Now let's see what Mia had to say to my questions *rubs hands gleefully*....
Can you please tell us about your
latest/upcoming book(s)?
Leave
Your Hat On is a short story released alone as an ebook and together with other
tales inspired by the classics Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and
Through the Looking Glass to celebrate the Breathless Press Anniversary. In my
story, a shy, bookish Ailis is forced to attend her sister's Alice in Wonderland themed
bachelorette party at a local strip club. This is hell on earth for Ailis, who
would rather be home. Seeking escape from half naked dancing men, she finds a
secluded room and runs into a very sexy and persuasive Mad Hatter. And there
the adventure and madness begin.
How did you come with the idea for
this story?
When we got the call for submissions from Breathless Press for stories inspired by Alice in Wonderland, my editor told me she expected me to submit a story. I thought she was kidding until a group a fellow Breathless Press authors and I got on a Skype call to brainstorm ideas. I had my radio playing in the background and Joe Cocker's 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' started to play. I immediately, whenever I hear that song, think of the final scene from the movie 'The Full Monty'. Then The Hatter started whispering rather seductively in my ear about male strippers dressed as Wonderland characters and Leave Your Hat On was born.
Who is your ultimate "book
boy/girlfriend"? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
I have to
pick just one? I can't pick just one. I love Alex from Kirsten S. Blacketer's A
Shadow's Kiss because that strong, protective quiet type presses all my buttons
in the most wonderful way. But then there's Joren from Decadant Kane's Steele
Your Soul. He's a Pirate Captain. Pirate Captain. Enough said? He's arrogant as
hell and so damn sexy to boot! Then there's Pan in Rebekah Lewis' Satyr
stories. He's the god of fun but he didn't have much fun until he met the
heroine. How romantic is that?
Who is your Celebrity crush? And
what would you do if you ever meet them?
Benedict
Cumberbatch. Yum. I love the depth he gives to the characters he plays. As
Khan, in Star trek Into Darkness, I felt so sorry for him, even if he did
unspeakable things, because the depths he gave Khan made it impossible not to
see his side of the story and point of view. As Sherlock he proves 'Brainy is
the new sexy'. Plus the way he treats his real life mom with such gentle
affection and respect just melts my heart. Gram always said you could tell a
man's true character in the way he treats his mom. And his eyes. Oh. My. Gawd.
Couldn't you just drown in those eyes?
If I ever
met him, after they revived me from my faint then pried my arms from around
him, I'd like to talk about the books he reads and how he feels about the roles
he's played. We'd talk for hours.
If you could collaborate with
another author on a secret project, who would you pick to work with and why?
This is tough because there's
several. Monica Corwin is tops, because I love her awesome voice, sense of
humor, and writing style. Her characters just come so alive on the page and
make a reader feel right there in the middle of the story.

Ailis must
attend her sister's Wonderland strip club party, where the last place she
wanted to go becomes the only place she wants to be.
It's
Alice
in Wonderland themed night at the local strip club where the Matron of Honor
decided to have Ailis' sister's bachelorette party. So not only are Ailis and
the rest of the ladies dressed up as Wonderland characters, but the strippers
costumes leave nothing to the imagination. Could anything be worse for shy,
bookish Ailis?
Trying
to leave the wild "fun" behind, Ailis stumbles into a secluded room
and meets a sexy stranger in a familiar tagged hat. It's not long before their
flirty banter becomes downright suggestive and the party heats up. But when Mr.
Hatter is called away and Ailis flees the club, is this the end of their story?
Or will there be another surprise for Ailis down the rabbit hole?
Teaser:
"What's your hurry?"
He moved forward to stop within an arm's reach of her. Ailis tilted her head
and felt her eyes grow wide. He wore a tuxedo, all black from head to toe. His
curly dark hair peaked from under a tall top hat with the familiar tag 10/6. His
eyes caused her breath to hitch: light blue, thickly lashed, and staring at her
with a combination of lust and humor. "We've not even been
introduced."
Ailis swallowed and shook her head. "I
don't belong here. And you're about to go on stage from what I hear."
He chuckled again, the sound rich and deep.
"Shall I play Mad Hatter for you, little Alice?"
If he continued to use the made-for-sin tone, he
could play anything he wanted with her, Ailis thought then immediately cringed.
She'd definitely had too much to drink if she fancied... something with this
stranger. "I should really just leave."
He took her hand and raised it to his lips. The
brush of his warm mouth and soft breath made her heart race. "Ah, love,
you now have me booked for the evening."
