The Hebrides, Scotland
I don’t know whether we’ll get up to Skye, Iona, Harris and Lewis on my fiftieth birthday Scottish tour, but I hope so. From Fairy Pools, (“cascading waterfalls through carved rock which empty into vivid turquoise pools”), to the Abbey and Celtic cross on Iona, to the Callanish Standing Stones (“erected in the late Neolithic era, and a focus for ritual activity during the Bronze Age”) I have so much I want to see.
Luskentyre Beach on Harris has been voted one of the best in the world, and there is nothing I like more than standing on a beach and listening to the sea. I plan on sitting the entire day and just watching the ocean (depends on weather!).
I fell in love with the standing stones when they were used in an Ultravox video back in the eighties, and also featured heavily in the art for their album. I loved the idea they had of landing on an island on the small ferry and visiting the stones. I’ve been to Stonehenge (many times), and I’d love to think that the Callanish Standing Stones are less touristy. Fingers crossed. Of course, being a fan of the Diana Gabaldon books, I don’t like to get too close to any standing stones anywhere… LOL.
My newest release, Kissing Alex, is the sixth book in my Bodyguards series. The setting for this book is the fictional island of Stoirmeil (The stormy isle) just off the west coast of Scotland.
Title: Kissing Alex
Series: Bodyguards Inc #6
Author: R.J. Scott
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: April 25, 2016
Can Lewis keep Alex safe, even when things usually in his control go to hell? Is running to a remote Scottish island the only way for them to stay alive?
RJ Scott has been writing since age six when she was made to stay in at lunchtime for an infraction involving cookies and was told to write a story. Two sides of A4 about a trapped princess later, a lover of writing was born. She reads anything from thrillers to sci-fi to horror; however, her first real love will always be the world of romance. From billionaires, bodyguards and cowboys to SEALs, throwaways and veterinarians, she writes passionate stories with a heart of romance, a troubled road to reach happiness, and more than a hint of happily ever after.
