Where were you ten years ago?

I don't remember much of my busy days in September 2001. I had a newborn to take care, a toddler and a marriage exploding. But waking up on September 11th and seeing the news of the twin towers in flames, hearing the screams and the panic on the TV, I hugged my children and prayed really hard that this was just an accident until the second plane hit the towers, the plane hit the pentagon and an aborted hijacking hit a field in Pennsylvania.

Life changed in those minutes to something I can't even begin to explain now. Our safe world was gone and in it's place was one of terror watches, wars and always looking over our shoulder. The time of innocence was over. Now we watched the shadows and the sunshine for potential threats, hugged our children close and grieved for our world forever changed.

September 11th, 2001 changed the world I live in, where I raise my children and have hope that we can finally be at peace. We won't forget those who died in those attacks nor will we ever forget the way our country came together, supported one another and helped heal a fractured country. The bad guys are still out there, different people but same agenda yet we still march on, surviving and hoping for a world of peace amid the vigilence.

To our fallen comrades, we won't forget you.

To the ones who fought for us, we salute and honor you.

To the children of tomorrow, hope is one thing these people cannot take away from u s no matter how hard they try to.
