Book Spotlight & Interview with Lisa Casian

Getting to know author Lisa Casian today....

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
Blood Bond follows the story of twin brothers Cassian and Bowen who are vampires. This is book two of the Blood Shade series and follows the story of Cassian. He's charged with caring for a friend who's been bitten by a werewolf and is fighting the change leaving him crippled. After hiring a healer for him, Cassian begins to have feelings for her. This is a problem since Cassian is a Shade and is the vessel of the goddess of chaos. They team up with Bowen to save the lives of those they care about, as the goddess intends on releasing a malevolent evil into the world.

How did you come with the idea for this story? I wanted to explore the secondary characters in book one. Cassian and Colin wouldn't let me forget them.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over. Oh, my! How many do I have? I'd have to pick Acheron from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter Series. He's good with kids, he's a god who turns blue in his god-like form, he's just…yeah.

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them? Okay, since I would feel wrong picking a guy who is way younger than me, I'd have to say Jon Bon Jovi. OMG…I was a groupie way back when. I'd love to spend the day with him, watch him play, and take lots of selfies.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why? I'd say Elizabeth Gilbert. I'd love to work with her on something similar to Eat, Pray, Love. Travelling, rebuilding my mojo, and finding love (okay, maybe not love, I'm married), but writing something from hands on experience would be awesome!

When Bowen pleads for Cassian's help in saving his beloved from Eris, Cassian must fulfill his duty as Shade and lead the shadow army, risking more than just his soul.
Centuries ago, Cassian formed a bond with the goddess of chaos and stripped all that made him human, releasing the evil inside him. He became a Shade, leader of the shadow army. But Cassian could never allow the evil to fully entrench his heart.
Anna is running away from her life and her father. Switching places with her maid, she accepts a job as a healer, unaware that the job would require much more—her body and her heart. She gives both willingly to Cassian.
When Bowen pleads for Cassian's help in saving his own beloved from Eris, Cassian must fulfill his duty as a Shade and submit to Eris in order to save her. But it requires releasing Nyx out of Hades, along with a shadow army to rule over the humans. And with Anna's life at stake, Cassian has much more to lose than just his soul.
Only working together with his brother will allow them to save those they love and, hopefully, the world. If they don't kill each other first.

Teaser:
Cassian pulled away, releasing her lips from his, but remained close enough to feel the heat of her breath on his face. Her scent a mask he wore over his heart. He wanted to tell her to be afraid of him, of Bowen, even of Bas. To stop risking her life for them. But all that came out was, "Drop the visual of him and think of me."
She smiled, a hint of blush on her cheeks, as he felt a fool. Grateful that they stopped, he stepped out of the carriage and into the night.
The ship bobbled in the still, calm waters. The sails fluttered as the men began preparing the voyage. But Cassian didn't pay much attention to that. What he did see was a tall woman with flowing red hair waiting for them on the deck. Anna let out a groan.
Versandi.
Versandi smiled a brilliant smile at Cassian, and Bowen laughed beside him. "She is something, isn't she?"
"She's not here for me, dumbass," Cassian scolded.
Bowen dropped his smile.
"Isabeau wants you to feed." Cassian turned to look at his brother. "And if you ever, ever, lay your hands on Anna again, I will kill you."
Bowen narrowed his gaze. Cassian was glad Anna had already boarded with Samir so she wouldn't feel guilty of the threat. Bowen seemed to recover, and a smile spread on his face, though his eyes were hollow. "You better keep her close then." He tapped his forehead and climbed on board.

Book Spotlight~ Torie James' Point of No Return

Welcome author Torie James today as we talk about her new release, a short story just in time for Halloween called Point of No Return.

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?  Point of No Return is a short story (we call them Flirts, way cuter!) and a prequel of sorts, combined. I'd done a flash fiction story last year for an author friend's blog that told the strange story of one Avan Noxturna who had one hell of a Halloween. This picks up, four years later, with subtle references to her past and a whole new slew of problems for this Daddy's Girl. Did I happen to mention that "Daddy" is the Devil?

How did you come with the idea for this story? I'd been watching The Devil's Advocate with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves, then as luck would have it, Bedazzled with Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Fraser was on directly after. I fell asleep thinking about both movies and dreamed a little dream where Robert Downey Jr was Lucifer, Robert Englund was God (although his real name was Noname (No Name) and they decided to retire and leave their children in charge. Two days later, I had a loose outline about a young woman named Avan, who was going to prove  that if you wanted a job done, get a man. If you wanted it done right, get a woman.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over. Lestat de Lioncourt. Hands down. I remember when I first read Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. It wasn't instant love for Lestat, I thought him pretty much the villain during Interview with the Vampire, felt grudging remorse for him in The Vampire Lestat but it wasn't until Queen of the Damned that I realized I'd fallen hard for the Brat Prince, the James Bond of vampires! I'd once harboured an insane dream of being Anne Rice's protégé but that didn't pan out due to my lack of ambition. Used to dream big and make no action. *laughs*

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them? Kyle Schmid. He's been in several shows; Blood Ties, Copper, Lost Girl, Being Human. I've had his imaginary children and we've had amazing imaginary sex. In reality, I'd probably just stammer a lot and tell him something lame like, "I love your hair." Yep, that's me. Torie James…Flirting Queen.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?  Ohhhh…tough question! Hmm. Let's see  George RR Martin.  I know it pisses a lot of people off with how he kills off beloved characters but Sir George also has his thumb on the pulse of fantasy fiction. He's brilliant, innovative and absolutely, unabashedly true to his vision and not afraid to go outside the proverbial box. I like and admire that because while he takes public opinion into consideration, he ultimately does it  in a way that satisfies and frustrates…and keeps the readers on edge.

Full of seething, sensual shadows and hidden faces, the annual Masquerade Ball at Lymbo Resort is one event anyone would sell their soul for.

One night a year, impiety and temptation take center court at the invitation only event hosted by the mysterious Avan Noxturna. Decadent darkness, burning lust, and wicked intentions hide behind innocent masks in the most innocuous places.
The fires of hell may blaze hot, but the flames of passion consume common sense when obsessive memories escape to ignite an inferno of intimate bliss that will sear both saint and sinner.

Excerpt
She enjoyed being a highly sexual female who felt no shame in shagging a man for recreational purposes. Guys did it all the time and they were called studs. A woman with the same goal? Slut. Luckily, she didn't much care what anyone thought. She had no desire to settle into a bullshit relationship where she lost her identity. Her mother had schooled her. She was an island and it suited her fine when the occasional ship came into port, docking on a temporary pass. A lustful interlude with a masked stranger on Halloween? Cliché. And tempting. She did have a few extra minutes.
Then he filled her vision and she grew damp under the heated gaze.
One. Quick. Fuck.
Medicinal purposes only.
He opened his mouth to speak and she shook her head. "Shh. Don't talk. You'll ruin it."

Author Bio:
"If you really want to read a book that hasn't been written yet, then you must write it" ~Toni Morrison~

Torie James has loved reading since she was old enough to hold a book in her lap. While her friends were out playing, she was generally curled up nearby falling down rabbit holes, catching second stars to the right, and stepping through wardrobes into mysterious lands and countless adventures. When those stories ended, she made up her own and kept going. This later on translated into a strong passion for writing that has helped her keep her feet on the ground while her head stayed firmly in the clouds. Lover of Dr. Pepper, all things chocolate, and Duran Duran, her dreams finally became a reality with the publication of Timeless Night and Timeless Desire, Books One and Two of the award winning New Camelot Series. Slated for 3 more books in that series, she's also currently working on The Cloie Chronicles, The Tudor Files, Avan Noxturna: Soul Broker and the Fables of Blood and Stone. Two short stories, No Change Policy in Room 8 and Reclaiming the Rabbit Hole can be found in My Bloody Valentine and Wonderland Tales, respectively, through her publisher, Breathless Press.
Torie lives in Southern California with her family and a houseful of pets who rule the roost.

Welcome Breathless Press Author Dana Wright

Please give a warm welcome to author Dana Wright who has a new release from Breathless Press called Asylum. Let's see what we can get out of her about a few things, shall we?

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
My latest book is called Asylum. It is the story of Rachel who has an affinity for the dead and is able to walk through time to find out the truth about what happened to them. In Asylum she is contracted to find out the fate of another ghost hunter. Matt Rutledge, a sceptic and debunker of psychic frauds is determined to prove she isn’t what she seems. Enter the asylum where the past comes alive and Matt Rutledge is about to learn what it means to be very, very afraid.

How did you come with the idea for this story?
Ghost stories grab us and keep us reading. Spooky houses and old asylums resonate with voices from the past. What do you get when you take a woman who can reach out and touch those abandoned souls and bring them peace or retribution? You get a series with a kick butt heroine who isn’t afraid of the dark and who can tackle a sceptic and bring him to his knees. How? Just by being who she is. It’s a lesson we can all learn from in everyday life. Be ourselves and the rest will follow—in life, love and romance. A kiss is still a kiss, and a sigh is well…a breath of music.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
I don’t usually think of books that way-isn’t that funny. J

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?
I don’t watch enough television to really know but I really would love to meet the cast of American Horror Story. They are all such incredibly talented

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

I would love to work with Maggie Stiefvater. She has such a great voice and her level of snark is out of this world. Total fan girl here.

The voices of the past are alive behind the iron gates of Bremore Asylum. Can Rachel and Matt deduce its secrets before it's too late?

When Rachel agrees to take the job investigating the disappearance of a fellow ghost hunter at Bremore Asylum, she is totally unprepared for the sexy and stubborn psychic debunker Matt Rutledge to be a part of the package. Can these two opposing forces find the answers behind the asylum's crumbling walls before they become the newest victims to the asylum's grim history?

Excerpt:

Rachel narrowed her eyes. What little hold she held on her frayed temper snapped. Self-doubt flared, but she stamped it out as quickly as it came.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She stepped forward, hands clenched into fists, her foot brushing against the luggage. Her hoodie slid off the suitcase and flopped unceremoniously into the dirt.
"We haven't even started on the project and you're trying to displace me already?"
Rutledge stepped back, surprise clear on his lightly parted lips. Lips she apparently still wanted to kiss, damn his eyes. God, what was wrong with her?
"My friend almost died because of a mistake I made. But you're already aware of that, aren't you, Mr. High and Mighty? Listen to me and listen good. I'm here because my grandmother needs me. I'm a damn fine ghost hunter, which you would already know if you bothered to see beyond what happened to Jeannie." She poked her finger into his chest and had the satisfaction of seeing him wince.
Matt stepped back and held up his hands, a ruddy flush creeping up his cheeks. "Okay. I was out of line. Truce?" He bent down and carefully picked up her hoodie, handing it to her gingerly.
"Thank you, Mr. Rutledge." Rachel snatched the hoodie from his hands and tied it around her waist with a firm yank. She didn't want to chance it falling in the dirt again and it was going to be a long weekend. At the rate they were going, it was going to be a full-on ice storm between them.
A flash of humor crossed his face. "Do you think maybe you could call me Matt?"
"That depends."
"On what?" Matt cocked his eyebrow with surprise.
"On whether you can stop dissecting me like one of your frauds."

Talking with Brantwijn Serrah today

Chatting with author Brantwijn Serrah on their new book, Bad Dreams, just in time for Halloween. :-)

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
This week, I released a short "Flirt" called Bad Dreams, with Breathless Press. It's a Halloween-themed short story, and the best way I can describe it is to say it is a "hentai" style dark romance. I pushed some boundaries with it, personally, and I ended up being very proud of the result.

How did you come with the idea for this story?
A couple years back I was listening to a podcast by Remittance Girl, an erotic author I really admire. Towards the end of her podcast she announced she and another author were holding a call for submissions for "tentacle sex" stories. It's a very niche genre, I'm pretty sure, and I'd never considered writing it myself, but the seed of an idea got planted in my head. I didn't submit to the call by Remittance Girl but a little while later I came up with Bad Dreams. I've been interested in seeing how a story like this will be received.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
I would absolutely sell my soul for Lara Raith, from The Dresden Files.

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?
I have a few celebrity crushes, and I have met some of them (thankfully, all very sweet folks). I think the Holy Grail of celeb crushes for me would be Alyson Hannigan, though, and I'm afraid if I ever did meet her I would freeze and not have anything clever or even remotely intelligible to say!

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

I would probably like to work with either Decadent Kane, one of my Breathless Press mentors, and/or Torie James, also from Breathless Press.  We chat loosely about our work and pitch ideas from time to time, so I think if we got together we could release a pretty kickass book.

A Blood and fire Story

Priya can't sleep, but that's not the worst of her troubles. She's starting to hallucinate, and every night she's seeing a very wicked male...
The doctor calls it "sleep paralysis." Her husband doesn't realize anything's wrong. But night after night, Priya finds herself stuck between sleep and waking, perfectly aware and perfectly helpless, as a looming dark creature hovers over her. He promises pleasure so sinful, Priya can't resist. Bound in his coils, she's starting to lose herself...

Teaser:

Dreary and exhausted, Priya couldn't find the energy to do anything besides plod off to bed. She crawled under the covers on her belly, praying there would be no delirious, dark imaginings when she closed her eyes.
Then—seemingly immediately—the paralysis took her. It replaced her weary, aching fatigue with a rabid, feverish, and animal need. Her body thrilled in madly constrained helplessness; she flushed hot under the weight of gleaming, glinting eyes.
She found it difficult to breathe. A heavy, winding coil, serpentine, wrapped around her throat, and more twisted around her wrists, pinning them behind her back. Priya wanted to scream, her higher brain waking into a red panic. Deeper inside, though, like a naughty child set loose to misbehave, the primal Priya, the visceral, hungry, and joyous Priya needed it, fighting to move if only so she could squirm happily against her restraints.
The fear and the pleasure were hard to separate. The world of the dream flooded her mind, dark and vague. Her thoughts and will were tugged down and down, while the shadows of her bedroom swam above her.
A body lay on top of hers, felt more than seen. Those silvery eyes locked with hers, like a hypnotist entrancing her as prey, a python with a bird. Her nakedness was all she could think about, vulnerable and open to the thing pinning her down. As the strange presence caressed her, she remembered...she'd wanted this. She'd asked Ron to blindfold and bind her, and now she was bound quite tightly, powerless as the demanding malevolence took everything he hungered for.

When she isn't visiting the worlds of immortals, demons, dragons and goblins, Brantwijn fills her time with artistic endeavors: sketching, painting, customizing My Little Ponies and sewing plushies for friends. She can't handle coffee unless there's enough cream and sugar to make it a milkshake, but try and sweeten her tea and she will never forgive you. She moonlights as a futon for four lazy cats, loves tabletop role-play games, and can spend hours watching Futurama, Claymore or Buffy the Vampire Slayer while she writes or draws.
In addition to her novels, Brantwijn has had several stories published in anthologies by Breathless Press, including the 2013 Crimson Anthology and 2014 Ravaged Anthology.  She's also had a short story published in the Cleiss Press Big Book of Orgasm and the anthology Coming Together Through The Storm. She hopes to have several more tales to tell as time goes on.  She has author pages on GoodReads and Amazon, and loves to see reader comments on her work. Her short stories occasionally pop up at Foreplay and Fangs, her blog at http://brantwijn.blogspot.com.

Talking with Ishabelle Torry

Talking with author Ishbelle Torry today about her new release, The Gift, now available at Breathless Press.

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?

My newest release The Gift, features a married couple celebrating their tenth anniversary! Sheryl, the normally predictable heroine, decides she wants nothing more than to give her husband, Daniel, the gift of gifts—something more than the average tie and shirt. However, her rash decision to have a nude portrait commissioned leaves her dashing at the last moment to hide it, wishing she'd stuck to the traditional presents of the past.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

*Blushes and coughs into fist* I have a friend…yea a friend…that thought about posing nude for a painting for her husband. *guilty grin*

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.

Oh goodness…I think I fall in love with every hero, and a few heroines, I read! So this week's book boy is…*pouts* Don't make me pick!

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?

HMMM… Michael Weatherly. He's so scrumptious. If NCIS were a real thing, I'd commit a crime so his character Anthony DiNozzo could arrest me, because he'd have to touch me! And there'd be cuffs involved…

As for meeting him in real life? HAH! I’d make a fool of myself, I'm sure. When I'm nervous, I tend to talk a LOT, and stumble around. He's likely to call the cops and report me as a drunken stalker! (You wouldn’t believe how many typos I had just thinking about it!)

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?

Ohhh, Ember Leigh, for sure! Not only is she bestester author friend, she's my favourite contemporary author. I think together we'd pen an amazing story!

When their tenth anniversary comes around, Sheryl wants to make it special for Daniel. Something crazy, extraordinary, and completely out of her persona. Her solution--a nude portrait. But on the way home, self-doubt leaves her wishing she'd stuck to the same old ties and shirts of the past. The painting must go! Only one problem...Daniel's home earlier than expected! It's no-holds-barred as Sheryl frantically tries to hide the foolish gift. Can she play distract-the-hubby long enough before he catches a glimpse?

Teaser:

My chest tightened, and I had to take slow, calming breaths to steady my quivering limbs as I maintained eye contact. I had waited years for this moment; defeating modesty with a blatant desire to shed the snow from its covered mountain peak. I prayed I wouldn't pass out before the overdue climax reached fruition.
His tongue darted out and he licked the corners of his mouth hungrily, squinting in concentration. "One more touch," he promised with a whisper. He then threw his head back and bellowed. "Finished!"
I pulled the sheets over my nudity, suddenly embarrassed. My clammy palms smeared the soft fabric with wet streaks as I wrung the material between shaky fingers. I waited for him to speak—to say anything. With pursed lips, he occasionally produced a clicking sound as his tongue bounced off of his front teeth.
I willed his words to come. But silence was the one thing I found to be the most charming of his many qualities. Without words, he couldn't criticize me...or my newest fetish. My endeavor was safe with this almost mime.
He grunted loudly and twisted his body back and forth. A long stretch pulled him to his tiptoes as his head fell back to blow kisses at the popcorn ceiling. He lowered his gaze slowly and devoured my form from crown to toe, like a lion inspecting his prey. The deep blue of his eyes hid his thoughts, just as the ocean concealed buried treasure.

Ishabelle Torry is a full time mother, wife and student. She enjoys time with her family, and their plethora of pets on the farm. Welcome author Ember Leigh today

Please give a warm welcome to author Ember Leigh today as we sit down to chat with h er on a variety of things and check out her new book at Breathless Press, Carlos and Casey.

Can you tell us a little about yourself? My name is Ember Leigh, and I am really happy to be here! Here are some fun facts: I write erotic romance with Breathless Press. My first rejection letter came at age 9. I used to want to be an astrophysicist, until I realized all the math involved. I also love rainbow chard and black beans, and sometimes together.

What started your interest in writing? I think about this lot, and I can't figure out if it was fate or mere influence. Overall, I'd say it was a combination of both. My mother and grandmother are both writers, and my mother promoted a lot of reading in my childhood. I began penning my own tales around age 8, because I was obsessed with space and wanted to write stories about girls exploring the moon. It’s in the genes and in the upbringing.

What is your book(s) about? My latest release is an erotic short story, also known as a Flirt. Two ex-lovers meet up after four years have gone by, and lots of things have changed. New lifestyles, new jobs, divorce, etc. The story looks at that awkwardness that emerges once a lot of time has passed, and neither knows what the other is feeling, but that spark is still there.

What do you do when you’re not writing? This question makes it sound like I write most of the time, which, unfortunately and maybe sadly, isn't true. Someday I'll get there. But, when I'm not writing, I'm doing any variety of the following things: cooking, yoga, spending time with friends and my partner, compulsively googling abstract topics under the guise that I'm researching for a novel, working a day job at an NGO, or delicately re-hanging laundry so that it dries evenly for that awesome spurt of late afternoon sun.

Are any of your characters like you? Not overtly, but I think it's impossible for an author to write a character that has no part of them represented. Every character has something that comes from within. Even if it's just the fact that they hate a certain vegetable or something.

What genres do you write in? My published works have only been in contemporary, m/f erotic romance. I am about to dabble in the waters of romantic suspense, and, down the road, something with a sci-fi twist. I don't know where this road will lead but I'm heading down it!

Is there anything you will never write about? Aside from the regular no-no's that I couldn't imagine including in my work (pedophilia, non-consent, etc), I also probably won't be writing any vampire tales anytime soon. Or anything involving shifters. The stories aren't uninteresting to me, I just find myself content being the spectator instead of the ride operator, so to speak.

Do you keep a notebook near your for when new ideas pop into your head? I do, technically -- but what "notebook" ends up being is a combination of post-its, word documents, notebook scribbles, iPhone messages and, of course, one actual dedicated writing notebook. These float around in all possible arenas. It's very chaotic. Every once in awhile i sit down to condense all the various bits. It's rarely contained.

For readers who haven't tried your books yet, how do you think your editor or loyal readers would describe your books? Something that comes up a lot is my relentless use of "back and forth" with my characters in admitting that they are into one another. I suppose this emotional and sexual tension runs pretty rampant in my work. Some people aren’t fans of that, but it’s something I like to play with, since my characters are usually extremely hesitant or even downright resistant to opening up to love.

I’m always looking for book recommendations. What books have you been reading? Would you recommend them? I might be late to the show, but I just finished Stephen King's "On Writing" memoir and it was fabulous. I recommend that because it's both a resource and a fun read. Beyond that, an ‘of the moment’ recommendation would be ‘The Rise & Fall of the Scandamerican Domestic’, which is a collection of unsettling, strange, and fascinating stories about middle-class suburbia.

About the Author

Ember Leigh has been writing erotic romance novels since she was far too young. A native of northern Ohio, she currently resides in South America with her Argentinean partner, a detail she uses to justify her Bachelor's degree in Latin American Literature. In addition to romance novels, she also writes travel articles, maintains three blogs, and continually attempts to complete a mildly-gripping short story. In her free time, she practices Ashtanga yoga, travels the world, and eats lots of vegetables.

GENRE: EROTIC ROMANCE
PUBLISHER: BREATHLESS PRESS

BUY LINKS:

Recently divorced, Casey has been longing for a man's touch. So when business brings her back to Carlos, the one that got away, it has to be fate. The four years apart have only done him better, and all she can think about is having his arms, and body, wrapped around hers. But Carlos is not the same man he was four years ago, and Casey too is feeling the weight of too much time gone by. Can Casey help reignite his fire or has time left them behind?

EXCERPT:

Her breath caught as she followed him up the staircase, tucked to the far side of the house. Carlos had always been fit enough, but it looked like he'd taken up some new form of exercise in the past four years. He was beefier, yet still lean. His ass moved round and tight in front of her as they climbed the stairs. At the landing, he gestured in front of them.
"This is my studio, but it's all yours for tonight."
It was a rec room that took up the whole second floor, and far more standard male than the ground floor alluded to. Movie posters, gaming systems, books scattered on floors and coffee tables, and, off to one side, the trumpet, asleep in a bed of sheet music. In the corner there was an overstuffed couch just about as wide as she was long – it would be great to sleep on, even better if he could bend her over that armrest and fuck her until dinner was ready.
She cleared her throat, deciding adult friendships could be fun, even after four questionable years. "I thought I'd be sharing a bed with you?" She tried to keep her tone playful as she sauntered toward the couch. She tossed him a smile and she caught a glimpse of him looking very stricken. Shit. Too far. Things are too different now. Abort!
Maybe too much time had passed in general. Maybe he was courting a girl and wanted to take it slow with her. Maybe he no longer found her attractive, four years becoming the dagger in the heart. Maybe he'd become celibate, or found her life too normal and boring. There was a whole list of reasons why she shouldn't make the first move.
"I was just joking," she said after a moment, rolling her eyes. "Come on, lighten up."
He exhaled slowly, looking down at the ground as his tongue found the corner of his mouth. "I know it was a joke, Case."
"In case you forgot, we used to share a bed." She looked at him pointedly, already horrified that the words were coming from her lips. What was the getting at? Who had authorized this dialogue?
He squeezed his eyes shut and laughed softly. "Oh, I remember."

Discover Lisa A. Adams' Fire on Ice

Talking with author Lisa A. Adams....

Can you please tell us about your latest/upcoming book(s)?
"Fire on Ice" is a M/M short story romance that is being released with Breathless Press under their Flirts Line for .99 The lead character is a professional hockey player and well known. But, hockey is a brutal manly sport. Can you imagine if the star hockey player actually came out as gay?

How did you come with the idea for this story?
It was inspired by a live hockey game I attended, and absolutely LOVED! The lead character whispered to me for months. I kept trying to pair him with ladies, but it wasn't working. Nothing I came up with was good enough. It wasn't until I realized he was gay that the story took off. Marcus' tale had to be told, and I really am grateful that Breathless Press picked it up.

Who is your ultimate "book boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
This is difficult. Other than reading romance for reviews, I prefer other genres. But, to choose from any of them, I'd have to say that I'd choose Captain Reynolds from the FireFly Comic series. And Nathan Fillion as Captain Reynolds in the show or movie, is exactly who I'd picture. He's got strength, comedy, a nice body, and intelligence. Plus, even though he's supposed to be a criminal he has a heart of gold.

Who is your Celebrity crush? And what would you do if you ever meet them?
I have a huge crush on Gerard Butler. The accent, the talent, the body. Oddly enough, I am not one of those obsessive fans. If I ever did get a chance to meet him, I probably would ask him to a cup of coffee and a very real life discussion. Not about acting, not about his life, but maybe his favorite sports team, or favorite place to eat out. I would just love to listen to him talk, and if he wanted to do a little karaoke… I wouldn't mind at all.

If you could collaborate with another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?
I could pick a really famous author and say upfront it would be for the notoriety, but I'm not like that. I would love to work with some of my fellow authors on perhaps a "Sex in the City" type show with a little bit of "Fifty Shades" thrown in. Eventually, I'd love to work on a script that everyone wanted to watch.

Marcus Zankoriewicz is a leader in the National Hockey League… and has just announced he's gay.
Facing a firing squad of reporters accusing him of adultery with another player's wife, Marcus Zankoriewicz sees there's only one way out. He must make the announcement he knew would come one day.
But, this is hockey. Well known for its rough and manly men, Marcus must prepare himself for an onslaught of changes that threaten his career and love life.

Teaser Excerpt:
Marcus chuckled. "After all this time I ignored the questioning looks and there were still people who figured it out. I should have guessed."
"Don't get me wrong. You're definitely not flaming. In fact I bet my ass you're the hitter in the game."
Marcus grinned. "Really? You bet your ass?"
Justin rolled to his knees and stood in front of him. "Of course, you'll have to catch me first."
