The holidays are coming and I start getting mixed emotions.
I love having the time with my family, those who don't live in my house, but it
is a time of year when my usual schedule is disrupted, which always is a bit
disconcerting for me.
I'm a creature of habit. I get up at the same time each day
and have the same routine—get my coffee and my cinnamon raison bagel with
crunchy peanut butter, eat that while I read my email then settle into some
writing with my puppy (she's little so I say puppy, but she's actually two
years old) beside me, keeping my right leg warm.
I write for several hours (or research or plot whatever the
day calls for), while my night owl husband and daughter sleep. I'm blessed with
a husband who cooks and generally keeps the house running while I thump away at
the keyboard.
Holidays require me to shop (pass the root canal, please!)
and prior to shopping, I have to think about the gifts I want to give. Our
twelve year old (he'll be 13 in January, but I'll hold onto 12 as long as I
can) grandson is easy. I asked him yesterday what he wanted, and he said,
"You know, Grammie, kids my age can always use money." HA! Easy and
requires no shopping. I'm in.
I'll do the same for our five-year-old granddaughter or
rather give the money to her Daddy and let him shop. He hates it as much as I
do, but hey, I did it for him, now he can return the favor. Turn around's fair
play as they say.
My sister is easy – she wants a set of my print books. Done!
Our daughters – I haven't a clue. Not a single one. Gift
certificates? Sounds good to me.
My husband – well I don't think I can top the espresso
machine I gave him last year. He covets that thing as though it was made out of
gold. Tells me every day it's the best gift he's ever gotten. And to think he
told me I shouldn't have spent so much money on a coffee maker. Mama scored on
that one!
Our son –in-law – We'd give him his weight in gold if I
could. He's a jewel. He loves my pumpkin pie. *jots that down*
Our son – no clue, he's difficult to buy for. He caught on
to the new shirt deal years ago, so can't reprise that one. I suppose I'll have
to ask. I wonder if kids his age could use money?
That's the list. Not massive, but though provoking. I'll
come through, always do, but the process is daunting, especially when I don't
want to devote the time to it.
Ooh, as for me, I love gift certificates to online
bookstores. Someone please tell my family. Lots of gift certificates to online
bookstores…lots…
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and Happy Holidays to
my friends who don't. May your new year be prosperous and filled with love and
romance.
Much love to you

Are you willing to put yourself in our hands?
After being stood up by his ex in Costa del Sol, Romeo Club member
Brady seeks a cure for rejectionitis among the welcoming and well-toned
arms of a number of other Club members. After a night of beachfront
fantasy and erotic massage, Brady needs no coaxing to put himself into
the able hands of Kyle, the Romeo Club's master masseur.
To Kyle, "deep tissue massage" means much, much more than rubbing out tense shoulders and backs. Beneath Kyle's sure fingers and even surer cock, Brady reaches heights of pleasure beyond his wildest imaginings. Just one problem with what Kyle has to offer: after sampling his many skills, Brady knows he'll need to come back for a second taste, and a third, and a fourth . . .
Once you've been rubbed the right way, you'll never think of erotic massage quite the same again.

Hi, Brita! Now that everyone in our family is older, we like to give each other GCs :-) Much easier than trying to figure out what to give someone who already has everything they need!

I'm with you Sarah. It's crazy to go racing around when you can just as easily give everyone the GCs and let them do it.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Brita
