My Personal Review for Continental Divide by Lisa Worrall & L.E. Harner

When I got to beta read this for the authors a few months before it was set to go live, I was blown away by it. The story. The characters. That simmering sexual tension between Remy and Jamie. *fans face* Get ready for one pulse pounding ride in Continental Divide.

My Rating for Continental Divide: 5 Stars and a Recommended Read

Detective Remington was thrust into the Missing Person unit as punishment from his Captain over a past case. But after looking into a case where six boys have gone missing, in different parts around Phoenix, Remy is determined to figure out what and who is causing this.

Inspector Jamie Mainwearing is deep in the case of six missing kids as well. Six kids-six months and he feels he is missing something. All were reported as runaways yet Jamie knew there was something wrong with this picture.

When Remy and Jamie are put on a secret task force and forced to go undercover, well sparks fly, passion blazes hotter than the sun and these two will have to figure out the case, their hearts and more before the danger behind these kidnappings comes knocking at their door.

The whole story as a whole is wonderful. Action packed, emotionally charged and oh my god, Remy and Jamie are to die for apart but when they are together on the pages, wow is all I can say. These two are smoldering apart but when they come together-pure combustion. These two authors created something so wonderful, compelling and delightful, I couldn’t tear myself away from it long enough to even go to sleep. I needed to see what would happen next for Remy, Jamie and the case they were working on. The writing flowed smoothly, the characters were very well defined and completely captured my heart and oh man, the sexual tension between these two, I was afraid my e-reader would explode from it all.

Remy is a detective, strong, tough yet he is broken inside. He refuses to get close to anyone yet the minute he meets Jamie....wow....all bets are off. Jamie is able to get under his skin, make his defenses crack open and the sparks that fly between these two *shakes fingers* smoking hot. Jamie was the opposite-spoiled rich boy determined to go against tradition and make his own way in the world. He grabs onto love and relationships with both hands and is determined that he will get a happily ever after...he just never anticipated Remy to drive him completely nuts. These two play off each other extremely well. The reader can get a sense of both men-inside and out-within the story and I couldn't get enough of them. The characters-event he bad guys-are well written, fairly brim with life and step off the pages and into your living room with ease.

The subject matter is difficult to read (Child Sex Trafficking) yet the authors pull no punches in the story and show the evil it is in a way that had me flipping the pages just to see what happened next. The strength these two have together and apart while trying to chase down the bad guys, it made the story very real and I have to admit, has me reaching for it again.  I got to caution you, if you are looking for a HEA (happily ever after) type of story, you won’t find it here. There is a big cliffhanger at the end that had my jaw gaping open and then running to the authors’ websites hoping book two is coming out soon.

I am eager to see what else these two come up with for my new favorite guys, Jamie and Remy. I urge you to run-don't walk to grab this one as fast as you can and make sure to block out a whole day to read it...I can guarantee that you won't want to put it down to find food, water or sleep.

Welcome Lisa Worrall Today

Thank you to Dawn for having me over at her place today to entice you all with a teaser from my brand new release, Always Hope, which is available now (a day early) on Amazon!  I will get to Always Hope in a little while… but first…
Have you ever wondered how little stories are passed down through the years, or wondered who started them first?  I don’t just mean old wives’ tales because, obviously, they were started by old wives… but little anecdotes your Dad used to tell you?

When I was a kid, my Dad told me many a wild story that had me shaking my head and thinking I was definitely adopted – because there was no way I could be related to this whackjob!  These included how he fought for his country in WW2, where we used to sit transfixed at his feet listening to the ribald stories of bombs and the blitz… only to realise at a later date that he was SIX when the war started!  Oh and the one where he explained that the he got the scar on his shin when he drove over a land mine on his National Service – only to be told years later that he actually got it falling onto a bus!
But I was at a friend’s the other night and she was telling us how her brother had just bought her youngest son a fabulous book explaining why dogs sniff each other’s bottoms.  Before she could continue I said, “Wow, my Dad told me that story eons ago.” And I went on to say how the dogs were all having a party and they had to hang their bums up at the door and then there was a fire and so they all grabbed to nearest bum and legged it – only to find they had the wrong one.  So that’s why dog’s sniff each other – because they’re looking for the right bum!  My friend ran upstairs and brought down the book and I read it, aloud because that’s what you do when you’re four sheets to the wind, and it was exactly the same story my Dad told me.

It made me smile while I was reading it.  Firstly because it was wonderful to think that this story has been going around for something like a gazillion years and someone stopped and thought, that would make a great book so children everywhere could read it.  And secondly, because it reminded me of sitting on the floor between my brother and sister and listening with open mouths as my Dad told us about the day the dogs took home the wrong bums.

So if you want to read the 2010 version, pop over to Amazon and look for Peter Bentley’s “The Great Dog Bottom Swap.”  You’re children will be glad you did.

Now… for the grown ups… a little teaser from Always Hope.

BLURB:

Ash Watts has his life exactly how he wants it: burgeoning career, gorgeous boyfriend, and an apartment with a fabulous view of LA. But his perfect world comes crashing down around his ears when he learns of his only sister's untimely death. A small town isn't all he finds when he lands in Freedom, Alabama for Annie's funeral. This small town is brimming with secrets; secrets that could change Ash's life forever.

Kaleb Gibson, honest-to-God cowboy, and native of Freedom, born and bred, found his best friend the moment Annie Watts breezed into town. Her death left a gaping hole in his heart, and while Annie's brother may have her same dark hair and green eyes, Kaleb refuses to lose his heart all over again, and he can’t forgive the man for neglecting his sister when she needed him most.

Revelations from Annie's Will throw Kaleb and Ash together in ways they never imagined. Will Kaleb be able to carry out Annie’s last wishes without killing her beloved brother and without revealing a secret from his own past that could destroy everything? And will Ash stick around long enough to see that Freedom may hold an even more perfect life than he could have imagined?

EXCERPT:
The clock on the dashboard indicated it was almost four and the California sun was high in the sky when Mason pulled into the underground parking lot of Ash’s condo. Their arms full of backpacks and camping paraphernalia, the two men rode the elevator up to the fifteenth floor and then walked down the hall to Ash’s apartment. Inside, they dumped everything in the hall and Ash headed to the kitchen in search of beer before they attempted anything else. Mason had already made himself comfortable on the sofa, his legs over the arm as he flicked through his blackberry and checked the myriad of messages, from clients and colleagues alike, he’d received while they’d been away.
“Here you go, hot stuff,” Ash drawled, flopping down on the cushion Mason wasn’t occupying and let his fingers drift through the soft strands of Mason’s strawberry blond hair. “Jesus, couldn’t those rich bitches survive without you?” he asked, noting the number of messages his boyfriend still scrolled through.
“You said it yourself,” Mason grinned, tilting his head to look at Ash, “hot stuff, in demand.”
“Oh, right.” Ash shook his head and said sarcastically, “Must be such a curse.”
“I’m glad to see you’re noticing all the sacrifices I make,” Mason countered, then swore loudly. “Listen to this. Marianne Wheatley, you know she’s on that long running soap thing, I don’t even remember what it’s called, piece of crap is so dire—anyway, she needs me to call desperately because her ex took the dog for the weekend as per their agreement and he failed to return him. Fucking thing’s a cocker-poo for God’s sake, not a kid.” Tossing his blackberry onto the soft carpet, he shifted so that his head rested on Ash’s lap. “Remind me why I deal with these people?”
Ash smoothed his fingers over the frown Mason was now sporting and smiled softly. “Because they pay you ridiculous amounts of money so that you can keep me in a manner I am totally unaccustomed to,” he said without missing a beat, leaning down to capture his lover’s lips.
“Oh yeah,” Mason replied, “I knew there was a good reason.”
Ash kissed him again and sighed into the kiss as Mason’s tongue teased along the seam of his lips, and Ash gladly opened to him, licking his way into Mason’s mouth, chasing his tongue back into its dark cavern. He slid a hand beneath the hem of the other man’s T-shirt and his gut tightened at the low growl coming from Mason’s throat. Sliding his hand higher, his fingers found the flat disc of Mason’s nipple and pinched the sensitive flesh between a thumb and forefinger.
“Jesus—”
He didn’t find out what else Mason had planned to say, because of the loud banging at the front door. “Come on,” Ash complained with a whine. “We’re still on vacation until tomorrow, for crying out loud.”
With a rueful smile, Mason pressed a quick kiss to Ash’s lips and pushed himself up, “I’ll go, you stay there and look as sexy as hell.”
A few moments later, the front door closed and Mason’s bare feet slapped on the wooden flooring of the hallway as he returned to the living-room. Ash waited with his eyes closed and his head tipped back on the sofa cushion, a smile playing around his mouth. “Come on, hot stuff. I’m waiting,” he said in a parody of a come hither tone.
“Ash.”
The way Mason said his name gave Ash the immediate feeling that he shouldn’t open his eyes. Every fiber of his being told him not to move. Whatever had caused Mason to sound like that couldn’t be good.
“Ashdon Watts?”
Ash didn’t recognize the second voice and he forced his eyes open, a fist tightening around his heart as he gazed up into the far too sympathetic gaze of an LA cop. He swallowed past the lump in his throat which may well have been his heart, he wasn’t sure. Ash nodded, unable to vocalize a response—this is bad, this is very bad. The way Mason sank onto the cushion beside him and gripped his hand tightly, wasn’t helping.
“I’m sorry, Mr Watts. I have some difficult news. There’s been an accident.”

My Personal Review for Chasing the Dream Anthology

Chasing the Dream is an anthology that will tease, tantalize and in the process, steal your heart. Five authors, five unique stories that will leave you wondering on how to chase your own dream.

Now onto my personal review of Chasing The Dream....

Sue Brown's Racing Raindrops tells a story of a closeted gay man who takes a chance in going into a gay bar on a stormy night. What happens next is something Tony DiMarco is not expecting.

GA Hauser's Nasty Boys is a hot sexy tale of a fireman who wants to be a porn star and meets a sexy boy named Blaze who stirs his lust. After a hot night of passion, Clyde finds out Blaze has a secret that will rock his world.

Next up is Sammy Jo Hunt's The Soul Awakening. A story of Michael Nolan who finds himself lost and marooned on a dark road one night in Transylvania. Meeting the mysterious and sexy stranger has him turned inside out. But Zander has a secret that will have Michael questioning everything he knows and longing to be with the one man who stolen his heart.

Then in Patricia Logan's Chasing Deuce, we got a long time couple who find their love life is a little stale. Colt has longed to spice things up with his lover Deuce but when he mentions he wants a threesome, he is surprised when Deuce agrees but it has to be one night only. But Slade is the man Colt wants in their bedroom and now the question is, will Slade be the heat these two hunky cowboys need or the one to tear them apart?

Finally in Lisa Worrall's Dreaming of You, Noah Kinkade is offered the chance to restore an old mansion to it's former glory. What  he finds there is something straight out of a dream and has him longing for more.

Chasing the Dream Anthology is a series of stories that have one thing in common-dreams. They can be dream lovers, dreams of riches, families or other things. These five authors deliver an anthology that left me spellbound till the very end. Each author has wonderful stories that will tease and tantalize you as you eagerly flip the pages for more. The writing is tight, the sex smoking hot and the story lines flow smoothly. I loved each story and fell a little bit in love with all the characters in this book. There was no one or two people that stole my heart. It was equally the entire cast of characters within this anthology that stole their way into my heart. Each story was wonderfully written, kept my attention and left me wondering-will these authors write longer stories featuring these characters? I am hoping they will in the future.

The characters, though are in a short story, are well rounded, multidimensional and definitely capture your attention just from their sheer magnetism once they get on the pages. I loved how each of the stories couples’ worked through issues quickly though at times I did want to smack some sense in a few of them just for being stubborn hot heads.

Chasing the Dream anthology starts strong and continues to stay strong with each story that deliver emotions, sexual tension and a love that is meant to be. I loved each and every one and hope these five authors get together again for another project. I can attest that once you start this anthology, you won’t want to put it down…not even to eat dinner or sleep. I can’t wait to see what else these author’s have in store for their readers individually now.

If you are looking for an anthology that will leave you breathless, then try Chasing the Dream. It's a perfect start to see each of these authors' writing style.

My Rating for Chasing the Dream: 4.5 Stars and a recommended read

My Personal Review of A Nanny For Nate by Lisa Worrall

I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I opened A Nanny for Nate this afternoon. It certainly wasn't the story of a broken hearted widower, a sexy nanny and a precarious little boy who stole my heart. I don't know about you but when you have a six foot hunky nanny looking at you, I am not about to say no to him. *grins*

Parker Adams has spent the last year missing his husband, Darren. If it wasn't for Darren and his son, Nate, Parker would have lost it long before now. As it was, Parker lived for his job and for Nate. Period. He closed his heart to finding love again and forget living a life without Darren...he just couldn't do it. So when he finds out that he needs to find a new caregiver for Nate, he sure wasn't expecting Jake, the six foot nanny that leaves his senses reeling and his long dormant feelings revved up.

Lisa Worrall is a "new to me" author and one I am pleased to count as a friend as well. Her latest book delivers a sweet, sexy story that is perfect for one of those hot, lazy Sunday Afternoons....you know..when you laze around in a hammock, relaxing with sweet tea by your side. A Nanny for Nate is one of those books that lives on long after you finish reading it. What really got to me was how you felt the emotions-from pain and grief to happiness to pure panic to love-within its pages. The grief and heartache comes across with Parker and I found myself at times, wishing to comfort him to smacking some sense in him. He is a character that does grow on you after a few pages. Parker can be indecisive yet in the end, he finally admits the feelings he has for Jake that had me grinning ear to ear.

Then there is Jake Walsh. A six foot sex on a stick who is good with kids. I almost swooned when he came onto the scene. He made me laugh and groan as he befriended Nate and Parker and found himself falling in love with both Adams. The scenes with Parker were crackling with heat as both tried to deal with the emotions that were stirred up between them. The sex scenes were sexy as all get out but also tinged with a love that had me sighing in delight even as I flipped the page to see what would happen next.

Overall, A Nanny for Nate is a story I wished were a little bit longer because I wanted to know more. What happened to Jake and Parker after 'The End'? So I am begging Ms. Worrall...pretty please.,.....can we have some more of these wonderful characters????

My Rating for A Nanny for Nate: 4 Stars
