I am a gay man living in Missouri...I can hear the gasps already!! How very un-chic of me, yes I know. It was here I was born and here I have stayed. I'm currently single but always looking for that special someone that makes my heart skip a beat...in addition to being able to put up with my neurotic ass. The worst thing about being a romance writer is finding a real life hottie that can live up to the fantasy I create in my head and subsequently thrust upon him before actually getting to know the real him. I can hear you getting all judgie...it's an occupational hazard!! To all my past and future boyfriends, my sincerest apologies...I can't help myself!  I was the youngest of four children and the only boy, so needless to say, I was spoiled rotten. I've always had an extravagant fantasy life. When I played with my Star Wars action figures as a child, I liked to make up my own stories. Naturally, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo were totally meant for each other, and Princess Leia made a bitchin' wise cracking Fag Hag.  I somehow managed to survive high school living in a small racist town in Southeast Missouri and emerged unscathed, realizing life was too short to pretend to be anything other than who I was. I was the little homo that could...so damn it, I did! It was all very Lifetime Movie Network meets After School Special I assure you.  After a few stints in college, I eventually signed up for a Creative Writing course. I took the class because there were no tests. For once my scholastic laziness paid off, and I found an outlet for all the fantasies running amuck in my head. It was love at first write, and I've been doing it off and on ever since.  Now I've decided it's time to un-barricade the doors and unleash my imagination onto the world. So very sorry world!! With the help of the lovely and talented team at Loose Id and MLR Press, my fantasy life is now available for public consumption. I'm desperately hoping you're really, really hungry.

My Personal Review for As You Are by Ethan Day

I love Ethan Day and his book. There I said it and there is no twelve step program to get involved in either to cure me of this addiction. Not because I find this author’s books charming, out loud funny and romantic in the least but because I don’t consider myself as having a problem at all.*grins* 


AS YOU ARE has two people finding out they are just right for one another but first they need to confront themselves and their perceptions of what love really is. Is it just like those old Hollywood glamor movies where the hero sweeps the heroine (or hero in this case) off their feet or is it more complex than that?


Julian Hallowell is a man who knows that "THE ONE" will swoop down and give him the full "I Love you, Man" speech and sweep him off his feet. Well he hopes anyways. Julian has been in love with his roommate, Danny, for over a year and though the path to true love is never smooth says it all. Through the course of the story, we find Julian finally seeing that hey Danny isn't really into you at all and finds himself dating Andy, a nice young man who turns Julian on like no tomorrow and tries to forget his feelings for Danny. I just love the fact Julian was as complicated and had insecurities like everyone else. He wasn't perfect which had me liking him even more.Perfect characters annoy me and Julian was far from perfect. He had the perfect love in his head and nothing and no one was going to deny him that-even as the reader & Julian found out, love is messy and doesn't always go according to plan.  


AS YOU ARE is one of those stories where you, the reader, find you want these people to be your friend in real life. The characters are multi-dimensional, delightful and absolutely enjoyable-warts and all. The writing is tight and story moves along at a nice pace. The author knows his characters and keeps the reader glued till the very end when the reader will find out if Julian gets his happily ever after with Andy or not.

Mr. Day delivers funny, romantic, real story that will leave you giggling at times and sighing at other times. A talented author, Ethan Day delivers another winner in AS YOU ARE and I, for one, can not wait to see what else this author has in store for his readers in the future. I am sure it will include snarky and wonderful heroes who find that love is not that smooth path they thought all along.Want to read a story that leaves a smile on your face? Grab AS YOU ARE and settle in for an afternoon of reading pleasure. I would hope Ethan comes back to Julian in the future. I would love to see what he has been up to along with all his family and friends.

Book Review: Life in Fusion by Ethan Day

Life in Fusion continues the romance between Boone Daniels and Wade Walker. We met these two wonderful characters in the short novella, Sno Ho and I have to admit, Ethan Day created something so magical int hat story, I was sad to see the story end.....that is until I heard he had a follow up story coming. *cheers* Now I don't know about you but when a book has me laughing hysterically at times and smiling all the way to the end, I know I struck pure gold.

I love the fact that Boone is a man who knows what he wants and enjoys life tot he fullest. He was a character I could actually see  being friends with..even if I wonder how in the world he can sit in those tight jeans of his. *grins* I could go on all day about Boone, his wonderful personality or the fact that the sparks between Wade and him are so explosive, I kept checking the monitor for sparks...or flames.

Now onto my review.....

          For Boone Daniels, his vacation turned out great when he met Wade Walker while at the winter lodge in Colorado. Saying good bye to this wonderful man was never as hard as when he left to go back to New Mexico. Now Boone has to figure out how to live in Summit City and to see if the relationship that started between him and Wade finally has a happily ever after.

          First thing I have to mention is that I adored Sno Ho, the short novella that introduces Boone and Wade to the readers and was thrilled to see a longer book with them from one of my favorite M/M authors, Ethan Day. What you have here is pure perfection in every way. LIFE IN FUSION is funny, tender, smoking hot and all around a perfect read on a snowy afternoon. Great cast of characters, fast paced storyline and tight writing just made the book even better. With each page I was drawn into the continued romance between Boone and Wade, laughing hysterically at times at what came out of Boone’s mouth and finding some of the most wonderful secondary characters out there within the pages.

          Boone is back and man, I never knew how much I missed him. His over the top antics, the way he loved Wade with a fierce abandon and his zest for life had me smiling from the first page to the last. Wade is still hot as sin and man these two characters really had a hot time together, so much so I had to go outside to cool off. The relationship evolved between Wade and Boone and we got to see how each dealt with jealousy, misunderstandings and the conviction that they are meant to be together. It was tender at times then it would flip the script and turn so scorching hot I was amazed my computer screen didn’t catch on fire. What really appealed to me were some returning and new secondary characters that gave this story such depth. We meet Boone’s parents, his friends in New Mexico and returned to visit with some of the Summit City townsfolk as well. Mr. Day does an exceptional job in creating a cast of characters that appeal to the reader on all levels. The characters grow as the story does and we see how vulnerable Wade and Boone really are as they deal with their nasty exes, well meaning family members/friends and themselves.

          LIFE IN FUSION is a story full of laughs, romance, slimy exes, well meaning friends and complex emotions. It will have you laughing one minute and sighing the next. This is a fun, heart-warming tale that leaves you in the end wanting more of Boone and Wade. I just hope Mr. Day doesn’t keep us waiting long for another installment of this wonderful couple. If you are looking for a well written tale about love & laughter, then grab LIFE IN FUSION. It will brighten your day and leave you smiling in the end.
