Talking with A.M. Griffin and a Giveaway

Welcome to my Reading Nook, A.M. Griffin. Please make yourself at home and let my cabana boys get you a drink.

Comfortable? Wonderful. Now let’s get started.

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
Dangerously Hers is the third release in the science-fiction, romance, erotic, Loving Dangerously series. We first met Jess (the heroine of this story) in Dangerously Yours (the second story). She was a handful in that story and we now find out what makes her tick and more about her life. Jess is a woman who is still trying to find her footing after being abducted from Earth and sold to an alien brothel. She deserves her happy ending and I provided her with one in the form of a sinfully hot alien who adores everything about her.
I have two more books on the way for the Loving Dangerously series, Dangerously His and Dangerously Forever. I have more stories in my head for that series so hopefully the books won't stop there. I’m also working on a superhuman book that will be included in a multi-author series. I have played with two other books that I would like to finish in 2014. I’m hoping 2014 will be the year of a new series as well as the growth of Loving Dangerously.

How would you describe yourself using only five words?
Driven, loyal, family oriented, loving and honest.

If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?
Warning: woman has a hard time holding her tongue. In the event she says something to offend walk away and don’t look back.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Chocolate, four star hotel rooms, room service, mindless television and traveling.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
That my life isn’t as glamorous as they would imagine an erotic authors life to be. It’s pretty mundane and filled with working, writing, taking care of a husband, children and pets.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right about now, somewhere warm and tropical. I hate winter and I hate snow.

How do you get yourself in the mood to write?
It doesn’t take much to get me into the mood (lol). I just fire-up the lap-top and start. I don’t have anything special that I do or rituals to abide by. If I have the time I do it. If not, well, I’m thinking about doing it.

Can you share with us your typical writing day.  Is there anything you have to have while writing?
It’s pretty hectic. I work a full-time day job and then come home to write. I can write for hours, sometimes into the wee hours of the night, only to get up and start the process all over again. I like to think that I’m productive when I write, sitting down and finishing chapters after chapters, but many times I don’t. I’m easily distracted by the wonders of television and the perils of Facebook.

Who are some of your favorite authors?
Dean Koontz and Joey W. Hill are topping my list right now. I have a ton of favorites though.

What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?
My TBR list has just grown from 100+ books to 200+books in the past month. I have so many books that I want to read and/or finish. I’m still on page 2 of the last book in the Hunger Games and I got that book when it first came out for God’s sake. *mutters* there is not enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do.

Is there something special you do to celebrate when one of your books is released?
Nothing special. I’m usually so worked up and pumped full of nervous energy that I’m freaking out about the new release. I always plan to share the event with my family, maybe a party or nice dinner. But by the time comes around I can't find my way up from down.

Do you have a favorite TV show you can't miss?
Right now it American Horror Story and Sleepy Hollow. I do miss them every now and then because my muse refuses to be ignored, but I watch what I miss usually the next day. I love paranormal stories like these.

If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why-no it doesn't have to be from your books?
I love all of the heroes from my stories. But if I had to pick one, I think I would date Taio. He’s the hero of my first book in the Loving Dangerously series, Dangerously Mine. I love a man with power and strength. Also, being hot as heck and a sinful body doesn’t hurt.

What is the strangest source of writing inspiration you’ve ever had?
I write science-fiction. Nothing is really strange to me. LOL

If your muse were to talk behind your back, what secrets would he/she tell?
She would complain that I don’t write fast enough and I often don’t listen to what she is trying to tell me. I imagine her being very snarky to say the least. I think of her as my frenemy.

Dangerously Hers by A.M. Griffin
Ellora's Cave
Available at Publisher / Amazon

Loving Dangerously, Book Three Jess hates aliens. After the invasion that destroyed Earth, the extraterrestrial bastards sold her to a brothel as a sex slave. She may have escaped but the old memories and fears still linger in the dark corners of her mind. Supposedly Sonis is just the place for her—somewhere safe, where she can heal and start fresh. She’s almost hopeful…until she meets Rasha, her new boss.

Rasha, Captain of the Sonis Royal Guard, is a warrior through and through. He’s huge, sinfully sexy and could have any woman on Sonis—but the woman he wants is Jess. He’s very much an alien and Jess knows she should hate him or at least be wary, but whenever he’s around, she loses control. She tells herself it’s only sex—amazing, mind-blowing sex like nothing else she’s ever experienced—but there’s something about Rasha that shakes her soul. The feel of his skin against hers, the look in his eyes as he touches her—they make her want to believe it’s possible to find love and begin again.

A Romantica® science fiction erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

She positioned her left leg behind her and balled her fists. From her experience aliens had a hard time with the word “no”.

He rubbed his hand across his face, as if he was trying to regain his composure. She readied for a fight.

He rocked back onto his heels and stood. “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. As you can see I lost control.” He grabbed his crotch. His hand held the thickened outline of his cock.

“Is that all you?” She should have been ashamed for asking, but damn.

He nodded.

“It’s so freakin’…” So many words could be used to describe it, gigantic, humongous, enormous. “Big.”

He leisurely rubbed his cock. “Is it acceptable to you?”

Acceptable, said the lion to the rabbit. But she couldn’t keep her eyes off of it. It was mesmerizing.

“Do you want me to fuck you instead? We can do it here.” He motioned toward the desk. “I could clear the desk.”

She forced herself to turn away. “Does it look like I wanna fuck you or anyone else for that matter?”

He gave her an appeasing stare. “Always ready to fight. Even though the situation does not call for it. Stand down, Jess. I’m not into rough sex.”

She hesitated. When he made no moves toward her she straightened. “I told you before.”

He waved a dismissive hand. “What comes out of your mouth contradicts what drips out of your pussy.”

Heat crept across her cheeks. Betrayed. By her pussy.
