Even a wolf shifter can’t defeat fate.
Vladimir Corelia is the second son of the pack alpha. He’s
happy with his role in the pack, but it seems the fates have other ideas. When
the man he finds living in a cave, caring for a shifter baby and a litter of
wolf pups, turns out to be his mate, it begins a chain of events that puts the
whole pack in jeopardy.
Frankie Bowers can’t remember anything except a powerful
sense of danger. He only knows he can’t go home. With no way to defend himself,
he has to rely on Vladimir, a perfect stranger who happens to be his mate, to
protect him and the young he’s looking after.
While Vladimir and Frankie’s attraction as mates grows
stronger every day, so does the threat to their relationship—and to the pack.
As Frankie regains his memory, the threat grows more and more ominous. Vladimir
and Frankie must rise to the challenge if they hope to have any chance at the
future the fates might have in store.

Excerpt 1
“That way. It’s part of what I smelled earlier.” Ruck headed off a short
ways, and Vladimir looked for something to bind the wolf’s wounds. He found
nothing. “Vladimir,” Ruck whispered. “Get over here.”
Vlad carefully lifted the wolf into his arms, following the sound of
Ruck’s voice. “What is it?”
“A cave of some sort. And it’s a big one. Do you think he’d been living
in there? It smells wolfy. I’ll stay here with him. You go check it out.” Ruck
took the wolf and cradled him in his arms.
Vladimir approached the cave entrance, scented for danger, then went
inside.
Overlapping scents filled his nose: wolf, human, animal, bodily fluids,
food—it was nearly overwhelming. Fortunately Vladimir could see well in the
dark, since he only had the light of the cave mouth to see by. He took a few
more steps and came to a larger room with a few blankets, boxes, and… stuff.
Four wolf cubs approached him cautiously. They had to be only about three
or four weeks old. They were full-blooded wolves, and after some smelling and
posturing, they came forward. Vladimir petted each of them, transferring his
scent, letting them know that he wasn’t going to hurt them. Once they knew they
were safe, the three boys and the girl pup began to roughhouse and play, trying
to pull him into their game. And they might have succeeded if not for a wail
from the other side of the room.
A baby. Vladimir hurried over, with the pups right behind him, and lifted
up the little one. The child was clearly a shifter like him, a few months old,
but fat and healthy judging by the force of his scream. The kid was probably
hungry, and sure enough, Vladimir found a box with bottles and formula, as well
as a jug of water that he began heating on a tiny stove. They made the formula
and set it in some cold water to cool.
He’d seen the parents of the pack make up bottles, so he did his best and
popped the nipple into the little guy’s mouth. He instantly quieted, sucking
the nourishment like it was going out of style.
“What’s happening?” Ruck asked from the mouth of the cave.
Vladimir wrapped the baby in a blanket and carried him out with him, the
pups following. “I think we found out why this guy was here and what he was
doing.” Though the pups and the baby raised a lot more questions.
