ANGEL WINGS OF HOPE
Aether - the Ariel and Barchiel tale
Your
guardian angels are always with you, surrounding you with love and light. ~ Anonymous
Barchiel: Angel of Compassion
Ariel, Angel of
Nature, had feet of moss and, legs of flesh, wood splints and ivy, wings that
looked translucent and shimmery with blues and greens, but upon touch felt like
water. The rest of her seemed to be created from red clay, molded into an ultra
vivacious and curvy form with ivy tendrils cupping her breasts and spreading
like a fan upon her feminine mound. Her curly, green hair spouted a variety of
fall colored leaves from gold to red to orange.
Animals from the
infinitesimally small to amazingly gigantic adored Ariel. Her devotion to
animals and plants was unparallel, she protected them. Earth's elements such as
water, wind and fire also found themselves in the circumference of her care.
Simultaneously, her ire was engaged when any under her domain were harmed, and
she saw to the attacker's retribution. At times, people would seek Ariel's aid
to take care of the environment, and God's creations which included wild
animals and pets. She provided healing as was God's will. The archangel Raphael
paired with her when she used curative skills and she taught with Barchiel.
Ariel had a fraternal
twin, Barchiel. Differing from humans, twins in the angelic sphere meant they
were created at the same moment, in the same soul pool, using the same fusion
from a star’s core. Still, their form greatly differed. Barchiel looked more
human than celestial except for black leathery wings, ending in a pair of
grasping pedipalps. Barchiel also had a narrow segmented tail, ending in a
stinger. Although, he had scorpion-like appendages which most would consider
sinister, he was the Angel of Compassion and his stinger held only a serum of
empathy.
Barchiel had an
inner strength providing the highest levels of compassion. When he taught he
offered guidance to show appreciation and empathy. God's mercy on me is a reflection of my mercy on others, was his
mantra.
The two were
often found together in the Garden of Mire, contemplating on new ways to
inspire a love of nature and animals within humanity. Though Barchiel spread
his wings over a wider concept, singling out individuals whose influence would
affect others to show more kindness, not just in nature but with each other.
“Their hearts
are good,” denoted Ariel as she looked into a water puddle that provided a view
of two brothers, fishing on the Platte River in Fremont, Nebraska. Being a
school outing, others were there as well, most carousing rather than enjoying
nature’s bounty of lush flower and shady trees. Games of catch me if you can,
flirtatious handholding, and inexplicable shouting marked the anarchy.
Creatures that might have come closer to inspect scurried away at the noise.
“The river's
current is strong,” provided Brachial, aware of his sister’s intentions to
provide an opportunity to show compassion. "Rapids and eddies can flash
into turbulence."
"That
whitewater is fostered by demonic forces. They feed off victim's fears as they
weigh them down, aiding in their drowning, and then stealing their spirits
before they have a chance to rise to a celestial afterlife."
“Lives will be risked. Do you foresee that?”
"I
do." She paused, adding softly. "More than lives, souls."
"Are they
strong enough to survive?"
“Risk is the
only way to discover strength of character.” Her words faded as she watched
through the pool’s window events transpiring on Earth. A faun crept toward the
water. The river’s edge was soft, slippery.
The Platte over
most of its length was a muddy, broad, shallow, meandering stream with a swampy
bottom and many islands, a braided stream, but when fed by long periods of rain
it became cataclysmic with uncontrolled power.
Birds tweeted in
circles around her head, crickets joined in their song, bullfrogs croaked at
appropriate intervals. Elk tangled horns, adding a clicking background. All of
the Garden’s inhabitants stirred and added their chirps and snorts and hisses,
creating a blissful harmony. Totally in contrast to the present discord in
Ariel’s spirit.
“My concern is
great for their safety. I sense great sympathy and caring within the brothers.”
He paused, his disquiet obvious in the brass undertones of his deep voice. “The
undertow is treacherous, and those about lack the courage to go after them if
difficulty arises.”
“True… the other
side, our devilish enemies, have been over-active in this school. Darkness
spreading like slick oil. Hopelessness the begatment. It hasn’t touched the
brothers but many they befriend have been wooed. Those demonics have made youth with weak-knees and failed backbones. We
must…” She stopped speaking as the Earthy events began to unfold with the
possibility of a dire outcome.
