A secretary in a snit.
CPA Rafe Montaigne's day is heading downhill fast and he hasn't even had a decent cup of coffee yet. What could make it worse? A secretary in a snit.
Elian is efficient, attractive and cold as ice toward his boss, and he has been since Rafe's ex stopped by the office.
Rafe is a sophisticated player, a businessman who knows how to have fun and he's not particular about whether his playmates are male or female.
It seems Elian isn't quite so indiscriminate… What's a boss to do when his secretary won't play nice?
 Teaser:
The clack of computer keys signaled Elian's return to his desk, and Raphael grimaced as he realized he'd have to pass by that judgmental stare, those assessing eyes, to get to his own desk and the coffee. Should have taken the opportunity while the man talked to his plants to dash to his inner sanctum. He'd planned to be early, but one fiasco followed another, and of course, super secretary beat his ass to the office again. He ran a hand through his curly black hair, trying to make sure it was semi neat. Glanced down to check his clothes before he caught himself. Fuck. He was drenched to the skin. There was no way he looked like anything but a drowned rat. Who was the boss anyway?
He pushed open the heavy wood door that boasted Montaigne and Associates - though really, it was just him and Elian - and breezed through to the inner sanctum. The room was blessedly cool after the humid heat of the outdoors, and Elian had turned on the peaceful music he favored. Rafe made to step past Elian, whose gaze was focused on his computer screen.
Immediately the typing stopped, and the long elegant fingers fell into his lap. Rafe found his gaze locked on those hands, such soft, strong hands. Every nail was buffed to the perfect shine, trimmed to the perfect length, shaped by God into a perfect oval of healthy pink. He swallowed. He could nearly feel those nails digging into his muscles, scraping down his back, leaving fiery trails of sensation to burn their way to his groin.
"Your messages." Elian's icy voice jolted him from his fantasy not a moment too soon. Much longer and he would have been embarrassingly aroused, despite the fiasco of his morning.
More bad luck? In the beginning, Elian had addressed him in a much warmer tone. Once, he'd even had a good morning and a how was your evening for his boss. Since that day, though, it had been nothing but the cold shoulder.

About the Author
Somewhere in a small town in up-state New York are a librarian and a second grade teacher to whom I owe my life. That might be a touch dramatic, but it's nevertheless one hundred percent true.
Because they taught me the joy of reading, of escaping into worlds crafted of words.
Have you ever been nine years old and sure of nothing so much as that you don't belong? Looked at the world from behind glasses, and wondered why you don't fit?
Someone hands you a book, and then you turn the page and see... There you are, running from Injun Joe in a dark graveyard; there you are fencing with Athos; there you are...beneath the deep blue sea- marveling at exotic creatures with Captain Nemo.
I found myself between the pages of books, and that is why I write now. It's why I taught English and literature for so many years, and it's why my house contains more pounds of books than furniture.
If I'd had my way, I'd have been a fencer...or a starship captain, or a lawyer, or a detective solving crimes. But instead, I am a writer, and I've come to realize that's the best thing in the world to be, because as a writer, I can be all those things and more.
If I hadn't learned to value the stories between the pages, who knows what would have happened? Certainly not college...teaching...or writing.

Discover Lisa A. Adams' Fire on Ice

Talking with author Lisa A. Adams....

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
"Fire on Ice" is a M/M short story romance that is being released with Breathless Press under their Flirts Line for .99 The lead character is a professional hockey player and well known. But, hockey is a brutal manly sport. Can you imagine if the star hockey player actually came out as gay?

How did you come with the idea for this story?
It was inspired by a live hockey game I attended, and absolutely LOVED! The lead character whispered to me for months. I kept trying to pair him with ladies, but it wasn't working. Nothing I came up with was good enough. It wasn't until I realized he was gay that the story took off. Marcus' tale had to be told, and I really am grateful that Breathless Press picked it up.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
This is difficult. Other than reading romance for reviews, I prefer other genres. But, to choose from any of them, I'd have to say that I'd choose Captain Reynolds from the FireFly Comic series. And Nathan Fillion as Captain Reynolds in the show or movie, is exactly who I'd picture. He's got strength, comedy, a nice body, and intelligence. Plus, even though he's supposed to be a criminal he has a heart of gold.

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?
I have a huge crush on Gerard Butler. The accent, the talent, the body. Oddly enough, I am not one of those obsessive fans. If I ever did get a chance to meet him, I probably would ask him to a cup of coffee and a very real life discussion. Not about acting, not about his life, but maybe his favorite sports team, or favorite place to eat out. I would just love to listen to him talk, and if he wanted to do a little karaoke… I wouldn't mind at all.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?
I could pick a really famous author and say upfront it would be for the notoriety, but I'm not like that. I would love to work with some of my fellow authors on perhaps a "Sex in the City" type show with a little bit of "Fifty Shades" thrown in. Eventually, I'd love to work on a script that everyone wanted to watch.

Marcus Zankoriewicz is a leader in the National Hockey League… and has just announced he's gay.
Facing a firing squad of reporters accusing him of adultery with another player's wife, Marcus Zankoriewicz sees there's only one way out. He must make the announcement he knew would come one day.
But, this is hockey. Well known for its rough and manly men, Marcus must prepare himself for an onslaught of changes that threaten his career and love life.

Teaser Excerpt:
Marcus chuckled. "After all this time I ignored the questioning looks and there were still people who figured it out. I should have guessed."
"Don't get me wrong. You're definitely not flaming. In fact I bet my ass you're the hitter in the game."
Marcus grinned. "Really? You bet your ass?"
Justin rolled to his knees and stood in front of him. "Of course, you'll have to catch me first."

Welcome Rebekah Lewis and Enter to win some great prizes

Please help me welcome author Rebekah Lewis today as we talk all things Wonderland and more plus don't forget to enter the big contest at the end of the post. Breathless Press has some great prizes to be won!

Now let's see what I asked Rebekah...

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?

“The Vanishing” is a story I wrote to be included in the Breathless Press Wonderland themed month. It is based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, and the poem, “The Hunting of the Snark” by Lewis Carroll. I decided to write it in the tradition of the Alice books by bringing an average woman into Wonderland for a sort of adventure.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

I always considered “The Hunting of the Snark” as taking place in Wonderland due to the wording and characters involved. If anything, it takes place in the same universe as the “Jabberwocky” poem in Through the Looking Glass. And it was those two poems that I used as the basis for my story. The hero is the boy in the poem that killed the Jabberwock, but all grown up.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"?

You know, that hottie you read about and drool over. Karen Marie Moning’s V’lane is a great love of mine. I also love Lothaire by Kresley Cole. I think I have a thing for the not-so-good guys. haha

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?

The Three Ts: Tom Hiddleston, Travis Fimmel and Taylor Kitsch. If I met them I would likely make a huge fool of myself. Or drool on myself. I tend to get socially awkward around hot guys.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

I don’t know! There are so many, why must I choose! Lol  I would probably throw everyone for a loop and go straight-up horror and write with Tamara Thorne, whose books I admire a lot.

A bad day spins out of control when Cadence finds herself in the middle of the Tulgy Wood with a grinning cat who can vanish at will and a renown Wonderland hero in need of a companion to the Red Queen's court.
What happens when the hero who saved Wonderland from the destruction of the famed Jabberwock needs to find a worthy paramour before the Red Queen picks one for him? Devrel, the last of the Cheshire cats, has the perfect solution. He'll just pluck one from the human world and gift her to him for his un-birthday.
Realizing her friends were playing a joke on her, Cadence is heading home when she sees the cat smiling at her. Next thing she knows, she's in Wonderland and in the arms of a handsome man who thinks she's slightly unhinged upon meeting her. Intrigued by Gareth, Cadence makes an offer to act as his companion in exchange for his protection as they journey from the Tulgy Wood to the Red Kingdom—a simple solution which endangers both of their hearts as the castle looms in the distance.

Teaser:

"Devrel," the man called out. His forehead scrunched up, and she wondered what troubled such a handsome man so.
The grinning cat appeared on the man's shoulder, towering over him as he leaned down and answered, actually answered, with, "She's rather odd, isn't she?"
At this, Cadence lost it. She laughed, only to be forced into a fit of hysterical giggles when both the man and the cat glanced at each other and back at her.
"Mayhap I broke her," Devrel said, smile faltering ever so slightly as he reached down and swiped at the air in front of her face with huge paw.
The man sighed and shook his head. The hair falling over his forehead bounced with the movement. "Why did you bring her?"
"Bring whom?"
He pinned Devrel with a glare.
The cat snickered. "I jest. It's what I do. As for the girl..." Devrel faced her again. "Let me fetch her some borogove feathers. We can mash them up to powder and have her drink them with tea. I believe she's befuddled."

Book Spotlight & a Giveaway~ All Mad Here by Brantwjin Serrah

Talking with Breathless Press author Brantwjin Serrah and don't forget to enter the birthday giveaway at the end of the post.

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
As part of the Breathless Press Anniversary Collection, Wonderland Tales, I'll be releasing a short erotic tale titled All Mad Here. I'm very happy with this story, as it features Finn from my second novel Goblin Fires, and his two princesses, Nineva and Nerissa. It actually tells the story of how the three first admitted their love for each other, and embraced what I like to call "The Perfect Love Triangle"...or as my husband puts it, "one of those modern relationships".

How did you come with the idea for this story?
Well, Finn and his ladies were already part of my Four Courts canon, and the second book in the series is intended to feature them in the the leads. I wamted to write something very magical and unique for the Wonderland collection, something to do with birthdays and anniversaries and taking the next step forward. The story of a very special birthday in Wonderland really called for a Four Courts touch, and these three seemed ready to field a good show.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
Thomas Raith, from The Dresden Files. This scorching fiction fantasy brought to you courtesy of James Marsters narrating the audiobook version of Backup, a Dresden short story. That voice, UNF!

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?
At the moment, Amber Benson, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. And I have met her. She signed a copy of her book for me, I gave her a customized My Little Pony, and she's been exceptionally encouraging. She's an absolute doll, and I adore her sweet heart.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to  with and why?  Heh, I would be hell to work with. I think it would be fun to create something with Jim Butcher, Amber Benson or Jennifer Roberson, though.

Happy Birthday, Finn! The Knight of Springtime is turning 21, but instead of a pub crawl, he must find his way through Wonderland before he gets turned into a sheep!
Nineva and Nerissa have planned a big surprise for Finn's twenty-first birthday. Before he knows it, Finn finds himself in a version of Wonderland, racing the Red and White Queens for his fondest birthday wish—of course, his Ladies can't know his true desires...can they? Will he best the Red Knight, find the White Rabbit's missing token, outsmart the Cheshire Cat, and win his princesses, before he gets turned into a sheep?

Teaser Excerpt:

"You are almost free," Nineva said. "But alas, for riddle number three."
Finn had no worries. The first answer had been tied to Spring and Autumn, the second to Winter. She had but one Court left to draw from.
Nineva swept up close to him.
"What did my sister give you, which I now wish for you to give to me?"
"Wait, what?" he asked.
She seized him, pulling him to the grass with her, drawing him into a kiss. Finn flailed a moment, caught off-guard, but he planted his hands on either side of her, holding himself above her. The erection Nerissa had stirred to life became rather obvious between them.
"Bloody hell, lass! What do my Ladies mean by all this?"
"Finn," she said. Her hand stole down, sneaking to his groin, where she teasingly caressed him.
"What did my sister give you, which I now wish for you to give to me?"
He stared.
"Nina," he whispered. "The rules of this game are...very unclear to me."
"Ah, well...allow me to make them clearer," she said.
