Blurb/Synopsis:
Newly minted firefighter Chase van Casten has always seen things others miss—except when it comes to love—so when a string of fires pops up at his new job, he knows right away that something isn’t right. Unfortunately, the only person who believes him is the owner of one of the burned properties.
Jerrod Whipkey lost everything he owned when his home burned. Investigators determine the fire’s cause to be faulty wiring, but as an electrician, Jerrod checked it over thoroughly. Now he’s in danger of losing his reputation along with everything else. While Chase and Jerrod try to untangle the truth behind the fires, the heat between them builds to white-hot. But while Chase keeps Jerrod at arm’s length, the arsonist seems to have both of them in their sights. Can they forge a way forward with their hearts intact and uncover the arsonist before they get burned?
Tell us about your latest book, who are the main characters and what we can expect when we pick it up. Up In Flames is a firefighter romance. Chase is a relatively new fireman and Jerrod is an electrician. When the fire that cost Jerrod his house is ruled electrical, Jerrod is threatened with losing his reputation as well as his home.
Which of your books would you recommend for readers to choose first if they’re new-to-you? Through the Flames, Rescue Me, and Fire and Water. Each of these is the start of a terrific series.
What do you love most about where you live? The town of Carlisle is amazing. There’s history, great people, and along with a sense of vibrancy that I just love.
Tell us 3 interesting things about yourself. Oh goodness, coming up with three isn’t all that easy. I garden in the summer, hibernate a lot in the winter. I love to take a cruise with my husband each year. In late 2026, I have a signing in Florence, so Dominic and I are going to Italy.
How do you approach character development in your stories? Do you have any specific techniques or methods that you find particularly effective? I have been pretty lucky in that my characters are usually the first thing to come to me and they tell me their stories pretty early. But in case something is missing or light, I have checklists in my head that I have used for years to make sure they are well rounded.
What do you believe sets your writing apart from others in your genre, and why should readers choose to read your books? An Andrew Grey book tends to be gentle, will always have a happy ending, and is filled with heart. I don’t write angsty books. The world throws a ton of bad things at all of us, we don’t need to add more. A also believe in adding humor and making sure each story is packed with heart.
Tell us about what you are reading at the moment or anticipate reading in the future.Any favorite authors you enjoy reading in your spare time? I have a number of favorite authors, but right now, I am reading Lee Pini’s Six Places to Fall in Love.
Can you
discuss any upcoming projects or books that you’re currently working on? I am working on the follow up to Up In Flames
right now. I don’t have a title yet, but
I am really enjoying this story. It’s
got a fireman and a professor. So a sort
of brains and brawn story.
What can
readers expect from your future works? I
have plenty of stories in the works. Be
sure to check out Hunks of the Month which is coming in May.
