Welcome Elodie Parkes

Hi Dawn, thank you for inviting me to the blog today.

Here’s a little about me for your readers.

I live in rural England, United Kingdom and I work in an antiques shop as well as writing. I have two dogs that keep me fit with their need for walks. Love the countryside and the coast.
I write romance, contemporary, and erotic with a twist of mystery, suspense, or the paranormal, now and then. I like to make the story unusual in some way, by a quirk in the tale.

I started writing when I was seventeen. Life intervened in my writing time and I stopped serious writing for some time. I started writing again seriously a couple of years ago, because I had so many stories in my head.

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

I have an erotic romance releasing June 14 from Hot Ink Press. Titled The Winter Girl it’s contemporary, erotic romance with a little twist of magic. I loved writing this book. My hero Starr Forrester is to die for.

About The Winter Girl

Lily Prescott is only just over a relationship break up when she decides to take up residence in a house left to her by her recently deceased grandmother. Her corporate law job takes a back seat as she licks her wounds in the small country town. She looks around the main shopping street and discovers people who will befriend her, but she also runs into the town’s most eligible bachelor and secret bad boy, Starr Forrester.

Loved for his lifelong association with the town, Starr hides his methods for staying single well from his friends. He’s nearly thirty, gorgeous, a designer, owns a business and on the lookout for his ‘Winter Girl’….
Will it be Lily? What is a ‘Winter girl’?
Fun, sex, romance and a little twist of the paranormal, makes this a must read.

Released by Hot Ink Press June 14

Excerpt
“Lily we need to close the door. It’s freezing outside. Lily.”
She couldn’t let him go. She shuffled him away from the door and Ash followed her kissing down her neck as she pushed the door closed, somehow managing to suck his earlobe into her mouth as she did.
Ash pulled her sweater over her head and kissed along the top of her breasts. He couldn’t find a way to open her lacy bra and so he unzipped her jeans and pushed them down to mid-thigh as he kissed her so sexily Lily made little throaty sounds of enjoyment.
She had his jeans open and she plunged her hand down inside to hold his cock. Ash pushed into her hand and groaned. He thrust his hips a little. He was kneading her bottom and then pulled her underwear away to feel her skin and run his fingers along the insides of her thighs. Lily opened her mouth to his tongue as she cupped his balls in one hand and grasped his cock with the other.
Ash circled her clit with a fingertip and then pushed it into her. ‘She’s ready. She’s delicious, so hot.’ He sucked along her neck and down to a breast as he pushed two fingers in and out of her. Lily murmured her pleasure.
“Ash, I want you naked.”
He smiled a little as he kissed her mouth, the side of her mouth and then bit her shoulder softly. He looked up and into her eyes.
“I want you naked. I can’t open your bra.” He removed his fingers from her and Lily groaned. He picked her up. He walked through the nearest door, to what he hoped was a living room. The room had a sofa and he put Lily down following with his own body so that he leaned over her and sucked a nipple into his mouth through the lace of her bra. He stripped off her jeans and underwear in one. His fingers found her wet entrance again and Lily moaned into his mouth as he pushed them into her.

Tell my readers a little more about yourself Elodie, How would you describe yourself using only five words?
Complex, friendly, kind, romantic, intelligent

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
I have so many LOL
I watch movies that have sex in them, yes, look for them, re-watch the sex bits LOL
I look at men. Mostly if they are attractive, but certainly I check guys out.
Black underwear…that’s all I own, oh and boots, I wear nothing but boots.

Coffee, tea or other drink to get you moving in the morning?
I have to drink two cups of tea and then I’m raring to go.

What is coming up from you in 2013? Anything you want to tease us with?
I have another erotic romance releasing from Hot Ink Press, it’s darker than I usually write, but still has a happy ending. It’s titled The Old Star and has a twist of paranormal.

Here’s a few lines to tease you.
****
Cathy gazed at his mouth as he spoke. His husky voice gave her flutters in her lower stomach. His lips were so inviting she felt a quiet desperation to kiss him. He was so attractive to her, so desirable, a wave of sadness too her over. ‘What if he never feels the same about me?’
Owen was watching her expressions and knew she wanted him. It was plain to see and so welcome that he felt weak with relief. His own needs beat at him and made him stumble as he put down the paintbrush.
Cathy stepped to him, but he stood straight quickly, and grinned.
“Nearly had the can over then…”
His eyes darkened and he leaned to her face nearer to his now. His hands moved around her head holding her to kiss.
Cathy closed her eyes and felt his lips a fraction away from hers. The nearness was agony. She moved her mouth to touch his. Owen began to kiss her. It was soft, gentle, tender, slow, and Cathy felt melted from the inside out, a wetness starting between her legs that had her bring her arms up around his waist and press against him.
She molded to him, running her fingertips up and down his back muscles, and kissing him hungrily. Owen kissed down her neck. His breath gave her goosebumps and tingling from her nipples to her clit so that she let go of him to pull her T-shirt up and off.

There that’s a very secret advance. (Smiles)

If you had a reporter follow you around for the day, what would the readers get to see in your daily schedule?
Well they’d have a chance of seeing me travel to a few venues that have sold the place I work for antiques. They’d see me stuck in traffic jams singing to the music I play all the time very loudly. They might see me selling antiques. They would see me get home, race around doing things then about eight thirty start writing or making graphics, or blogging.

When you begin your stories, do you go with the flow, or go with an outline?
I usually know the story, but I do both. I make notes and then change them, then go with the flow and sometimes the story changes slightly.

Is it hard coming up with titles or characters names?
I find the characters will often tell me their name. I am weird about names. I have to know the name before I can write well, it’s such an important thing in the character’s personality.

If you were to replenish your cabinets with one junk food, what would it be?
I can never have it, because I can’t eat dairy, but I’d love to have ice cream, all the yummy flavors I see for sale…..sigh

Thank you for letting me run wild on the blog today Dawn.
I have a giveaway running to celebrate the release of The Winter Girl.
