Character Spotlight with Carys Seraphine: Winter's Call 2: Hunger

Please give a warm welcome to Dr. Adriana Hill from Winter’s Call 2: Hunger by Carys Seraphine today as we sit down and see what makes her tick.

Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the crosshairs for your author?

Well, to be honest, it was kind of an accident. My sister’s friend went into labor, and when the original doctor couldn’t make it, I stepped in to deliver the baby. That’s also when I found out I HAD a sister. Neither of us had any idea the other existed.

Q: What was it that drew you to your mate?

You mean besides the suit and him being a hot detective? *grins* He’s protective and sweet, brave, and open-minded. Did I mention he’s HOT?? *fans self* Whoa. When he first showed up at my door (to deliver bad news, I admit), I couldn’t stop staring.

Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your partner(s)?

*laughs* We got a bit… frisky in a dance club. He was there to keep an eye on a suspect, and I was there to offer my services as a donor. He saw me using my magic (as a witch) to get a young woman out of a bad situation, and, soon enough, I was on the dance floor and grinding against an amazing body. That was our first night and the night he discovered I have a clit ring. Damn, that man knows exactly what to do with one, too…

Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?

Naked. *laughs* If I could get Logan to walk around completely nude all the time, I totally would! Of course, that’s probably not a great idea. Can’t imagine how he’d explain THAT if one of his coworkers had to arrest him for indecent exposure.

Q: If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick they can do to seduce you?

Look at me. That’s it. All he has to do is look at me. I’m a witch and an empath, so sensing emotions is natural. Logan wears his on his sleeve, and he doesn’t hide how much he wants me. So, yeah, all it takes is a single, smoldering look from those gorgeous blue eyes.

Q: What is the one place on your partner's body that you know will drive them wild-in and out of bed?

His neck. It’s incredibly sensitive, and I love kissing and nipping it just to make him shudder and moan. Barring that, well, the obvious: his cock.

Q: What was one of the most embarrassing things your author did to you in Hunger?

At the aforementioned dance club, I almost whacked Logan in the head with a full water bottle. In my defense, he DID startle me from behind. He has quick reflexes, though, so he didn’t get soaked. Me, on the other hand? *grins* He had me in the palm of his hand VERY quickly.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

My book, Hunger, comes out on Nov 22! In the meantime, you can read my sister’s book, Devotion, now! Links are below. *waves*

EXCERPT:

“Dr. Adriana Hill? The vamp doc? Think she’s involved?”

“I think she may be a target,” Logan said. “Gut feeling. I’ll be in touch.”

Logan went back toward Dr. Hill’s office and stepped inside. He placed everything on the scanner table and nodded at the guard. The detector beeped, but given his profession, the guard just waved him by. Logan gathered his things and walked up to the receptionist’s desk.

“Hello, can I help you?”

He handed a business card to the young woman. “I need to speak with Dr. Hill, please.”

“Oh, yes, Detective. Please have a seat, and I’ll let her know.”

Logan sat in a nearby chair before giving the decent-sized waiting room a cursory glance. A few patients sat scattered around the room, most of them on their phones.

“Detective Greer?”

Logan looked up and couldn’t help but be taken aback by those mesmerizing dark emerald eyes. He stood and offered his hand, which she shook. “I apologize for this unannounced visit, Dr. Hill. Do you have a moment?”

Though she seemed a bit apprehensive, Dr. Hill gestured toward the hallway. “Of course, follow me.” Once inside her office, she shut the door and sat behind her desk. “There’s been another murder.”

Logan blinked. “How --”

“Rumors spread like wildfire in the vampire community, Detective. Several of my patients have mentioned it this evening.”

Logan sat down and tugged out a battered notepad and pen. “That makes sense. I imagine losing one of their own would get them talking about it amongst themselves. Did you know her?”

“Not personally. She was one of Edith’s patients, so I never saw her in that capacity. What happened?”

“Her body was found about a block from here, stuffed behind a dumpster like a ragdoll. No blood loss, no burns, no evidence of even attempted decapitation.” He glanced up at her. “Dr. Hill, the fact that she resembled you a great deal is of particular concern.”

Dr. Hill leaned back, her expression pensive. “You think someone mistook her for me?”

“It’s not a guarantee, but the thought crossed my mind. Despite being a patient of Edith Tanner’s, the victim bears an uncanny resemblance to you, and the murder took place within a block of your office. I asked you before if Dr. Tanner had any enemies.”

Dr. Hill nodded.

“Now I’m asking that of you: is there anyone who would want to harm you?”

Author Bio:

Carys Seraphine is an alter ego of gay romance author Mychael Black and fantasy author Katherine Cook. Carys adores paranormal anything, be it ghosts, ghouls, or goblins. Okay... maybe not goblins. Not even Carys can make THEM sexy.
