Please give a warm welcome to Matt
Blanco from Out in the Field
by Kate McMurray today as we sit down
and see what makes him tick.
Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the crosshairs for your
author?
Hi. Well, I played first base for the Eagles. They're a Major League
team in New York City. I had a pretty good career, you know, a couple of Golden
Gloves, pretty good numbers. Deep down, though, I'm just a kid from Brooklyn.
But Kate, man, she's this big baseball fan. She thought I had a story worth
telling. So here we are.
Q: What was it that drew you to your mate?
Dude, have you seen him? First moment I laid eyes on him, I was a
goner. But Iggy is also this really sweet, smart, funny guy, and I can just
totally be myself around him. He gets me. I don't have to be this big baseball
star, and I don't have to hide my sexuality either. With Iggy, I'm myself. It's
great.
Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your
partner(s)?
We hooked up for the first time in the locker room in FSB Stadium,
home of the Eagles. I was so worried we'd get caught, but it was too hot an
opportunity to pass up!
Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?
Briefs. You can't very well wear boxers under baseball uniform
pants.
Q:
If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick he can play?
Most days, Iggy just has to give me this look he has. It's kind of
just a smirk, but man, that gets me every time.
Q: What is the one place on your partner's body that you know will
drive him wild-in and out of bed?
I couldn't ever do anything that would affect his game, but he's a
sucker for a good massage. You rub his shoulders, he becomes putty. He also
loves to kiss and has a great mouth.
Q: What was one of the most embarrassing thing your author did to you
in Out in the Field?
I had some low moments. See, I hurt my knee pretty bad. I lied about
how bad it was, pretended like it didn't hurt as much as it did. That sure came
back to bite me in the ass—I had to stop playing for a while. And not playing
baseball was the worst thing that could have happened, because that's all my
whole life had been up to that point. Or that's what I thought, anyway. I said
some things I'm not too proud of to people I care about.
Q: Anything else you would like to add?
Don't let all the baseball talk scare you off! The book tells the
story of my learning to be more than just baseball. Also, there was that hot
sex scene in the locker room; that was pretty great, if you ask me.

BLURB:
Matt Blanco has had a Hall-of-Fame-worthy career as the
first baseman for the legendary Brooklyn Eagles, but age and a knee injury are
threatening to end it. That's when rookie Ignacio Rodriguez walks into his
life. Matt has a policy of not getting involved with anyone for fear that they
might share his secret with the world: that he's a gay professional athlete.
But this new rookie has him wanting to throw that policy out the window.
Iggy Rodriguez just got everything he ever wanted: a
position in the starting lineup of the Brooklyn Eagles, his favorite team since
he was a kid. Even better, he's playing alongside his idol Matt Blanco. A
locker room encounter one day reveals that he and Matt have even more in common
than he would have guessed.
When Matt and Iggy fall for each other, they have a hard
road ahead, their path to happiness blocked by injuries, trades, and the New
York media hungry for a scandal. Fate has pitched them a game-winning run, but
will the choice between love and baseball make them with a no-hitter instead?
