Book Review- Maudlin's Mayhem by Yasmine Galenorn

Another lighthearted romp in Bedlam to enjoy from Yasmine Galenorn and one I couldn't put down.

My Rating for Maudlin's Mayhem: 4 Stars

Poor Maudlin…after getting her Bed and Breakfast up and running, she finds herself in the middle of chaos. At first, she finds the chaos swirling around her an annoyance but soon it gets quite deadly especially when she is on the black list of a certain vampire queen, Essie Vanderbilt. Now if Maudlin doesn’t find a way to dispel the hex that is on her, she is afraid things will turn even worse for her and those around her.

Yasmine Galenorn’s second installment in her wonderfully funny Bewitching Bedlam series is back in MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM and this time Maddie is facing even more danger than she expected. I love this series so much. It’s fun and quite entertaining. The characters keep the story rolling along rather nicely and I enjoyed finding more about Maddie and the gang. The world building is spectacular and this is an author who is a pro at creating such captivating worlds for readers to get lost within. With a few of my recent reads being so heavy lately, MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM was a breath of much needed laughter and fresh air. It’s a light fun read set in a town full of wacky, magical creatures that left me smiling through the whole book.

Meet Maddie, the owner of the new Bed and Bath Inn in Bedlam. Problems start flying all around her. From Aegis is stuck in bat form, Maddy is finding herself fending off pranks left and right but it gets downright dangerous when the pranks go after those close to her. Now Maddy is trying to figure out who is trying to ruin her and possibly kill her and keep her friends and family from getting caught in cross fire. I love, love, love Maddie. She is a pure delight to my reader senses and I enjoyed her interactions with everyone in the story. The characters are wickedly wonderful and quite a treat to read. They are larger than life and very well written. There was just one little issue I had with one of the characters, Thornton. He wasn’t as fleshed out as the rest of the characters were and detracted my enjoyment from his scenes but overall, even though he wasn’t as complex as the others, it still worked for me. I am hoping to learn more about him, Essie and many other returning characters from the past books.

MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM is a fun paranormal mystery story that will leave you smiling when the last page is read. What I thoroughly enjoyed the most was how this author’s pure enjoyment in writing this story came across in the storyline. It made me happy to see an author enjoy their work as much as Ms. Galenorn seemed to be doing with the Bewitching Bedlam series. If you enjoy lighthearted paranormal stories, then you will enjoy the Bewitching Bedlam series. I can’t wait to see where this author goes next in the series.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement
