Teaser Excerpt:

Sipping a glass of ice water while I waited, I looked forward to seeing Chloe. We’d been co-workers and friends for years.

When Chloe walks in, I watch as all the men’s heads turn to stare as she approached our table. Her beauty always drew gazes and left me feeling like a weed planted next to a stunning flower.

After Chloe and I make a bit of small talk and order, I ask the question I’ve been dying to ask since I ended our phone call. “What is going on, Chloe? What can I do to help?”

“Mike’s quit his job at the college and decided to open his own catering business and the stress of having no money coming in is taking its toll on us. All we do is fight. I can’t stand that I have no say in how our money is spent. Would you believe he bought a delivery truck for his business but hasn’t even gotten the brakes fixed on my car?”

“I’m sorry, Chloe. What does Mike say when you talk to him about this?”

“He really doesn’t understand. He has stars in his eyes about what the future holds and can’t see what’s happening right in front of his face. My salary is the only thing paying the bills. With the way Mike’s spending money, it’s going out as fast as it’s coming in. You know, Lissa. You’re so lucky to have Alex. He’s a wonderful provider. What I wouldn’t give to have him back in my life.”

Ouch. Chloe’s words hurt. I knew Alex was a wonderful husband, but he was mine now. Was she really indicating she wanted him back?

“Alex is a fabulous husband, father, and friend. I’m lucky to be his wife.” Needing to establish my territory, I made sure to point out Alex was mine.

“Yes, he is. I’d give anything to have him back. Just to make it clear, if you ever hurt him or let him go, I’m going to be right there to pick up the pieces. After all, we have a child together. We’ll always be in each other’s lives.”

“Well, Alex is very happy and I’ll do anything to keep him that way.”

The rest of lunch passed in a blur. I couldn’t keep my mind off her ultimatum. Maybe Chloe was just reacting to all the problems in her own marriage by lashing out at me. I was willing to give her the benefit of doubt. However, all I wanted to do was to escape the original lunch from hell and get home to Alex to reassure myself of his love. For me.

Book Trailer:

Reviews:
“I. Loved. This. Book. Need I say more? Omgosh, Michel has completely blown my mind here on this one. This is my first read from her and you know, I've read from some other people that she's one of their favorites, I'd have to agree! Hands down! Her writing style kind of reminds me of J.R. Ward! I was never disappointed with this book. I laughed, I cried, my heart broke. It was tragic, it was funny... it was everything that you could expect in a book. I honestly hope that this is part of a series and she doesn't leave us hanging where it left off. Can't wait for the next book!!!!!”--Ashley E. of http://www.faebooks.co.uk

“Well this may be called The Frozen but boy its one red hot scorching read. There is nothing frosty about this main lead. Nye is the epitome of every girls fantasy. Sweet, kind, beautiful, perfect in every way, except he's been frozen in time by the angel Gabriel. Set to serve out his remaining years on earth to eradicate the world of demons and demon spawn. And he's from a time, a hundred or so years hence, when some humans were lesser beings, racist and cruel. He doesn't know or understand the ways of the modern world. That is until he comes across Kiri. Then his whole existence is turned on its head, as he falls for her hard. And she in turn, falls just as hard for him, and that's when the difficulty of their connection begins.

This was a sit down, don't move from your seat, "kids fend for yourselves, I'm busy" kind of read. Interruptions, that take you out of this world are a huge annoyance. That's when you know the author's got you and isn't going to let you go until you finish the final page. And the finish didn't disappoint, it threw me, I really hadn't seen that one coming. Love it when that happens!!!!

So there you have it, for all of those who loved to be sucked in from the very first to the very last, this read is for you. I guarantee you'll enjoy it, and you'll be left wanting more.

Highly recommended, oh and I'd also recommend take away for dinner. LOL”--Amazon Reviewer

Teaser Excerpt:

I walked back to the main house in time to see Kanga finally appear in the yard.

“What took you so long?”

“My apologies, Yahweh.”

I bit into the deep-fried chicken leg and swallowed the greasy mess.  Salt flowed through my veins once more.  I whipped the bone at Kanga’s head.

“Tell me why the Dark One is still alive.”

“I…I…I…”

“Get inside.”

I grabbed her arm and shoved her into the house.

Everyone gathered in the kitchen eating a sweet treat.  Kanga’s body flew across the room, her hips hitting the island in the middle of the kitchen.  She collapsed on the floor with a sharp howl.

“Don’t you dare cry in pain, bitch,” I warned.   The third piece of chicken finally consumed, I threw the empty bucket at Kanga.  “Who here knows how to shop?  Who?  The bantlings are on the verge of emaciation and the only thing in this house seems to be cookies and cakes.  What are you, a bunch of children?”

My fist hit the pan of cakelike substance and it flew, hitting the horrid tinted chandelier, which was supposed to signify a dining area.  Bits of cake splattered along the wall, while the house seemed to stiffen from my outburst.

Nemesio and Zuma were the only ones not in fear of me.

“Whores, are you enjoying this?”

“No, Yahweh,” Nemesio answered.

“I’m sure they are grieved at your disappointment in them,” Pivane deigned to step towards me.

“Did I ask for your opinion?  I do not recall asking you to speak.”

“I apolo…”

“Shut that open sore that you call a mouth.  This shit has to stop.  We’ve lost over half in the last week.  Twice today the Dark One and the female were within our sights and yet they still live.”

“Kanga, Zuma do you need to be replaced with trackers that are not afraid to get their hands dirty?”

“I injured him.”

My hand flew, sending Kanga into the fridge.

“Wow, you racked him.  That took him down for all of a minute.  I’m not worried if he’ll reproduce.  I want him taken out!  And where are the ashes?  In a drain somewhere, I assume.”

“We can go and retrieve them,” Keir stated.

“Well, let me find you a strainer,” I said, my sarcasm hitting an all time high.  “Kanga, you’re inside from now on.  You found the bantling in record time, but you didn’t destroy the Frozen.”

“If I would’ve killed him, his partner would’ve killed me.”

“I’m sorry, are you trying to make a point?” I asked as my elbows supported my weight on the island.  “Like I care if you die.  You being replaced would take less than a day.  Frozen take weeks if not years to mature enough to fight.”

I buried my head in my hands and tried to get my breathing under control.  Someone shifted.

“Who is moving?  Right now, not one of you should even be breathing until I dismiss you.”

Talking with Anna Kristell today

Welcome to my Reading Nook, Anna Kristell. Please make yourself at home and let my cabana boys/girls get you a drink.

Comfortable? Wonderful. Now let’s get started.

Tell us about your favorite character from your books.
It would have to be David from Remember Our Promise…sweet, sexy, and even though Lily, the heroine doesn’t realize it, he would do anything for her.

Tell us about your current/upcoming release. What inspired this story?
Remember Our Promise will be released by Rebel Ink Press August 3rd. This story just came to me one day in the middle of writing one of my series books. I’ve often said it wrote itself and I was only along for the ride. I used it for my NaNoWriMo story, write 50K in 30 days. I began on November 1 and it was finished on November 17. My editor even loved it and there were hardly any changes suggested in edits.

When in the day/night do you write? How long per day?
I work an 8-5 M-F day job, so my writing is done either in the evenings or on the weekends. Depending on what else is going on, I’ve been known to write for 16 hours on Saturday and again on Sunday, but I don’t always keep that kind of schedule. I write when I can, as often as I can.

What is the hardest part of writing your books?
I am always afraid of running out of ideas…so far that hasn’t happened. The hardest thing for me right now is the fact that I’ve ventured out into the unknown…I am writing an erotic romance under a different pen name for LazyDay. It will be released in November and right now I’m polishing it before it goes to edits. If you’ve read my Anna books, you’ll know they are mainstream. The series with LazyDay Publishing is a continuing dramatic romance which centers around the lives of five women and their families and friends. My books with Rebel Ink Press which aren’t part of the series and have been dubbed as sweet and sexy love stories. So a DD/spanking erotic romance is new ground for me. I was encouraged to do this by some writer friends of mine and LazyDay was all for it, so the reason for a different pen is to distinguish between the mainstream and the erotic for my readers. Some of them will read both but some prefer the sweet. I’ll release more information later on this. Originally it was going to be a secret that the other pen name and Anna are the same, but the readers I shared it with were so supportive I decided to come out of the closet and make it known. If you prefer the sweet and sexy, read Anna’s books and if you prefer something a little spicier, read the other ones…

What does your family think of your writing career?
My family thinks it is awesome as they know this has been a long time dream of mine. Although my two granddaughters, when told I was going to meet some of my readers, said “That’s so overrated. You’re just Nana.”

What do you think makes a good story?
You have to create your characters, the attraction, the conflict, and the result…with a lot of things happening in between.

Plotter or Pantser? Why?
Plotter usually, I come up with the general plot, then add things along the way as they come to me.

How do you develop your plots and your characters? Do you use any set formula?
Normally the ideas just come to me, from something someone has said, from a song I’ve heard, or a couple I’ve seen.

What book are you reading now? Any favorite authors/books you want to do a shout out for?
Right now I’m involved in getting caught up with Sable Hunter’s books. She and I have recently become friends, she’s helped me a lot and I love her work. She has read some of mine as well.

What do you do to unwind and relax?
Is there such a thing? I love to sleep in on Saturday mornings. I like to go out to dinner, or a movie, I read, occasionally like to play the penny slots. I love to travel when time allows, road trips are the best.

Morning Person or Night Person?
Night person for sure, always have been.

Coffee, tea or other drink to get you moving in the morning?
Coffee, ask anyone who knows me…

What is coming up from you in 2013? Anything you want to tease us with?
There are more series books coming out, as well as some novellas with Rebel Ink Press. If You Love Me, and a sequel to that one, A Woman Like Her. I also have a Christmas novella coming called A Holiday Hideaway. And then there’s that one under the new pen name which I’ll talk about another time…

Next on the agenda will be finishing my Fab Five series, and possibly a few other things in between…

I had my first book signing recently and more are in the works. I have a new street team, Anna’s Fab Friends, who are working on promoting for me. So lots of exciting things on the horizon for Anna.

Anything else you want to add?

Remember Our Promise by Anna Kristell

Lily Wells has been in love with David Black since she was fifteen years old. When she was eighteen, he broke her heart, leaving her with a promise that the year they turned thirty, if neither was married, they would find a way to reconnect. As fate would have it, twelve years later, while she is in her hometown for her grandmother’s funeral, she runs into David.

Still as breathtakingly handsome as ever, now a prominent Texas attorney, he makes it clear he’s a confirmed bachelor. After one perfect, romantic weekend together, Lily returns to her job as the acquisitions editor for a New York City publishing house, knowing that a life with David is still her heart’s desire.

Believing that to him she’s only one of his many female companions and that he has no recollection of the promise she’s clung to for the past twelve years, she goes on with her life in the Big Apple. She and David remain in contact with each other, however, seemingly growing closer. Will he break her heart a second time or is it possible that she’s misreading the signs?

Teaser Excerpt:
“We’re young and we have our whole lives ahead of us. We should take a break from each other, at least for a while.”
She looked at him in disbelief. “What exactly are you trying to tell me, David?”
“We have four years of college ahead of us in different states. How are we going to see each other?  We’ll be thousands of miles away from each other. Neither of us needs to be tied down right now.”
“Are you breaking up with me?” she asked, not believing the words she was hearing.
“Don’t you think it makes sense?” He looked at her with a serious look on his face and gently removed her hand from his thigh. He lifted her hand to his lips and planted a tender kiss on her palm.
“No, I don’t. I will always find a way to be with you. We can email and call and get together on holidays,” she argued vehemently.
“Lily Beth, think about it. You’ll be in Chicago and I’ll be in Dallas. We may not even be home at the same times. Yes, we can still email and call, but what kind of life would either of us have if we have to be apart for all important school functions. We won’t be able to attend any of those together. I think it’s for the best that we stay in touch but agree to see other people.”
As tears welled up in her amethyst-gray eyes, she replied, “If that’s the way you want it, then fine. Don’t feel obligated to stay in touch.”
“Babe, don’t talk like that.” He leaned over to kiss her.
She tried to pull away but he pulled her to him. She gave in to the kiss, losing herself in it as she always did. When he released her she said, “I love you, David, and I always will.”
“You think that now but you don’t know that once you get to Illinois you won’t meet someone else.”
“I won’t ever love anyone as much as I love you,” she answered softly.
“Then let’s make a promise.”
“What kind of promise?” she asked, looking at him warily.
“In twelve years, when we both turn thirty, we’ll find a way to reconnect.” He caressed her cheek and went on. “If we’re both unattached then we’ll find out if this is the real thing or not. And if it is, I’ll buy you the prettiest diamond engagement ring I can find and we’ll get married, just like you want.”
“Twelve years?” She looked at him as if she thought he had lost his mind.
“Yes, Lily Beth, that gives us plenty of time to finish school, establish our careers, and experiment with dating other people, maybe even see the world a little,” he stated seriously.
“Shall we shake on it?” she proposed sarcastically.
“How about we kiss on it?” he asked as he took her in his strong arms again.

My Personal Review for Game Over by Cassandre Dayne

Get ready for a story that will steal your heart and stir your senses...it's time for Game Over.

My Rating for Game Over: 4 Stars

Tony Dartanion and Caelen Tomlin have been lovers for months but Caelen is tired of being Tony's dirty little secret. When their issues come to a boiling point, Police Detective Tony Dartanion will have to choose- live a partial life or embrace who he is and let his relationship with Caelen come out but will Tony's fears be more than he can handle and will thee two find themselves adrift and without one another?

I absolutely adore Cassandre Dayne. Not just because she is a wonderful friend but wow, can she write. Game Over is a strong, romantic and wickedly sexy tale of two people who find themselves at a crossroads. This is an author who knows her characters and gives them a chance to shine-warts and all. Tony is a man trying to live in two worlds and it's tearing him and his relationship with Caelen apart. Can he let his fears go and let himself love Caelen without worrying he will lose his job? This is a story of a man determined to right the wrongs he caused, show a lover they are the one they love and need and finally, find the strength to move onto a path he has ignored for years. I loved these two guys together. They were hot, sexy and they complimented one another. Tony is straight laced yet he longs to give Caelen what he needs and desires-dark kinky desires. Caelen is a man fed up with the entire relationship. If he isn't acknowledged by Tony, he was gone. It hurt too much to be this secret boyfriend. He wanted a full, loving relationship-period. Cassandre Dayne delves into a world where sexy, kinky things are there and lets these two work things out....one kiss at a time.

Cassandre Dayne is one magical storyteller and the twist mid-way through the book let me racing to see what would happen next. A few secondary characters had me intrigued and I am hoping the author delves back into this fascinating world she created. With each page I turned, I was drawn more and more into this story, hoping that these two would be able to work things out and have their own happily ever after. The story is tight, characters multi-dimensional and the sex scenes are plentiful yet don't overwhelm the reader. I got to admit, you will need a cold shower or your significant other after reading this...it is that hot and sexy.

If you are looking for a wild ride from start to finish, then grab Game Over and settle in for a story that steals your heart. I look forward to seeing what else this author has in store for her readers in the future.

Welcome Lila Munro and her hero from Assumed Master, Dante Larson

Please give a warm welcome to Dante Larson from Assumed Master, book 4 Identity series, by Lila Munro today as we sit down and see what makes him/her tick.

Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the crosshairs for your author?

I placed myself there. When Lila wrote Assumed Identity, book 3 in her series, I hung around in the shadows watching and waiting. You see, I always knew I wanted Julie Stephens, but I have a husband and Lila wasn’t sure how that was going to work. I waited patiently, which was hard because I’m the furthest thing from patient, for a while to see if she’d figure it out on her own and when she didn’t I did what any good, impatient Dom does. I demanded. What did she think would happen marrying Julie off to an old man? Eventually she would be let husbandless. Let’s just be realistic. Of course, I always thought I’d hook Julie on my own without any help, but Mason had one last wish and had to have it his way. I’ve been asked a few times what exactly it is I do for a living as Lila fails to specifically spell it out, so I’ll tell you. I’m here to tell, right? I’m a history professor. Shocked? So was I when I found out.

Q: What was it that drew you to your mate?

Which one? J Blake, my husband. Well, what’s not to love about him? He’s a good looking man and completely submissive to a fault. He’s a terrific cook, I knew he’d be great father material—and he is, and he loves Julie as much as I do, he just doesn’t want to sleep with her. Julie—she’s a challenge. I love a challenge. She’s submissive yes, but she seems to think she can top from the bottom and I couldn’t help but believe I could break her of that habit. She’s also great mother material, she gives until it hurts, and she also cooks. I never go hungry I can assure you.

Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your partner(s)?

Being as we’re players in a very unconventional world, not much is considered wild since we’ve had sex in front of plenty of other people at various parties. However, exhibitionism on that level isn’t quite the same as, say sex in a public place—a quick hand job under a table in a restaurant…

Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?

I myself am a boxers type guy, but I prefer Blake to go commando. Easy access and all.

Q: If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick he/she can play?

The brat game. If either of them get bratty, it’s on. That’s just an easy excuse for painful punishments. J

Q: What is the one place on your partner's body that you know will drive them wild-in and out of bed?

Let’s see. For Blake it’s the ears and for Julie there’s this little concave spot on the inside of her knee, one quick flick of the tongue and she’s a pliable wad of clay.

Q: What was one of the most embarrassing thing your author did to you in Assumed Master?

Made me look like an ass when she revealed a secret about Julie which Blake had been hiding for years and I should have known all along.

Thank you Dante for joining us on 'Meet the Character' day here at my blog. Please find Assumed Master by Lila Munro at Rebel Ink Press.

We may be born to the lifestyle,

Julie Stevens and Dante Larson always knew their tastes were a bit more eccentric than those of the average person, but acknowledgement of their chosen paths came at different times. While their lives have run parallel for the last twenty years, destiny always came knocking at the wrong time. Julie was a closeted edge player and before Dante could pull her free of her fears, Mason came along and dragged her kicking and screaming from her self-inflicted darkness, leaving Dante wanting. Although Dante’s been in love with Julie since the day he first laid eyes on her, he's happily married to Blake. But the tides are turning.

But Lady Fate dictates how it should be lived…

Still mourning the death of the only Master she’s ever known, Julie finds herself forced to live with the one man she’s been terrified of for years, Dante. While she has to admit something between them feels right, just as many things feel very, very wrong, starting with the fact he’s married to her gay best friend. Before she even has time to sort out her current predicament, another man catches Julie's attention. But after losing her mother, her sister, and her husband, can Julie come to grips with the fact that Keegan D’Amate jumps out of perfectly good helicopters for a living, rescue diving for the Coast Guard? And where exactly does that leave Dante, who knows for sure he needs a woman to complete his unconventional marriage? Quite frankly, he's tired of waiting.

Welcome BL Morticia Today

What’s sexy about a man in uniform?

Greetings fans and welcome to another BL here at Dawn’s place. Thanks for having me.

Today, I wanted to talk about how sexy it is to see a man in uniform. In particular, Navy garb since my first full length novella, My Lieutenant is a Silver Star on ARE and was in the top 5 of gay mainstream romance books. *squee*

What’s so great about the matching pants and jacket? Or the cap that fits comfortably on his head? The top one, not the bottom one. *grins*

The style of the jacket that has the rows of gold buttons, making it even harder to remove when you want to ravage him. How about the slacks? Nicely fitted, not hanging off his behind like some younger guys wear their trousers. GROSS Nope. Nicely snug in all the right places, especially the crotch.

How about the fact everything must be in order before they pass “the inspection.” That story is next on the list! *wink* All the armed forces have that but the Navy is more spiffy than all the others.

How can you contain yourself when looking at such hotness? I already adore a man in a suit and tie. Yes, I like the rock and rollers but if a hot man wore his Navy garb versus a metalhead, I’d quickly go to the Navy man.

Who are some of your fave men to look at in uniform? Well, I’m not a big fan of Prince William but he looks pretty good here.

Alex Loughlin? Oh I love this one! He looks great…very sexy!

This is classic! Richard Gere in Officer and a Gentleman. HOT STUFF. The movie is one of my faves.

I’m sure there are more but I don’t want to keep rattling. *laughs*

What is my Silver Star My Lieutenan? It’s about a discharged officer who’s exploring his gay side and falls in love with a man in his own building. The catch? This man, Nathan, doesn’t want to be in a relationship with someone that isn’t totally gay.

It’s a hilarious tale with the sarcasm you would expect from this wicked girl!

Let me give you a taste and thanks to Dawn for giving me the chance to babble and promote this fab story.

PG Excerpt

I kept walking through in horror as I saw all my personal belongings strewn about. My latest sketches torn to bits. “Goddamnit!”  I heard a knock at my door.

“Who is it,” I called out in a menacing tone, trouncing through shredded paper.

The officer looked at me then in the direction of the doorway. “That’s the man that captured the thieves.”

I cocked an eyebrow and turned around.  “Well Hello!”

A very tall, dark, and handsome bald headed man was standing there with a pearly white smile.

“Hey, listen, I caught the guys that went through your things.” He smiled and nodded.

“Seriously?” I opened up the door slowly only to lock eyes with the most, gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on.

Fuck!

He  moistened his lips. “Hey, I’m new to the building. My name’s Bryant Duncan.” He put out his hand.

A black Irishman?

I accepted it. His hands were warm but kind of rough just the way I like them. That moment, his skin on top of mine sent heat to my groin. I took a whiff of his cologne. “Nice to meet you, Mr…”

“Call me Bryant, please,” he interrupted me. “Like I was sayin’, I saw the bastards going through your place. When they saw me, they tried to get away but, I called the cops once I got the building security to come up and help detain them.”

Holy shit, my hero…

“You didn’t have to.” I was completely impressed that he cared enough to put his life on the line.

We stood silent a minute.

“Ahem.” The cop came up behind me. “Okay sir, I need you to come down to the station and give a statement. If you could meet me downstairs.” Thiesmann adjusted his belt. “Mr. Duncan, nice work and um, Mr…”

“Ellerby, Nathan Ellerby.” I offered my hand.

The cop took my hand lightly. “Mr. Ellerby, don’t be too long okay?”

He walked back through the door and struggled to crawl under the tape. When I saw that I wanted to laugh but I had more important matters in front of me.

I gazed at him.

“I’m sorry, and you said your name was…” Bryant raised an eyebrow.

“Oh shit, erm.” I cleared my throat, noticing our hands were still locked together. “Nathan, Nathan Ellerby.”

We gripped each other’s palm tightly. “Good to meet you, Nathan.” He released my hand and my gaze then reached into his back pocket of his loose, fitting jeans.

I couldn’t help but follow his arms. They were so big, muscular. I could imagine them cradling me during the night.

“Here we go. My number just in case you need me for anything,” he grinned.

I took the piece of paper, still gawking at those lovely brown eyes. I tried to keep myself from drooling. “Man, I don’t know how to thank you.”

Bryant waved his hand, smiling. “No problem, man. I live right down the hall. I just happened to be on my way out to run some errands.”

“Yeah?” I leaned against the door frame. Suddenly, the robbery seemed less important.

“Yeah, those fools were doing it in the middle of the afternoon.”

“Interesting.” I licked my lips, looking away for a moment. I wanted to continue talking to Bryant, but Thiesmann was waiting on me. “Listen, umm, again, I don’t know how to thank you for what you’ve done. It was very brave of you.”

Bryant smiled, “Like I said, no biggie.” He put his hands together and rubbed them briskly.

This time my eyes didn’t follow. I tried to think of something else to say to keep his attention. “I, um…I need to figure out a way to repay you for this. Maybe, I could take you out to dinner or something?”

Bryant grinned, nodding. “Yeah, maybe we can have a bite to eat. If you need my statements or anything, make sure you use that card and give me a call,” he said before disappearing back down the hallway.

“Thanks so much, Bryant. I’ll be calling you to setup that dinner.”

“Cool.” He backed away. “See ya, Nathan.”

“Bye,” I said, watching his cute backside make its way down to apartment 17D. “Shii…” I mouthed to myself after I closed my door, grinning like a Cheshire cat. The man was my hero, in the span of five minutes I was in love.

Thank goodness for petty crime!
