ANGEL WINGS OF HOPE
Aether - Afriel's and Charmeine's
coalition of hope
Dear Angels, please wrap your arms
around those who are hurting today, and let them feel how much you love and care

Afriel, the
Angel of Youth and Charmeine, Angel of Harmony were almost always hand-in-hand.
Considering they were eternally child-like in appearance and forever pleasant,
most thought they’d linger in the part of the Aether that was vivid and multicolored rather than the darker space
they occupied. Their preferred space was an enormous cavern with bluish tones
and diffused pinkish light at the far end as if a distant sun. With vibrant
white hair, enormous doll-like eyes which irradiated and pastel shaded clothes,
they were the light. None else was needed.
Yet, their wings
defied their pale personas. Bigger than either of them in size, they were
wispy, boned, dark, slightly tattered and more bat-like than angelic.
"Catch me
if you can," throttled Afriel as she raced deep, peering from behind a
rock.
"Are...
you... my... firefly?" asked Charmeine.
"I am your
game... come on and play."
"If... I
win... will... you... feed... me?"
"Red grapes
and celery."
The two bounded
in joyful amusement.
Charmeine
symbolized how both dark and light in co-existence, created harmony while
Afriel believed their wings represented the power of light over dark. After
all, they were in charge of the wings not the other way around. They never
argued the point, for both agreed somehow their wings were Wings of Hope and
that was all they needed to know. Plus, they were in agreement with mostly all
else.
“It is time to
make a difference,” Afriel announced, her voice as mature sounding as a woman
of fifty, thought she was many centuries older.
“I… feel… the…
discord…. disquiets… my… soul….” Charmeine spoke in pauses, considering every
melodious syllable should have its own moment to shine.
“Then we are in
agreement, helping Jerry Sarin would help many?”
“The… spirit…
wishes… it… so.”
With a whisper
of sound and a turtle’s blink, the two bled through the membrane that separated
dimensions.
