My Rating for Hide: Spotless #1: 3.5 Stars
Adal doesn’t know kindness or comfort from another person.
All he knows is abuse and pain. So when he finds his mate, well let’s just say
he is dumbfounded because a half-breed like him shouldn’t have a fated mate,
right?
Dorso Rodriguez doesn’t know what hit him but when he lays
eyes on Adal, well let’s just say he finds the man of his dreams staring right
at back at him. But danger lurks as Adal’s father will do anything he has to to
get rid of Adal and his brother even murder.
My Personal Book Review:
I got to admit I haven’t read any of this author’s books before and when I saw this series it intrigued me. But be advised that if you didn’t read the Leopard Series then you might be a trifle confused like I was at first. The story follows Adal and Dorso as they first come together. Granted Dorso is unconscious and Adal has no idea what to do especially since all he knows is pain and more at the hands of his father and his family. Adal has no idea how to cope or figure things out after everything that has happened to him. I love how this author captures Adal’s innocence amid the pages. Dorso is the more experienced one of the two yet he finds Adal’s gentleness and innocence delightful and a major turn-on. The characters are well written, captivating and kept me glued to the pages. The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot and the author kicks it up a notch with scorching scenes that will make you blush. The story weaves a spell around you as the author keeps you on the edge of your seat as Adal’s father’s henchmen pursue them and a mystery of just what is happening to Adal continues within the pages. There is action aplenty and a mystery that plays along the pages as a sub-story. Plus I want to know more about Steven, Adal’s brother.
HIDE is a fast paced paranormal story that touches on abuse, rape and more that may shock the reader but the author does a good job in capturing Adal’s emotions as they ping all over the place while with Dorso. The additions of some new characters help keep the story moving and kept me on the edge of the seat. I was eager to read book two after I finished HIDE since the ending left a few questions open for future books. HIDE is a perfect lazy afternoon read that you can’t help but get lost in. I do recommend reading this author’s Leopard Series first to see some of the backstory on a few secondary characters that popped up in HIDE. Otherwise this is a perfect story to be introduced to this author’s writing style. I am eager to read more from this author in the coming months.
