Sunday Series Spotlight~ Mychael Black's Secrets of Socendor

I have to admit, this is by far one amazing fantasy m/m series I have ever read. I love the characters, the story and this author does a marvelous job in capturing the reader's attention right from the first page....Check out the Secrets of Socendor.

Book One: The Lost Son
Fantasy M/M
Samhain Publishing
Available at Publisher

One warrior, one sorcerer, and a legacy that will change their lives forever…

In the world of Socendor, humans are forbidden from using magic and elves keep their distance.

Kalen Ysindroc has risen far from his humble beginnings as a blacksmith’s adopted son. Now the king’s general, he investigates reports of magic-wielding half-human, half-elven lithings sighted along the kingdom’s borders. It would be a lonely life, if not for the company of his best friend and long-time elven lover, Micheil Theirauf, the king’s sorcerer.

An attempt on Kalen’s life makes it clear to Micheil that there’s more afoot than random breaks in the land’s defenses. His lover is plagued by dreams no human should endure, and Micheil’s probe into Kalen’s subconscious reveals a past neither of them expected. And a future Kalen can’t escape.

Suddenly, everything Kalen never knew about his life is laid bare. A father possessed of terrible magical power. A half-brother who could be the family Kalen never had—or the catalyst that will rip Micheil out of his life forever…

This title was previously published but has been revised.

Book Two: Dragonblade
Samhain Publishing
Fantasy M/M
Available at Publisher

Winning this battle requires a faith stronger than steel…

Legends tell of a dragon-forged weapon so powerful, it possesses the ability to traverse time itself. Knowing the havoc it could wreak, the dragons sealed it deep beneath the mountains.

No one was meant to find it, let alone wield it.

General Kalen Ysindroc, leader of the human king’s armies and the long-lost son of Socendor’s most feared wizard-king of old, is in a race against time. His half brother, Braen, is searching for the sword as a means to return their father from the grave. Kalen must not let that happen. Joined by his elven lover, wizard Micheil Thierauf, he sets out on a journey beneath the mountains to stop Braen from doing the unthinkable.

As secrets come to light that test Kalen’s faith in every way possible, including his trust in the man he’s loved nearly all his life, the right path is as clouded as the murky, dragon-blood-tainted waters of the Ebon Sea. And Kalen is forced to make a decision that could very well be his last.

Book Three: Retribution
Samhain Publishing
Fantasy M/M
Available at Publisher

From the ashes of war emerges a fiery love.

Already despised as a half-elf, half-human lithing, exiled king Braen must face the destruction he has wrought. By resurrecting his father, he has unleashed a terrible evil upon the land. His only hope to save his people is to join forces with elves and humans, his traditional enemies. Which makes his undeniable desire for the human captain Jéan Bastien intolerable.

With the land of Socendor’s fate hanging in the balance, dealing with his lust for Braen is the last thing Jéan needs. Not only because Braen’s a lithing, but because Jéan has never before desired a man. Yet their magnetic attraction draws them together even as war drives them apart.

Time has run out for the people of Socendor. Led by General Kalen Ysindroc, Braen’s half brother, and his elven lover, wizard Micheil Thierauf, the united band of elves, lithings, and men march on Sunderlind, though their numbers are too few. As dragons darken the skies and arrows fly, love and loyalty must win the day…or darkness will reign forever.

About the Author

Call me Katherine or Mychael–I’ll answer to both. I’m a mother, student, author by trade, and editor by compulsion. I’ve been in the publishing business for several years, namely as a writer but also as an editor on occasion. It never fails, though. I always end up editing eventually.

I’m a proud bibliophile, to which my poor sagging bookcases can attest. I read all the time, namely fantasy and romance.

When not writing or reading or editing, I…eat. Maybe sleep. Or watch Spongebob. Yes. I am a self-proclaimed, thirty-something year old Spongebob Squarepants addict. Much to my roommate’s dismay. It’s fun.
