Tell us about your latest book, who are the main characters and what can we expect when we pick it up? The female main character in The Shadowed Moon is Sarah, a young vampire with a tragic past. Vampires killed her family and kidnapped her when she was only seven years old. After torturing and training her for years, they turned her into a vampire to become their soldier. She now hates all vampires, including herself, and thus surrenders to a group of hunters to help them kill as many monsters as possible.
Dave is one of these hunters. He also lost his family
to a vampire attack and became a hunter to protect others from the same fate. The
constant fighting disillusions him, and he hopes for a better solution. So, Sarah’s
unusual behavior catches his interest.
You can expect a fast-paced paranormal romance. The two
main characters take a while to realize and admit their feelings, so we’ve got
a mix of tropes like enemies to friends to lovers, forced proximity, slow burn,
and only one bed.
Do you come up
with the hook first, or do you create characters first and then dig through
until you find a hook? For my first two books, The Waxing Moon and The
Shadowed Moon, I had the story in my head for years. The characters were vaguer
and took form throughout the writing process.
Which of your own characters would you like to have lunch with? It’s tough to decide on just one. I really like Lilah, since her personality and dreams are based on my own. So, it’d be fun to meet with her.
But I’d also enjoy meeting some of the male side characters from The
Waxing Moon, like Laurant, Lucious, and Daniel. To be fair, Daniel probably
would not come if I invited him to lunch, which leaves Laurant or Lucious. And
since Lucious is a rather dangerous choice, I’ll stick to Laurant.
Next on my list is Kingly Bitten, the fifth book in a
dark paranormal romance series by Lexi C. Foss.
My favorite author is Jeaniene Frost with her night
huntress series.
Which of your own
books would you like to live in? Both of my books are set in the same world, so it’s not
really a choice. Either way, I’d love to live in the world I created and meet
my vampires.
What do you do when
you have free time? Apart from writing—which is my hobby—I enjoy reading,
tai chi, going on a walk with my puppy, and playing games. I also like to
travel to other countries like Canada or Japan.
How do you approach
character development in your stories? Do you have any specific techniques or
methods that you find particularly effective? I don’t really have a process for character
development. I feel like the stories I write shape my characters, so their
character development is a byproduct of my writing.
What do you believe
sets your writing apart from others in your genre, and why should readers
choose to read your books?
My writing style is rather fast-paced. Some people
enjoy it, others don’t, so I’d mostly recommend my books to people who are part
of the former group.
I often try to use places I visited as the settings for
my stories. So, in The Waxing Moon, you get to read about several
European countries. In The Shadowed Moon, some scenes take place in
different North American cities I traveled to in 2016.
Can you discuss any upcoming projects or books that you’re currently working on? What can readers expect from your future works? I’m not working on any new projects yet. However, some of the side characters from The Waxing Moon demand their own stories. So, there are lots of potential ideas for more books.

Excerpt
Three:
“Okay then.” She swallowed and backed away. “Come at me and
try to land a hit.”
He drew his sword. “Just one?”
“One will be hard enough, trust me.” She disappeared, only
to reappear on the opposite side of the hall with a grin. “I’ll give you ten
minutes before I go on the offensive.”
“All right.” He stormed at her.
Every time he approached, she glided out of reach. Whenever
he thought he’d cornered her, she vanished. How did she move so incredibly
fast? After a while, he bent over, panting.
“If you can’t get close, you’ll never touch me.”
“Well, you’re just running away. Looks like you’re afraid to
face me,” he taunted her.
She laughed. “I’m not, and I’ll happily prove it to you in—”
She glanced at the clock on the gym wall. “—three…two…one…now. Your time is
up.”
He swallowed and tightened the grip on his sword. “Well
then, turn your words into actions because I’m not running either.”
“As you wish.” She flew at him. With the force of her speed,
she pushed him back against the wall. Faster than he could react, she seized
his arms with hers and pressed her delicate body against his to keep him from
fighting back.
Her soft breasts rubbed against his chest as he struggled
against her, and the scent of chocolate and coconut assaulted his senses. She
tempted him in more ways than one, and his hands ached to break free and
explore her body. A flush of warmth spread through him as he imagined turning
their training session into a make-out one. Since this was neither the time nor
the place for
such thoughts, he shook his head to clear it.
When his jeans tightened, he knew he’d lost the
battle—against his arousal.
