*waves madly* I’d like to start off by thanking Dawn for
hosting me today and for Tina at Topaz for organizing everything :D
So, yes. Introductions. I have two for you today. To start
with, I’d better introduce myself. I’m Mina Carter and I write romance in the
paranormal, sci-fi, and occasionally contemporary sub-genres. I’ll warn you,
I’m a random little bunny with more than a few kicks in my gallop ;)
The second introduction I’d like to make is for the hero of
the latest story in the Imperial Princes series. Now, a romance always has to
have a good hero and Colonel Jareth Nikolai is certainly that. A living legend
on the battlefield, his reputation precedes him, and he’s best friends with the
Imperial Prince, so everyone at court knows to steer clear (also because he has
zero patience with nobles who do nothing all day and his opinion on simpering
and the latest fashions isn’t printable). His days are spent either training,
or waging a one man war against the pirates that plague the space-lanes. He has
no use for the usual drinking and carousing the rest of his men get up to when
in home base.
Even though he has the coin for courtesans, he doesn’t have
the time nor inclination to indulge in the brothels down-town anymore. Instead,
he has his sights set a little bit higher. On one of the women of the Imperial
prince’s harem. To touch one is death. To kiss one…there aren’t words for the
punishment a man would suffer.
None of that makes any difference to the ruthlessly
efficient colonel. He’s watched one of the women, the harem-mistress herself no
less, from afar for years. So when the harem is closed, and he’s offered a boon
for his exemplary service, he really only has one answer…
Writing Jareth was a lot of fun. He’s the sort of hard-line,
very alpha male character I love to write. The sort that could so easily slide
into bad boy territory but somehow manages not to. His pursuit of Keliana is
single-minded in its intensity, almost brutal in his focus on winning her heart
despite her arguments, and for me, heart-wrenching when he almost loses her.
Yeah, I do love to torture my characters, but you’ll have to read Harem
Mistress to find out just how much ;)
Illicit love, burning hot sex...
Keliana is an imperial harem mistress, but that doesn't
stop Jareth Nikolai from wanting her. A colonel in the imperial fleet and the
prince's right hand man, Jareth has earned his reputation as a loyal,
stone-cold soldier, but thoughts of Keliana heat his blood to boiling--even
though she's the property of his prince.
Keliana knows it's forbidden, but she can't get the
handsome colonel of out of her mind, nor can she ignore her dreams of one day
loving him openly as a free woman. When she's called before her prince and
given to Nikolai as a gift, she thinks her dreams have finally come true. Until
Nikolai is raised to prince and cannot marry his harem mistress.
And deep within the shadows, enemy machinations work to
keep them apart forever...

Harem Mistress sounds great, Mina - and thank you for the wonderful cover art for my books, Cold Revenge and The Devil Inside Her. Lots of people have commented on how eyecatching they are and how they have drawn them into the book. Job done!
