Release Day Review: Witching Moon by Yasmine Galenorn #WildHuntSeries, #AnteFaeAdventure

Enter the world of the Wild Hunt and the Ante-Fae as Typhoon's emissaries begin to cause issues and Raven, bone witch Ante-Fae tries to recover from being in the grip of a serial killer.

My Rating for Witching Moon: 4.5 Stars and a Series Recommended Read

Find Witching Moon at Amazon

My Review as follows:

For the Ante-Fae bone witch, Raven, her experience with a serial killer has left her shaken and as she enjoys her new friendship with Ante-Fae Trinity, she finds herself drawing closer to the edge than ever before. Trinity has his secrets and he threatens Raven’s relationship with Kipa, Lord of the Wolves as well as her friends. When Raven’s recklessness causes issues and even more danger, can she find a way to help her friends and come back to herself as she deals with nightmares’ and memories that threaten everything she holds dear? And will the price be Raven’s life?

WITCHING MOON follows up after Sun Broken ended and it is everything I love from this author and more. We get new characters to meet and enjoy, find out how everyone fared after Sun Broken (Wild Hunt book 11) ended and the aftereffects that affect everyone involved. What I love about this author is how much character growth goes into the books as they move along.  Each time I pick up one of this author’s books, I am awed by her world building and character development. I love how diverse and unique the world and characters are in the Wild Hunt series. It is filled with life-like characters t hat fairly brim with energy and leap out of the pages while I read the books. I always want to know more about them and how much each has grown within the series books. The author’s worldbuilding is amazing as it seems so massive on scale and yet works perfectly within the series as we find out more about the principal players in the series as well as the surrounding scenery.

WITCHING MOON picks up a few months after Raven’s run in with Pandora and her madness. Filled with nightmares, anxiety episodes and more, Raven has tried to move past it but cannot as it impacts every part of her life, From her relationship with Kipa to her friends.  I loved how Raven could not walk this one off as much as forget it as well. It was nice to see how Raven dealt with something or someone more powerful than she. It gave me a better sense of who this character is, and I loved how dark she became as she dealt with her memories and terrors. Yasmine Galenorn delivers a darker book in the series but one that works perfectly in my opinion with moving the overreaching story ARC in the Wild Hunt Series and kept me glued to the pages till the very end. I loved every aspect of Raven’s journey to healing from this traumatic event and trying to repair the relationships she damaged by pushing them away during her time of afterwards. The author does a great job in capturing Raven and other’s unease and helplessness as they try to help Raven deal with everything that happened in Sun Broken.

WITCHING MOON delivers a wonderful addition to the series and I loved meeting new Ante-Fae to enjoy and I am really loving Raven’s mother as well. She was a hoot to see in action. If you are looking for a wild, unique series that will leave you breathless than grab the first book in the Wild Hunt series, The Silver Stag and get ready to be drawn into a world so amazing, you won’t want to leave it. I can’t wait to see where the author goes in the series and with her beloved characters. I do recommend reading this right from book one as each book capitalizes on the past ones. It will be easier to understand the whole story ARC that is making its way through them.

Author Bio:
Marie Rydzynski was born on March 28 in West Germany to Polish parents. She moved to America at the age of four. For an entire year, Marie and her family explored the eastern half of the country before finally settling in New York.

Marie swears she was born writing, "which must have made the delivery especially hard for my mother." From an early age, Marie's parents would find her watching television or tucked away in some private place, writing at a furious pace. "Initially, I began writing myself into my favourite shows. I was a detective on '77 Sunset Strip,' the missing Cartwright sibling they never talked about on 'Bonanza' and the 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.' before there was a 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,' not to mention an active participant in the serialized stories of 'The Mickey Mouse Club.'" Marie began to write her first romance novel when she was 11 years old, although she claims that, at the time, she didn't even realize it was a romance! She scribbled off and on, while dreaming of a career as an actress.

Marie was only 14 when she first laid eyes on the man she would marry, truly her first love, Charles Ferrarella. During her days at Queens College, New York, acting started to lose its glamour as Marie spent more and more time writing. After receiving her English degree, specialising in Shakespearean comedy, Marie and her family moved to Southern California, where she still resides today.

After an interminable seven weeks apart, Charles decided he couldn't live without her and came out to California to marry his childhood sweetheart. Ever practical, Marie was married in a wash-and-wear wedding dress that she sewed herself, appliqués and all. "'Be prepared' has always been my motto,"the author jokes. This motto has been stretched considerably by her two children, Nikky and Jessi, "but basically, it still applies," she says.

In November of 1981, she sold her first novel for Harlequin. Marie, who now has written over 150 novels, has one goal: to entertain, to make people laugh and feel good. "That's what makes me happy," she confesses. "That, and a really good romantic evening with my husband." She's keeping her fingers crossed that her reader's enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoyed writing them.

Book Review- Fatal Threat by Marie Force

When Sam and Nick find out aa threat has been issued against their family, they'll stop at nothing to get tot he bottom of it all. But even they are shocked at how their pasts figure in on it. Get ready as Lt. Sam Holland finds herself pushed to the brink as she deals with  murder and tries to keep her family safe even as someone is determiend to destroy not just her but also her husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano.

My Rating for FATAL THREAT: 5 Stars and a Recommended Read.

When Lt. Sam Holland is called to a routine homicide scene, she never anticipated that the Secret Service would come and whisk her away to an undisclosed place. A threat was made against her family, her husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano and now the chaos of being the second lady of the United States hits Sam hard. With no answers to who made the threat or even why, Sam finds that her and Nick’s past are about get front and center as Sam races against the clock to figure it all out. Because nothing is going to harm her family, not if Sam has anything to say about it.

Wow! Just wow is all I can say after finishing this wonderfully addicting story by one of my favorite authors around. With her trademark style, Ms. Force delivers a wild, action packed ride as Sam, Nick and all their friends try to figure out the just who is determined to cause them so much trouble and why they are doing it. With a few twists, I sure didn’t see coming, the story flows along, picking up speed like a runaway train and the reader goes along with Sam for the ride. I got to admit, FATAL THREAT, just pulled me in and didn’t let up even after I finished the book. It drew laughter, a few blushes, a few tears and more as I flipped the pages and gasped with each twist that came within the pages. Ms. Force is a talented storyteller and is on par with Nora Roberts and Jill Shalvis. With captivating characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, storylines that feel like they are ‘ripped from the headlines’ and told in such a way that you can’t help but cheer when the bad guy(s) are taken down.

FATAL THREAT is a story that delves into Sam and Nick’s past in a way that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat till the very end. It’s heart stopping as well as intriguing, I just couldn’t put it down. It kept me riveted to the kindle even as I discovered my old friends and met a few new ones that I found interesting and I am really hoping the author goes into more detail about them and how they fit in Sam’s world in future books. The characters are what makes this series so entertaining and downright addicting. They are well written, wildly different yet are just about perfect scheme of things and you can’t help but fall in love with each one of them. From book one, Fatal Affair, I fell in love with this author and she has not disappointed me yet, especially with this series. This is an author who knows when to let her characters just run with the story even as they weave a spell around the reader. I love how complex and so lifelike these characters are. I could see Sam running hellbent after a suspect or seeing them visit her father with her husband and son. This is an author who lets the characters shine, no matter what and that right there cements this author as one of the best storytellers around. She gives the characters flaws and is not afraid to reveal them to the readers. I love that about Ms. Force’s work and more, I love how she can keep the characters growing with each book. Sometimes stories and characters start to stagnate and get old quickly-not with the Fatal series. Each book moves the story of Sam and Nick along nicely as well as adding in sub-plots of other characters romances/issues/family, etc. It’s like living in a real world and one I adore revisiting repeatedly.

FATAL THREAT is not just a wonderful story, it’s an adventure that will leave you breathless, even as the climatic ending will make you gasp in shock. I am so eager for the next book that I pre-ordered it just to make sure I get it when it comes out in 2018. If you haven’t tried this series yet, please run-don’t walk-to grab the books. You won’t be disappointed at all. I highly recommend this author’s work and hope you check out her books. There is something for everyone in her backlist.

Book Review- Moon Shimmers by Yasmine Galenorn

What an exciting begining to the final three books in the Otehrworld Series by talented storyteller, Yasmine Galenorn. Hold onto your hats, folks, the final battel is about to start.

My Rating for Moon Shimmers: 5 Stars and Series is a Recommended Read!

Before Camille can fulfill her destiny as Fae Queen of Dusk and Twilight, she needs to travel back to the Otherworld to find the fabled Keraastar Diamond. That magical gem will help her take control over the Keraastar Knights so we can go to the final battle against the demon lord, Shadow Wing. But first she’ll have to travel the dangerous Tygerian Mountains and face a magical trial by fire. If she succeeds, the life she leads will change in that instant. If she fails, well, let’s just say get ready for the forces of Shadow Wing to overcome all. But in the face of all adversity, Camille can count on her three husbands, her sisters and close family & friends to keep her from giving into her fear. Because this is war and the final battel against Shadow Wing is coming, whether they like it or not.

Wow, is all I can say in the first book in the final three books in this acclaimed and thrilling series by author Yasmine Galenorn. She delivers a pulse pounding ride from start to finish. I laughed, I cried, then smiled just a bit more as I flipped through the pages of MOON SHIMMERS. This author knows how to deliver a story and weave a spell around her readers right from the start. I adore this author’s books and this series was in fact my first taste of her writing. The world-building is just phenomenal, the characters continue to grow and evolve as the series moves along to the final three books in the spirit seals story arc and the writing is just beyond compare. MOON SHIMMERS deliver so much within the pages of it that I cannot help but be eager for the next book which is Delilah’s story, Harvest Song (out in 2018). I do want to say that you need to read this in order to get the full effect of the spirit seals arc.

Camille D’Artigo is a half-human, half-fae witch who has been on the front lines against Shadow Wing, a demon lord, bent on destroying Earth and the Otherworld. If Camille, her sisters, Delilah and Menolly along with their significant others, family and friends, can’t stop him then all will be lost. I fell in love with these three sisters right from the first book, Witchling. I was enamored by the fast pace story-line, intriguing concept of a story arc and characters that just brim to life with each book in the series you pick up. The author is a masterful storyteller and one who knows how to weave a spell around the readers as they turn the pages of MOON SHIMMERS and previous books in the series to captivate them till the very end of the book. With each page of the latest Otherworld novel, I was alongside these wonderful characters as they faced danger yet again but the core of who they are evolved and yet stayed the same. With each book in the series, the author continues the Spirit Seals arc and in the final triad of books, will deliver the biggest bang in the series and it starts with MOON SHIMMERS.

If you have been hesitant in trying this author out, I highly recommend reading her if you love urban fantasy/paranormal stories that steal your heart with captivating characters, an intriguing story-line that steals your senses and romance that will melt your panties off. I highly recommend this author if you enjoy dragons, fae, vampires and more as this author’s world-building is phenomenal and on par to JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood or Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters Series. MOON SHIMMERS deliver a start in the final triad of books in this series and I, for one, am anxious to see how it ends. Run-don’t walk-to grab this enduring and well written series for your reading enjoyment.
