Character Spotlight/Interview with Author Kalissa Wayne

Please give a warm welcome to Prince Anaxandros Minos from The Dragon’s Soul : Xan by Kalissa Wayne today as we sit down and see what makes him tick.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not saving your mate? First, thank you for having me and please, my friends call me Xan. Actually, point of fact, my mate saved me. My favorite thing to do is fly.

What is it about Remi that makes you crazy in a good way? Her strong will and stubbornness. She doesn’t act like I always believed my True One would, but I find I like it.

Do you sometimes want to strangle your writer? Thrash her to within an inch of her life? Make her do the stupid crap she makes you do? No, because she helps me keep my Remi safe.

Favorite food? Roasted cow is always nice, preferably with some of my brother’s good ale!

Tell me a little bit about your world. What are your greatest challenges in that world? I am the Heir Apparent to the throne, among other titles, so I have to take my responsibilities seriously. I need to ensure the safety of the kingdom as well as my family. *sigh* But there are some days… (some days?) Some days I just want to take my Remi and fly over the kingdom and enjoy the freedom.

Describe yourself in four words. Remi’s mate, responsible, leader

What do you do for a living? What do I do? I’m a Prince of the House of Minos. I have spent years learning how to run the kingdom, how to ensure its safety and continued existence, about justice, fairness and equality. It would be easier to tell you what I don’t do!

What do you fear the most? Losing my Remi, for she is my anchor. Without her, I fear for our world….

Paranormal Dragon Shifter and BBW

Remunada Summers is a simple healer in a small backwater town leading a quiet life. Until the day the King's guard drag her from her home and across the continent by "request" of the King to help Prince Anaxandros Minos. Upon arriving at the castle, she faces not only a dragon, but the shocking secrets the Royal Houses have kept hidden for centuries. What can a simple healer do to help the mighty Royal House of Minos? More than you'd expect, since the royals aren't the only ones with secrets... Prince Anaxandros "Xan" Minos is in need of help, but only his True One can help him. After his dragon rejects several royal women presented to him as possible mates, he fears for the safety of the entire kingdom if he cannot find his True One in time. Then she arrives, a Healer, outspoken in defense of others, her scent driving his dragon to distraction while her overly large curves tempt the man beyond reason. Forced to deal not only with his problems--trying to convince Remi she is his True One and that they need to mate as quickly as possible--Xan must also address the enemies of the crown who move against his family. He may be First Born and Heir, but how much can a poor princely dragon juggle?

Excerpt:

She strode out of the water, holding her wet clothing in front of her. As she struggled to twist as much water from her shirt and pants as she could, he watched her wet body as it glistened. Her arms were tanned as well as her face and part of her neck and chest. The rest of her body, the parts that were kept covered, were a lighter shade like the sand in the Great Desert of Ah’Kan. With his dragon eyesight, he could watch the water slip down her body, and he fought the urge to go dry her with his tongue.
He couldn’t tell her height at this angle, but her larger body almost doubled the size of the others they had tossed in with him. Though she was bigger than those he had usually sought as a man, a part of him wanted to roar out in lust as he watched the way her breasts swayed with her arm movements. Even from this height, he could tell they would fill his huge hands, their tips distended now from the coldness of the lake. Water collected on her nipples and paused before continuing their journey. Her wet hair hung to the small of her back, the color some dark shade that matched the curls guarding her womanhood. He’d find out the color once her hair dried. He watched more water run down over her stomach and into that nest of curls. His human side wanted to explore the path they had taken, drink of her juices mingled with the water. He wanted to feel her heavy thighs clinging to his hips as he sank deep and rode her hard.
Just then, a gust of wind from the smaller cracks above stirred the air throughout the cave, causing her scent to rise on the currents to his hiding spot. Deep inside himself, he felt something quietly click together. The two conflicting sides of his personality connected in an instant. The struggle for supremacy was over. As the male and the dragon experienced for the first time a feeling of unity, sudden urgent emotions crashed over them. Raw, primitive emotions consumed him—possessiveness, protectiveness, want, need, and a feeling of rightness blanketed his soul. He roared out as lust became the prominent emotion, heedless of the fact she could hear him.
Let her know we are coming for her. Our True One.”
