Evan didn’t expect Jackson to be a koala bear
when he slept, clinging on to Evan’s body like he was a eucalyptus tree. It
hadn’t started that way. They remained on opposite ends sides of Jackson’s
king-size bed, spent from the rigorous fucking. “Stay” was the last word he had
said before passing out. Evan wasn’t sure why Jackson had asked him to stay if
all he planned to do was sleep. The cocaine had dissipated from Evan’s
bloodstream but he still felt speedy, unable to relax his mind enough to drift
off. Instead he watched the way Jackson’s back rose with his slow and even
breaths, his sticky ass draped with the sheets while the upper half of his body
remained uncovered. His face was turned to the side on the pillow and his pout
was puckered from the way his cheek was being pressed. He looked peaceful and
innocent: everything he was not during waking hours. When Jackson turned onto
his back, Evan felt his body tense. He was getting closer and as much as Evan
wanted to be tender, he wasn’t convinced he knew how to be.
He figured he must’ve fallen asleep sometime
after Jackson’s first roll toward him, because when he opened his eyes next,
tattoo-sleeved arms were wrapped around his chest and muscular legs around his
knees. Though he feared that he wouldn’t know what to do in a moment that
reflected real intimacy, instinctively he did. After pushing brown hair back
from Jackson’s forehead, Evan gently rested his lips against it, awestruck by
the comfort his lover seemed to get from holding him. Jackson had said he
didn’t cuddle, but being tangled up with him was everything Evan never knew he
wanted, but suddenly really fucking needed.
The second time he woke up, the early morning
sun was streaming under the slats of the blinds and bathing the room in an
amber hue. Jackson was still holding him tight and Evan decided that now was as
good a time as any to indulge in some of the sweetness he secretly craved.
Cautiously, he closed the space between their faces and as gently as possible
he rubbed the tip of his nose against the end of Jackson’s. Evan hadn’t ever
noticed the soft brush of freckles that spread across Jackson’s nose and
couldn’t help but think that they were the cutest fucking thing Evan had seen
in a long time. When he nudged him again, Jackson sniffed, dug his face into
the pillow, and held him tighter.
Venturing to make his next move, Evan gently
raked his fingers through Jackson’s hair, startled when his head shot up and
his blue eyes opened wide.
