My Rating for Pap's Boy- 5 Stars and a recommended read
Ray Sloane is tired of being alone. He wants what his friends have-love, companionship, a life with his partner. What he gets after a night at the infamous Pink Palm is a man so deep in the closet and full of so much pain, Ray wonders if he just bit off more than he can handle.
Zeke is a divorced gay man, with bigot parents who have systematically tried to beat the 'gay' out of him. From a camp where he was beaten, had EST and more done to him to losing his kids to his now ex-wife then losing the one thing that gave him joy-teaching, Zeke is at the end of his rope. Lost, broken and in a world of pain, it will take all of Ray's determination, faith and love to show this broken man that there is a life out there for him...all he needs is a little faith and courage to take that step. Can Zeke find it in himself to let himself live again even as he falls for Ray?
Sue Brown continues to stun me with her work. With the complex and vulnerable characters to a story line that could be seen in the everyday news around the world, this author delivers a series and a perfect ending to the Morning Report series. Her characters are exquisite, the story line had me laughing, crying then cheering in secession and I got to admit, the moment I picked up Morning Report, I knew I found that one author I will buy no matter what. Her books are poignant, satisfying and exquisitely written.
Papa's Boy delivers a complex yet fulfilling story that will leave you breathless. Hate in any form is awful and a sad fact, real in today's world. Ms. Brown captures it perfectly in her Morning Report series and in this wonderful follow up to Complete Faith, we find Noah's second in command, Ray Sloane, finally finding the man he needs...too bad Zeke is one basket case and on the edge of a cliff. He is deeply in the closet, told repeatedly from his bigot parents that he is a sin and had his kids taken away, lost his job and more. This is a man reeling in pain and it is up to Ray to help lead him from the cliff's edge and show him he can have a life again, to love again and to heal in Ray's arms. It will take all of Ray's strength, faith, love and devotion to show Zeke that he is worthy of being loved and that he can get away from the hate he has lived with for years.
Sue Browns wonderful Papa's Boy delivers a strong story line that will make you wish you could wrap your arms around Ray and Zeke and tell them it will be alright, that it just takes time and strength plus lots of love-from Momma, to Noah and to Luke, Simon and the Lost Cow hands. Zeke will find he has a future if he is brave enough to take that major step.
Pap's Boy is more than guy meets guy and fall in love. it's about dealing with hate, about finally accepting you are who you are and no one can change you and that love is more than pleasure, it can be healing as well. Sue Brown captures all this and more in her latest Morning Report story and I can hardly wait for her next one.

Western/Cowboys M/M
Available in E-book & Print
A decade on from their first kiss, Luke Murray is more in love with Simon every day. Running the Lost Cow ranch for Luke’s parents, they keep their heads down and get along with the locals, even if Luke is known for being a hothead. Then one day they discover the local store owners refuse to serve them.
They’re bewildered until Luke’s mom tells them the new pastor has targeted the couple in his sermons. Suddenly Luke and Simon find themselves alienated from people they called friends, and their ranch comes under a series of attacks. As the town’s hatred and homophobia turns on them, Luke and Simon will face a critical choice: give in to the town’s demands and disappear, or stand and fight for themselves and their love.
Complete Faith
Book 2
Interracial Western/Cowboys M/M
For Tommy Bradley, a hand working on the Lost Cow Ranch in rural Texas, admitting his sexuality is impossible, even if his bosses, Luke and Simon, are gay—Tommy has spent his entire life hiding the truth from his homophobic parents. Then Tommy meets pastor Noah Taylor in Luke’s father’s hospital room, and his difficult secret becomes that much harder to keep.
Noah is unlike any man of God—or any man—Tommy’s ever met. For one thing, his congregation is made up primarily of GLBT individuals and their families. For another, he isn’t afraid of the attraction he feels toward Tommy, and he makes his intentions very clear. But Noah won’t hide his sexuality or his love from the world, and he won’t start a relationship with Tommy while Tommy hides his, either. Faced with the choice of losing Noah or coming out to his parents, Tommy takes his first steps out of the closet.
But Tommy isn’t the only one facing challenges. Thanks to an outpouring of hatred from Pastor Jackson and a group of ranch owners, Noah must cope with the possible loss of his church and his livelihood.
Papa's Boy
Book 3
Western M/M
When Ray Sloane tires of the men in his usual club, he finds himself in the Pink Palm, an inauspiciously named spit-and-sawdust dive, not the sort of place an elementary school teacher and pastor’s assistant should be seen in. On the other hand, Ray needs a fresh face. But what he gets is a closeted, desperately unhappy divorcĂ© named Zeke.
Losing his teaching job and his kids has left Zeke bitter and in denial about his sexuality, but Ray is determined to get under his skin. Just as Zeke starts to relax, life interferes with Ray’s plans: Lee, the teenage organist from St. Mark's, tells his parents that he was abused as a teeanger by a prominent congregation member from his old church, and Ray becomes the target of bullies at school and has to worry about his own job. With the specter of what happened to Zeke hanging over him, Ray must protect Lee and his own reputation, all while trying to convince Zeke that he doesn’t need to run away when their relationship grows more intense.
