Today the Supreme Court of the United States (or SCOTUS) has made two huge decisions....
The first is striking down DOMA as unconstitutional. That means the federal government of the USA can not deny same sex married couples all the rights hetero married couples enjoyed. *tosses confetti*
And second, they have declined to hear the case in regards to Prop 8 and as the case was presented to SCOTUS, they deemed it invalid. A huge decision as it means California can now have legal gay marriage as it was considered unconstitutional by the state's 9th circuit court.
What a wonderful day fro all my gay and straight friends....now I want bubbly *grins*
