Welcome Jenn Roseton

Welcome author Jenn Roseton to the Reading Nook. Comfortable? Great let's get started....

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

Right now I'm working on a trilogy of sexy contemporary western romance novelettes set in a small town in Wyoming.  Curves and the Cowboy is scheduled to come out later this month.  I hope to have the next book in the series out in July/early August and the final book in late August/early September.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

My guilty pleasure is eating gourmet chocolate, preferably 50% cocoa content or more! I just love Hachez 88% and my new favorite is Hachez 55%.  Unfortunately, I can only buy these from a specialist chocolate shop in the city and I only make a special shopping trip to the city every few months.  I also enjoy Rausch chocolate.  Both these brands are made in Germany and I haven't been able to find anywhere else to buy them, even online!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

That is a tough question to answer.  Growing up, I lived in the suburbs and always wanted to live in the country.  Six years ago, I did move to the country and I love it here.  But I would like to live on thousands of acres (such as a ranch in Wyoming, LOL) where I could go horse-riding and skiing and sledding in winter.  I would also like to spend some time in Hawaii, somewhere peaceful and private, where it's just me, the sky and the ocean.  I think six months on a large ranch in Wyoming and six months on the beach in Hawaii every year would be close to perfect.

How do you get yourself in the mood to write?

Most of the time I don't.  I just park my butt in the chair, turn on the computer and start writing.  I usually read part of what I wrote the day before so I know where I'm up to, but that's about it.  I have good writing days and bad ones, but I try to make myself write every weekday (I usually give myself the weekends off).  If I only wrote when I really felt like it, I would probably only have four books or less out, instead of seven.

If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend that they start with and why?

I've written two series and one stand-alone so far, not counting my new western romance series.  At the moment my favorite series is my two-part Hot and Sexy series featuring Jared and Christy.  Hot and Sexy 1: Seductive Persuasion starts off when Jared turns up at the isolated cabin where Christy has fled needing some space while she mulls over his proposition that she moves in with him.  In Hot and Sexy 2: Bridal Jitters, Jared and Christy are engaged, but things aren't going smoothly leading up to the wedding so they decide to elope.  However, Jared's past comes back to haunt him before they exchange their wedding vows!

Coffee, tea or other drink to get you moving in the morning?

I definitely need a coffee in the morning! I love a good mocha with plenty of foam and I make a great one at home using my little Aerolatte stick whizzer.

What do you feel is the most important thing that a first-time author should know?

I've self-published seven novelettes.

The most important thing I've learned is to never give up on your
dream.  If you want to write, then don't let anyone convince you you can't or that self-publishing is hard, because it isn't (once you know what you're doing).  I'm not talking about promotion though, that's a whole other issue, LOL!  All you need to self-publish is to write a story that you think is good enough and that you want to share with people, maybe hire a freelance editor to go over it with you, make or hire someone to design a cover for it, format it, and upload it to Amazon or Smashwords (or both!)

Hot and Sexy 1: Seductive Persuasion by Jenn Roseton

From mild-mannered architect to hot and sexy ex-commando!

Running away to an isolated cabin for a few days, Christy is shocked when Jared turns up at her door. She wanted time alone to mull over Jared’s proposition that she move in with him. Since they haven’t been dating long, she wants to make sure she makes the right decision.

But when Jared follows her, hoping to persuade her with his own special brand of seduction, she realizes there’s more to him than meets the eye.

Can Jared use seductive persuasion to his advantage?

Except from Hot and Sexy 1: Seductive Persuasion:

“She tried to pull away from him, but his arm tightened around her.  “Where do you think you’re going?” he whispered huskily.  “I haven’t finished persuading you yet.”

“Jared--”

He kissed her hungrily.  “Don’t talk.  And don’t think.  Just feel.”

“But I need--”

“I know what you need.”  He pinned her underneath him, holding her in place with his lower body as he ripped open the buttons of his shirt and yanked it off.

Christy found herself admiring his hard, muscular chest while wondering whether she should try to stop him.  “Jared…”  She reached out.

He caught her hand in his and kissed her palm.  “Let me make love to you, Christy.”
