Get Under the covers with Taryn Kincaid's hero, Sean Jones

Please give a warm welcome to Sean Jones from THUNDER by Taryn Kincaid today as we sit down and see what makes him tick.

Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the cross-hairs for your author?

Yeah, so. . . I set my bro, Campbell, up on a 1Night Stand in LIGHTNING. I gather the author thought I was kind of a smart-ass. Also a studly hunk, whose story needed to be told. Camp just figured turnabout was fair play, I guess. Maybe he was a little jealous my picture was in the tabloids with models and starlets all the time. Not a bad deal for a developer/contractor/construction guy. Although, Camp is back with the love of his life now, so I guess he thought he had my best interests at heart. Wants to see everyone as love-crazed. I admit. All the hard-partying was getting to me. Camp knows me. He knew. Filled out Madame Evangeline’s 1Night Stand questionnaire for me and everything. And didn’t let me in on it until about twenty minutes before the date. I was on my way to Veronica’s place in Sleepy Hollow at the time, so it was damn good thing he confessed. Otherwise, might have ended real badly for everyone.

Q: What was it that drew you to your mate?
She does this thing. Bites on her lip. Twirls her hair. Brings out cookies and sandwiches and lemonade to my crews who’ve been trying to renovate her mansion for months. We’d have been done weeks ago, if she didn’t keep making me change things. I’ll growl at her for that, but I’m kinda secretly glad. You think she’s the cool, sophisticated lady of the manor, and then she goes and shows how vulnerable she is. She’s a witch. Really. Not a super sorceress or anything, although she’s totally bewitched me.  She doesn’t think she’s a very good witch. Her late husband, who was 85, was sort of mentoring her along when he … uh, bought the farm. Some reviewer said she was a witch-in-training. Yeah, I like that idea much better than her thinking she’s a not very good witch.

Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your partner(s)?
They’re all naughty fun and a little wild. I don’t really want to talk about this.   I made sure her house has plenty of Jacuzzis, though.  Yeah, and that first night…one second we were on the marble floor in the grand hall. The next second we were in the master suite in bed. She’s got a wand. So do I.

Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?
All of the above. Lately, more commando than not.

Q: If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick he/she can play?
All she has to do is look at me.

Q: What was one of the most embarrassing thing your author did to you in THUNDER?
Well, one time I thought we were having phone sex. And we weren’t.
And she signed up for a 1Night Stand date!
I mean, she calls me up to Sleepy Hollow on the Fourth of July, in the middle of a thunderstorm and I think she’s gonna hassle me about new plans for the mansion. And I’m standing on her doorstep when I suddenly realize some of my most secret sizzling hot dreams about her are about to come true.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?
I drop a lot of “f” bombs.  And my baby’s got me totally wrapped around her fingers.   Maybe I’ve talked too much already.  But you can come read our story in THUNDER. It’s hot!

Thank you Sean for joining us on 'Meet the Character' day here at Dawn’s Reading Nook Blog. Please find THUNDER by Taryn Kincaid at DecadentPublishing.com.

A 1NS Story

Lonely young witch, Veronica Hardwicke, has struggled to get on with her life after the death of the elderly husband who’d left her a fortune and a sprawling estate in mystical Sleepy Hollow. When frightening things go bump in the night on a stormy Fourth of July, who better to call than the sexy developer and contractor, Sean Jones, who's been renovating her mansion for months?

Sean may grace the tabloid pages with a different supermodel on his arm every night, but it's Veronica who drives him nuts. Ignoring his instinct to stay away, he answers her summons.

Will the thundering passion of their 1Night Stand tear down the barriers between them?

Excerpt:

Veronica paced back and forth in the grand entry foyer of the Belmont mansion, the kitten heels of her Prada mules clacking on the marble floors.
The rest of the place might not be finished, but she’d insisted on having a few rooms completed, so at least she felt like she was living in a home, rather than a massive, never-ending construction project. Well, her contractor had insisted, even though working around the main entrance and central hallway created more work for him and his crew. But she was forced to admit he was right.
Her cell phone chimed on top of the antique credenza shoved flush against one wall. She leaped for it. Probably Geneviève, to regale her with all the fun she was having in Paris. Or Sean, to advise her he couldn’t make it after all. She sighed and read the text message on the small screen.
Congratulations, Veronica. 1Night Stand has found your date. Have a good time.
With both anxiety and mounting excitement, she stared at the screen and waited. No other info. Outside in the night, thunder boomed. She jumped then laughed at herself.
Ghosts are one thing, but freaking out at the weather now? Cripes, you really do need this date!
She let her imagination run wild, then texted back for more details:
When? Where? Who?
An insistent pounding at the front door jarred her out of her fantasy. She swung the door open on another explosive crack of thunder.
Sean stood on her doorstep, his soaked T-shirt molding sculpted pecs and abs, his drenched hair flattened over his brow. Rain poured down as he fiddled with his iPhone, a bemused expression on his face. Behind him, jagged arrows of lightning tore the dark sky. He glared at the screen, glanced at her in confusion, then back at the screen.
Veronica’s own phone pinged again. Thunder roared. She read the message in disbelief.
You’re looking at him.

Thanks for having us in today, Dawn. Glad to see Sean didn't drop any "f" bombs! And he was talking about his squeeze, Veronica -- not me --when he was blabbing about the phone sex and her signing up for a 1Night Stand! But I guess you knew that!
