My Personal Review for Ty Hard by Laura Harner

I got to admit, reading Laura Harner's Ty Hard was not a hard thing to do...that is after I drooled over the hot Dan Skinner Cover and frankly, the story blurb had me sitting up and taking notice. Who doesn't love cowboys-hot, sexy as sin cowboys to be exact?

Tyler Hardin has a medical discharge and no where to go. Meeting up with his Navy buddy Gibby sounded like a plan but when he gets there, he finds sorrow as he finds the man he thought of as a surrogate father dead. Meeting ranch owner Cass Cartwright was something he never anticipated. Falling in love was not on either of their to-do list yet neither Cass nor Ty could hide their growing feelings for one another. Cass has his work cut out for him as he tries to help Ty heal from his past while showing him they have a future even as someone comes close to destroying all of what Cass built with a blink of an eye.

I got to admit, this was the first book I read of this author and I just about fell in love with her characters, Tyler and Cass.  The story was well written, flowed nicely and kept my attention throughout the afternoon. I basically couldn't put it down, even to start dinner. I needed to know what would happen next for these two complicated men.

Ms. Harner does a great job in creating well rounded characters with real issues to deal with and I found she knew her subject matter for Tyler really well. The characters are multi-dimensional, captivating and can I say hot as sin. Cass Cartwright has his work cut out for him when he meets Tyler for the first time. Telling Tyler about his surrogate father's death was hard enough but finding himself attracted to the young man complicated things even more. Tyler was so far in the closet, Cass wondered if he even should bother acting on his attraction to the young man. What got to me about Tyler and Cass is that both had a past that haunted them and it was nice to see their romance play out slowly, develop and come together in the end. There were a few secondary characters which had me intrigued and I am eager to see more of them in future books.

I got to admit, I was hooked from the moment I opened the book and couldn’t put it down at all. The characters come alive with emotions as the story moved nicely and the few twists left me gasping in disbelief. My heart ached for both men as they slowly revealed their pasts to one another and then felt myself well up as their emotions were felt within the story. You really feel how these two strong men humbled and vulnerable to the one they love in Ty Hard and this author really does a great job in creating the perfect setting for them to shine.

Ty Hard is more than two people meet, fall in love and live happily ever after. It's about letting go of the past in order to have a future...to know that yes, you are worthy of love and to be loved in return. Laura Harner delivers a stellar introduction to the Willow Creek Ranch series and one I am eager to read more of.

Love hot, sexy complex cowboys? Then settle in for a fun filled ride in Ty Hard. i do recommend you put that ice bucket nearby so you can cool down...all those sparks between Ty and Cass had my computer screen smoking. I look forward to more wonderful books from this author and hope you will pick up Ty Hard to enjoy as well.
