BLOOD OF FIRE
by January Bain
GENRE: Supernatural Romance
Series: Sin City Kilts
Can
a carefree wolf shifter and an unbelieving human find true love?
Logan
Greig, billionaire wolf and kilt-wearing Scot, arrives in Vegas to make a heist
movie set in a casino. He’s the bad boy of his clan, the one voted least likely
to settle down. What does he care? He loves women and won’t apologize to anyone
for that.
Justine
Bell, a dedicated history professor at the University of Vegas and a skeptic to
the bone, is hired by Logan Grieg to dress the set with Egyptian antiquities.
She dislikes Logan the infamous playboy on principle alone, but with the dean
insisting she takes the job, she has no choice.
When
one of the ancient relics in the shipment turns out to be a legendary
invaluable artifact, Justine throws herself into research to discover more
about it. Both she and Logan are amazed to discover that the item is of vital
importance to the whole of mankind—it reveals that supernatural creatures have
always walked the Earth!
Now,
with the clock ticking, the pair must work together as a team. Justine has to
find the strength to abandon the safety of the beliefs she clings to, ones that
don’t allow her to embrace true love, and Logan must fight to become the man
Justine needs him to be.
If
they can do that, a whole new world awaits them…

“I’ll
be back,” I promised and took off at a half-run for the ladies’ room. I’d used
the one in the hallway earlier instead of the one inside the venue to escape
the taxing situation for a few extra minutes, but now I was regretting it. At
least in the one in Dreamland I stood a better chance of someone handing it in
to lost and found or remembering that they’d seen me wearing them at the
ceremony.
I
raced through the open doorway, holding my skirts up to avoid tripping and
rounded the corner. Just a few more feet—
“Where’s
the fire?” a deep voice asked to my right.
Without
looking back, I yelled over my shoulder as I pushed open the bathroom door with
both hands, not wanting anyone to think there was an actual fire. “Nothing’s
burning. I just lost something.”
I
searched frantically—on the floor, in the sinks then in the stalls. Nothing. I
tore open the garbage disposal and began throwing out the damp paper
willy-nilly. Again, nothing. I tied up my mess, washed my hands and stood
there, thinking. Maybe it had fallen off in the church? I needed to make a call
and find out, but I had no damn phone, thanks to Jane.
I
took a moment to compose myself, not liking the hot mess I had become in the
past few minutes. I dampened a paper towel with cold water and pressed it to
the back of my neck. It helped, just like when I got a migraine. I felt better
when I exited the room a few minutes later.
“Ah,
the lady who lost something.”
I
stopped, recognizing the deep voice, annoyed that he was still hanging around.
Then I had a better thought—maybe I could borrow his phone? I made a sharp
turn—
Oh.
That man, the one from the hallway earlier in the evening. My pulse spiked. He
stood before me in all his glory. My mind went blank as I drank in his assets.
He had all the bases covered. Handsome. Impeccably dressed. An amazing
physique. Thick light-brown hair tied back and shining with golden streaks that
gleamed in the soft light. But the best part was his emerald-green eyes
surrounded by thick dark eyelashes.
Wait!
Emerald—I was looking for my earring, not a man.

Happy Friday! If given the chance, would you like to see Blood of Fire made into a movie and If so, who is in your dream cast?
This sounds like an interesting book to read.
