Meet the Susie White from ALPHA ME NOT! by Jianne Carlo

Please give a warm welcome to Susie White from Alpha Me Not by Jianne Carlo today as we sit down and see what makes her tick.

Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the crosshairs for your author?
My motto is ALPHA ME NOT – just like that – IN ALL CAPS.

I grew up in a family dominated by Alpha wolves and decided from early on – no Alphas for me. I hated the way my sister seemed to bend over for her mate *ouch* wrong choice of words there. But, you know what I mean. Who wants a man who says he understands you better than you do yourself?

I’m a modern woman. I may be part of a White Wolf pack, but I’m no submissive and I’m positive I’d hate being under some man’s thumb. I think I protested too loudly in The Call of a Soul and that contrary author heard me.

Q: What was it that drew you to your mate?
*sigh* Joe’s this big, bad-ass mercenary and he’s an expert ballroom dancer. One night we danced under the stars and a full moon. He loves kissing. I mean it. He’ll kiss me for hours, literally. And then there’s the way he adores kids. He told me his neighbor’s kid crawled right into his heart. How can you not fall for a guy like that?

Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your partner(s)?
So far he’s the one doing the seducing. Lordy, we were in this restaurant having dinner, and he dared me to take off my panties. The damned man knows I can’t resist a dare. And then he dared me to *blush* - it’s a wonder I can still do that – pleasure myself – right there and then.

Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?
Comanndo – definitely. There’s nothing more tempting than knowing he’s naked under those jeans. And you get to cop a feel under a table or in a corner. Wicked fun!

Q: If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick he/she can play?
Nuzzle my ear. Gawd, what he does to my ears.

Q: What is the one place on your partner's body that you know will drive them wild-in and out of bed?

His nape. He’s got that wolf-soft spot right at his fuzzy hairline.

Q: What was one of the most embarrassing thing your author did to you in Alpha Me Not?

*Covering face with hands*. Honestly, I’d like to meet Jianne in a dark parking lot.

She had me meet Joe for the first time when I was suntanning nude!

Do you know how many insecurities I had to shed just to try that?

And there he struts across my backyard – my seven foot fenced backyard - nude and wearing nothing but a mouthwatering, ginormous erection.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

Yeah. I want Jianne to tame Joe’s best friend, Tate Gunn. He’s so irritatingly arrogant and know-it-all. And how in heck did a full shifter get to know so much about fashion?

Thank you Susie for joining us on 'Meet the Character' day here at Dawn’s Reading Nook Blog. Please find Alpha Me Not  by Jianne Carlo at Loose-Id.

Blurb:

Grad student Susie White wants no picket fences, no alpha, and no cubs. White wolf woman she may be, but no pack for her, no sireee. Alpha Me Not, that’s her motto. In all caps.

Mercenary and half-breed wolf Joe Huroq’s not looking for a mate. Stop and go screwing, that’s his motto. Hot and  heavy between missions. Then he glimpses his new neighbour tanning nude and the situation explodes.

Literally. Susie’s house is consumed by fire.

What’s Joe to do but offer Susie his hospitality?

Susie can’t resist the temptation of big, bad, mercenary, so she suggests a friends with benefits arrangement which he accepts with an amazing alacrity. The sex is frantic, hot, and frequent. Neither one can keep their hands off the other.

Then children go missing. The fire’s deemed arson. Bodies pile up.

Susie refuses to accept Joe’s mate claim.

How can he keep her safe when she won’t obey a single order?

Alpha Me Not, paranormal contemporary suspense, PG13 excerpt:

“Someone going for a sprint?” A man stuck his head through the laundry room doorway. He limped into the kitchen. “Don’t think my leg’s up to a run. Maybe tomorrow. You must be Susie. I’m Tate.”
She squared her shoulders. This was Joe’s friend? The man could’ve sprung out of a fireman’s top ten calendar photo shoot. Talk about alpha. He oozed testosterone. All the wolves she knew had Native American heritage, dark hair, dark eyes. This man could have posed for Thor with his reddish-blond shoulder-length mane, piercing slate eyes, and cheekbones that would have an Olympic snowboarder drooling.
Her insides flip-flopped. “No way. No fricking way. Tell me he’s not a wolf too.”
“But I am.” Tate gave her no warning at all before he swept her off her feet and planted his mouth over hers. His tongue did nothing for her. No heat pooled in her belly. Her toes didn’t curl. And her mind didn’t fracture.
Too surprised to resist at first, she pushed at the steel of his pectorals and tried to tear her lips away. He opened his mouth wider, and his tongue did a little dance with hers. She bit down.
“Ow!” Tate dropped her like a hot potato, and she stumbled before grabbing the back of a chair for balance.
“Not nice.” Tate’s aggrieved-I’m-innocent expression made her chuckle.
Two seconds later Joe sideswiped Tate with a fist and followed the punch with an uppercut to the man’s stomach. “Touch her again and you’ll end up in the dump.”
Tate bent over at the waist, gasping. He swiped at the blood trickling from the side of his mouth, and gingerly straightened. “I had to do it. Worth it too, to see the rise I got. I’m Tate. Joe’s best friend. Full wolf. I can even shift. You up for it?”
“No.” Gray got right up in Tate’s face. “She’s my little sister. Stick your tongue down her throat once more, and I’ll make sure you never shift again.”
“But it’s okay for Joe to tongue her?” Tate’s lopsided grin and the way his metal-gray eyes gleamed made Susie uneasy. What was the blond Adonis up to?

Blog Tour Stop For Jianne Carlo/Contest

I am so pleased to have Jianne Carlo here, sharing her sexy new cover and celebrating the release TODAY of Deviant Devil. The book blurb alone has me intrigued. *grins* Now if you like sexy alpha males, feisty females, a little bdsm tossed in then get ready for Deviant Devil, Hades Squad Book 3.

Thank you Dawn for inviting me to share an excerpt from my latest release, Deviant Devil, Hades Squad Book #4. It’s been a wild ride with the Hades Squad, and to think that this all began when Loose-Id sent out a call for Christmas song themed books. A Paratrooper in a Pear Tree was born, and then all these buddies of the hero of Paratrooper, crowded my head. Where in heck I came up with Sinner, Lucifer, Devil, Demon, and Satan is still a mystery to me.

Devil’s ornery and charming and I had a blast writing his and Jessica’s tale.
Here’s the blurb:
Devil pulled the auction card from the envelope and read, “One blowjob in a private room. Condom mandatory. Touching only on my part. This is what you didn’t specify. Clothing, position, restraints. Forty-five seconds have elapsed. I can keep you here as long as I want until I come in your mouth, latex covered, as specified.”

The last person Devil expects to see in a BDSM club is the best friend of his buddy’s new wife, Jessica Blaine. The all-American apple pie woman he wants so badly it’s her face he sees every orgasm for the last nine months. Is she playing? Exploring? Tough, she’s on his turf now, she’s put herself up for auction, and by God she’s his for the night.

Jess is scared spit less. She’s going to suck off the man who may have killed, Aung, the college student she mentors who vanished three weeks earlier. When the wrong man, a masked stranger, wins the auction, she has no choice but to proceed. Horrified when she not only responds to the masked stranger, but climaxes, Jess flees.

Devil lets her go fully intending to reel her in. His way.

Excerpt:

This scene takes place after Jessica was won by the wrong man at an auction in a private BDSM club. Forced to hire The Hades Squad to find the student she mentors who’s gone missing, she arranges a meeting for a time when she knows Devil’s supposed to be at a conference. Unfortunately, Devil finds out about the meeting and shows up.

Jess slid Devil an under the lids peek only to shudder when she met his piercing glower. Angry aggression lasered from his narrowed eyes. His forward posture, the way he maximized his body print, arms angled to the table’s edge, shoulders aimed in her direction, spiked goose bumps on her arms and neck.
“Why are you here, Jess?” Devil leaned closer.
Flinching, she shifted away, her rear end sliding off the edge of the chair. She focused on Satan. “I don’t want Devil involved.”
The door banged open.
She didn’t know the man standing in the doorway.
His bulk, military stance, the way he cocked his head, and the three lines of a tattoo doing a hide and seek with his black T-shirt slithered a slimy sensation across her nape. While he didn’t look familiar, his carriage and enormous build reminded her of someone. And his mouth with the sneer at one end triggered a flashed memory.
No.
 It couldn’t be.
This was not the man who’d won her at the auction.
The man took one look at her, his jaw dropped, and he blurted, “Oh crap.”
That voice.
The three-pronged fork tattoo on his bicep.
It couldn’t be.
An invisible force vaporized all the breathable air.
The room did a carousel-run-amuck series of endless spins.
Her vision blurred, bitterness coated her tongue, and the double espresso she’d drunk earlier puddled at the back of her throat.
It hadn’t been Devil in Bacchanal’s private room.
For there in the doorway loomed the man who’d won her in the auction.
She cupped a hand over her mouth, lurched to her feet, and raced for the bathroom.
The man jumped out of her way and blurted, “It was Devil not me. He took my place. He rigged the whole auction.”
After she’d emptied her stomach and washed up, the words boomeranged in her head. She leaned on the bathroom counter when her knees went weak. Relief had her sagging and that wouldn’t do. Checking her reflection, she tidied her hair, pinched her cheeks, squared her shoulders, took a deep breath, and opened the door.
Walking the plank couldn’t have been worse than the long walk down the narrow hallway. The deafening thumping of her heart hammered away rational thought. Calling on the years spent hiding any show of emotion from the great-aunts who’d raised her; Jess schooled her features into a calm, placid mask.
She glanced neither right nor left, entered The Hades Squad conference room, focused on the far wall, and strolled around the oval table. Taking her seat with all the dignity she could muster, Jess inhaled before looking directly at Satan. “I apologize for keeping you waiting. A momentary stomach upset.”
“Pack up Jessica.” Devil’s tone didn’t brook any argument.
Her peripheral glance caught him addressing Lucifer and Satan and the man who’d won her in the auction. “Meeting’s adjourned.”
Jess gripped the chair’s arms, her nails digging grooves in the upholstery.
Shallow breaths. Don’t look at Devil. Don’t remember the feel of his tongue, the pull of his mouth.
Think of Aung.
Aung.
Missing at least twenty-five days.
It took less than a minute, but the seconds ticked by on a Galapagos evolution scale. All her senses heightened. Brakes squealed on an adjacent road. Devil’s musk and patchouli aftershave crowded her nose. Her reflection in the burnished surface of the mahogany mirrored her feelings, jagged, distorted, blended.
Hire someone else.
She latched onto the idea and said, avoiding everyone’s eyes, “Actually, now that I think of it, perhaps it would be better if I took my business elsewhere.”

Destiny Driven hasn’t used her real name in forever. A stripper appellation doesn’t inspire confidence, especially when your job is managing a herd of aging romance authors who can’tget with the program.

Ordered to “sex up” former bestselling author Nadine Roland’s latest manuscript, armed with whips, cuffs, and copies of “classic” (who knew?) porn movies, Destiny travels to Healey, Alaska, and a remote mountain cabin.

Deployed to fight an- out- of- control brush fire, Master Parachutist Lincoln Chapman is the last to exit the plane, he veers off course, his chute fails, and his reserve opens at the 10,000 mark.
Deployed to fight an inferno, Master Parachutist Lincoln Chapman’s veers off course, his chute fails, and his reserve opens at the 10,000 mark. The paratrooper lands in the pear tree adjacent to Destiny’s cabin.

The man’s massive and unconscious. The cabin’s cold and isolated, and Destiny’s no girl scout. Then Linc wakes to Destiny’s Madonna features, stripper body, sex toys, and 70’s porn DVDs. Just as they're trying to leave, electricity fizzles. There's only one way to stay warm. Luckily they have all the supplies they need.
