Q) What started your interest
in writing?
A) I've been an avid reader all
my life. My mom used to read me Little Golden books, and I just loved the
stories. From then, I wanted my write my own magical lands and characters. I
still have a few story books from childhood that I love to reread.
Q) What genres do you write in?
A) I write erotica and erotic
romance, and within those genres my writing ranges from contemporary suspense
to paranormal, and futuristic. I love to experiment with world-building and
characters.
Q) What is your book about?
A) My newest release is a
contemporary suspense titled, Bet Your Sweet Aces. It's a sassy story about a
casino owner who's gotten herself into trouble because of secrets and misplaced
loyalty. She's facing a scandal with a married senator and the hero comes along
at just the wrong time to turn her world upside down. I suppose love will do
that to a woman though. *grin* Luckily, the hero is just what she needs in more
ways than one.
Q) Are any of your characters
like you?
A) I'd say there are aspects of
my personality in all my books. In Bet Your Sweet Aces, Eve has a sassy mouth
that I can admit is rather me. I enjoy innuendos and getting men to blush. I
don't know if I flirt much, but being more an alpha female personality, I'm
comfortable with myself.
Q) What was the hardest part of
writing your book?
A) The numerous times I had to
rewrite the story. Bet Your Sweet Aces is a labor of love, but it took several
publisher rejections for me to get the story to be its best. It was all worth
it though.
Q) If you could be any
paranormal creature what would you be?
A) A vampire. I'm not into the
blood thing, but I'm a night person by nature. I'm most creative at night, even
if I have to hold off on writing until the morning.
Q) Do you keep a notebook near
you for when new ideas pop in your head?
A) Actually, I'm a paper
scrapper. My writing area is littered with bits of paper with book ideas,
characters, and/or settings for several different books. I do know where
everything is, but yeah, it isn't pretty. I'll write on scrap of paper when I
get an idea.
Q) Has there been any characters
that started off as supporting characters, but then developed into a more
prominent character?
A) Yes. I'm currently working
on edits to the sequel to Love's Demon Ways, thanks to a supporting character
named Sindriel. He's a demon-bargainer in LDW, but he's just too sexy to not to
have his own book. I think readers will enjoy getting to know him better.
Q) Who is the biggest influence
in your writing?
A) I have an amazing support
system of family and friends, but writer-wise I'd say fellow author, Kari
Thomas, is my biggest influence. She's a great paranormal romance author and I
try to keep up with her. She and I challenge one another to keep writing when
the other falters. I hope to someday be as successful as her.
Q) How do you relax after a day
writing?
A) Actually, writing is my
relaxation. *grin* I can do anything, say anything, make anything happen in my
stories. I love that. It's a great feeling to heal a broken hearted soul, or
punish a butthead. Loneliness and rejection come to an end when it comes to my
stories. I make it worth the fear for my characters to fall in love.
