Welcome Rebekah Lewis and Enter to win some great prizes

Please help me welcome author Rebekah Lewis today as we talk all things Wonderland and more plus don't forget to enter the big contest at the end of the post. Breathless Press has some great prizes to be won!

Now let's see what I asked Rebekah...

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?

“The Vanishing” is a story I wrote to be included in the Breathless Press Wonderland themed month. It is based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, and the poem, “The Hunting of the Snark” by Lewis Carroll. I decided to write it in the tradition of the Alice books by bringing an average woman into Wonderland for a sort of adventure.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

I always considered “The Hunting of the Snark” as taking place in Wonderland due to the wording and characters involved. If anything, it takes place in the same universe as the “Jabberwocky” poem in Through the Looking Glass. And it was those two poems that I used as the basis for my story. The hero is the boy in the poem that killed the Jabberwock, but all grown up.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"?

You know, that hottie you read about and drool over. Karen Marie Moning’s V’lane is a great love of mine. I also love Lothaire by Kresley Cole. I think I have a thing for the not-so-good guys. haha

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?

The Three Ts: Tom Hiddleston, Travis Fimmel and Taylor Kitsch. If I met them I would likely make a huge fool of myself. Or drool on myself. I tend to get socially awkward around hot guys.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

I don’t know! There are so many, why must I choose! Lol  I would probably throw everyone for a loop and go straight-up horror and write with Tamara Thorne, whose books I admire a lot.

A bad day spins out of control when Cadence finds herself in the middle of the Tulgy Wood with a grinning cat who can vanish at will and a renown Wonderland hero in need of a companion to the Red Queen's court.
What happens when the hero who saved Wonderland from the destruction of the famed Jabberwock needs to find a worthy paramour before the Red Queen picks one for him? Devrel, the last of the Cheshire cats, has the perfect solution. He'll just pluck one from the human world and gift her to him for his un-birthday.
Realizing her friends were playing a joke on her, Cadence is heading home when she sees the cat smiling at her. Next thing she knows, she's in Wonderland and in the arms of a handsome man who thinks she's slightly unhinged upon meeting her. Intrigued by Gareth, Cadence makes an offer to act as his companion in exchange for his protection as they journey from the Tulgy Wood to the Red Kingdom—a simple solution which endangers both of their hearts as the castle looms in the distance.

Teaser:

"Devrel," the man called out. His forehead scrunched up, and she wondered what troubled such a handsome man so.
The grinning cat appeared on the man's shoulder, towering over him as he leaned down and answered, actually answered, with, "She's rather odd, isn't she?"
At this, Cadence lost it. She laughed, only to be forced into a fit of hysterical giggles when both the man and the cat glanced at each other and back at her.
"Mayhap I broke her," Devrel said, smile faltering ever so slightly as he reached down and swiped at the air in front of her face with huge paw.
The man sighed and shook his head. The hair falling over his forehead bounced with the movement. "Why did you bring her?"
"Bring whom?"
He pinned Devrel with a glare.
The cat snickered. "I jest. It's what I do. As for the girl..." Devrel faced her again. "Let me fetch her some borogove feathers. We can mash them up to powder and have her drink them with tea. I believe she's befuddled."

Welcome Shelli Rosewarne today & a Giveaway

Please give a warm welcome to author Shelli Rosewarne and be introduced to her Alice in Wonderland story, Follow the White Rabbit. Remember to enter to win some great prizes from Breathless Press at the end of the post.

Now let's start off with a few questions I just had to ask Shelli...

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?

Well, this one is a flirt inspired by the world of Wonderland. I loved the Lewis Carroll books as a kid, so it was great fun to be able to set my own world in that world and put my own interpretation on it.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

In the original books we never actually meet Mary Ann, she is just mentioned when the White Rabbit mistakes Alice for her. It got me thinking about who she was, what she was doing in Wonderland, how did she get there, and her story almost formed in front of me. The Cat, in the way that all cats do, strolled himself into the book, and, well, let's just say it would take a stronger person than me to turn him away!

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.

Oh dear, how long have you got? I must admit I fall a little in love with all my heroes – I figure that's hopefully normal, as if you aren't drooling over your heroes then you can't expect anyone else to! I also totally love J.R.Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood (Zsadist and Wrath in particular!) and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters.

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?

I may have a (very slight) Tom Hiddleston obsession. I tend to be quite an introvert in real life though, if I did meet one of my crushes I would have no idea what to say so would probably mumble pathetically and then kick myself later for all the fabulous things I should have said. On the whole I tend to obsess over authors rather than movie stars though, I'm terrible for fan-girling at book signings.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

Ooh, that's a tough one! I think I would find it quite hard to co-write with someone else, just because my writing process is so entrenched in my own head. Hypothetically though, authors I really admire and would love to work with include Neil Gaiman, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jim Butcher and Terry Goodkind.

In Wonderland the strange and magical is everyday, but when a woman who can't remember her own name meets a shape-shifting cat, anything can happen.
Mary Ann doesn't remember her life before she wandered into the Woods of Forgetfulness. She doesn't remember who she was, where she came from, or even her real name—and she's given up on anyone coming to look for her. Now, she works for the White Rabbit, and if she's not deliriously happy at least her life is content.
Until, that is, she comes across a Cheshire Cat, a rare shape-shifter, who may be about to turn her life upside down.
In Wonderland, things are rarely what they seem.

Teaser:

He put a finger underneath her chin, his touch light but firm as he forced her head up to meet his gaze. Mary Ann shifted uncomfortably.
"I think so. I don't really know," she whispered, and when his brow rose in query, she added in a rush. "I lost my memory in the Woods of Forgetfulness, I don't know who I am, or where I come from, or even what my real name is. Everything before I went in there is just a blank."
His face softened suddenly. "Surely, someone is looking for you then?"
Mary Ann was embarrassed to feel tears burn her eyes, and she squeezed them shut. "If anyone was looking for me then they would have found me by now. Obviously no one cares."
The silence stretched out, and she forced herself to open her eyes, needing to see his face, though half-expecting there to be disgust etched on it. She was pathetic; apparently she couldn't even do a one-night stand without fucking it up before it even started. He was staring at her, but the look on his face was odd and unreadable.
"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I just feel so alone sometimes, I think I'm going mad."
A small smile curved his full lips. "We're all mad here, little mouse."
She found herself reluctantly smiling back. Perhaps he was right. His smile suddenly broadened into that wide grin.
"I think perhaps you need to see something strange and beautiful."

Shelli Rosewarne had always had a dream in the back of her head about wanting to be a writer. However, like with so many things, life and paying the bills got in the way and she worked in various jobs from call centers to shops to offices. She eventually realized that life is too short not to try and follow your dreams, and has since had two stand alone novellas published with Breathless Press, along with several submissions in anthologies, another novel contracted for later in the year and various works in progress in the pipeline. Yup, she's having to pinch herself as well! She's currently lucky enough to live in Edinburgh, where she can be constantly inspired by Scottish folklore and see castles every day. When not writing she loves reading, music and photography.

Welcome Gayl Taylor and Win some great prizes

Please give a warm welcome to author Gayl Taylor and remember to enter Breathless Press's big birthday month giveaway at the end of the post.

Now onto the questions I just had to ask Gayl...

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?

Tea For Three is a flirt that I wrote as part of the Wonderland Tales collection in honor of Breathless Press turning 5. It is my interpretation (with a bit of a gender switch) of the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and White Rabbit, in this case, Hatter, Bunny, and Cat. The story follows Bunny and her inability to arrive on time for tea. There are always delightful consequences in the form of punishment from her lover, Hatter. Of course he manages to find ways to keep her on her toes.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

This story really came out of thin air. When I began plotting this tale, I heard Bunny’s voice loud and clear. Then I took the idea of running late and it grew from there. I knew I wanted to use the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, and Cheshire Cat and once my imagination began firing on all cylinders, it took off. Once I got started, the ease with which the words came surprised me.
Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.

I am a sucker for a hot rock star or a Navy SEAL. I have a thing for tortured alpha males who can’t fight the need to protect those they love. I can’t say there is one in particular that is my favourite but I do get hot and bothered over a couple of JR Ward’s Brotherhood and Fallen Angels as well as Stephanie Laurens’ Cynster men.
Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?

I have a serious crush on Adam Levine. He is the all American boy with the hot tattoos, the devilish grin, and sparkling eyes. He is creative and a musician and that is hot to me. If I ever met him, I’d probably babble like an idiot or talk about my kids who are also musicians. Since he is married now, hitting on him is off the table

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

Good question… I have collaborated in the past but if I could pick anyone past or present I would say Ray Bradbury. I could not get enough of his books and would be thrilled if we could collaborate on a Sci-fi romance.

Punctuality is not a high priority for Bunny, especially when the penance for her tardiness is so sweet.
Teatime for Bunny and Hatter is their playtime. Hatter stresses his desire for her to be on time but she can't seem arrive when expected. As a result, he devises delightful punishments full of exquisite torture and mutually satisfying.
One afternoon, Bunny plans a naughty little treat for Hatter. She is late as usual and fully expects him to punish her wilful disregard. Imagine her surprise when she returns home for tea only to find Hatter with a wicked gleam in his eyes and a stranger curled up in her favorite chair with a most unusual grin.

Teaser:

A barely-there smile lifted the corners of her mouth as she considered the punishment for her tardiness. Hatter would not be pleased she was late again. What would he issue as penance for her willful disregard for his wishes? Spank her or withhold her climax? Perhaps he'd bind her to the bed and torture her with his hands and tongue. Oh yes! Berenice greatly enjoyed their afternoon tea. She could imagine his rumbling voice and scorching gaze as he admonished her. Bunny, as he liked to call her, you've again tried my patience. I shall need to spank you for your deliberate disregard for my instructions. Remove your panties, bring me my paddle, and bend over my lap. Berenice giggled like a naughty schoolgirl. Hatter invented the most delightful punishments. What will he say when he realizes she isn't wearing her panties?
Time hardly passed as she strolled along the trail and arrived at their small cottage in the woods. Brilliant pink, orange, and purple hues colored the late afternoon sky. Tomorrow would prove to be another delightful day if the sky was any indication. However, Berenice looked forward to this evening's delights. She'd never before experienced an all-consuming, passionate relationship. Hatter introduced her to a wonderland of sensual delights. Berenice reveled in his dominance, but Hatter was more than a commanding presence. He cared for her, saw to her needs, and gave her everything emotionally and physically. Now, Berenice scarcely remembered a time when they weren't together. She paused at the door and took a moment to smooth the skirt of her cotton sundress. Drawing a calming breath, she turned the doorknob and entered.
