My Personal Review for Hot Head by Damon Suede

There comes a story that you find by chance that absolutely blows you away. Mine is Hot Head. I am not sure I can do much justice on this review for the book. The words are hard to come by because this is a story that literally blew me away. Amazing characters, scorching hot sex and a story that is so amazing, you are eager for more. This is Hot Head and here is my review.

My Rating for Hot Head: 5+ Stars & Recommended Read

Firefighter Griffin "Griff" Muir has loved his best friend, surrogate brother, Dante Anastagio, it seems like forever. Dealing with his feelings has him tied up in knots, guilty and worried if he confesses his secret to Dante, the friendship he cherishes is gone in a blink of an eye. So he suffers in silence, pushing away comments and questions as he tries to deal with it even as he revels in Dante's presence. Then Dante comes to Griffin asking for help and his solution will have consequences that neither foresee. Griffin will do anything for Dante, the question is can he do this with his heart intact or will his darkest fantasies come alive with a touch by Dante? And what happens if Dante feels the same way about Griffin? Can these two find their way to one another without losing their jobs, their self-respect and their friendship?

I don’t know what to say about HOT HEAD except to admit that this is a book that will have you running the gauntlet of emotions. Happiness, sadness, anger, fear. You experience them all with the characters, Griffin “Griff” and Dante. It was like you were on a roller coaster, never knowing where the story will take you next. Damon Suede is a very talented author who completely captivated me from the beginning with his firefighters, a story that took a traditional romance and turned it on its ear and delivers some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. HOT HEAD is more about two people admitting they have feelings for one another; it’s about finding the strength to go after what you want-damn the consequences. It’s about love-be it in friendship, family or romantic love. It’s about that connection you feel when you find that special someone(s) in your life that make your heart light and your soul at peace. Damon Suede delivers a complicated, wonderful and absolutely enthralling story of all these and more. This is an author who knows how to create amazing characters, capture his readers’ imagination and doesn’t let them go until the last emotional drop is wringing from his readers.

I fell in love with Griffin and Dante. These two are absolutely delicious yet you could feel the seething undercurrents between them. They are close friends, almost like brothers yet Griffin has been struggling with his heart for some time now. He is afraid to admit his feelings for Dante-even to himself-afraid to ruin the friendship he cherishes yet the sparks fly whenever these two step on the page together. My heart bled for Griffin. To be so conflicted like that, it was heartbreaking at times. Told in Griffin’s POV, you get to see how this gentle bear of a man wrestles with his heart as he tries to figure out who he is in reality. Is he gay? Bisexual? Just who is Griffin Muir? That is the cusp of the story and you get the chance to take that journey alongside Griff as he finds the peace he needs, craves in Dante’s arms. You really get to know Dante as well. The man who hides his heart with meaningless one night stands, determined to survive in a bad economy, doing his job and enjoying his family as well as his friendship with Griffin. You meet Dante’s family (and Griffin’s surrogate family) & some amazing secondary characters that have me hoping the author brings them back in future books. The characters are well rounded, multi-dimensional and so lifelike, that I wanted to go see if my firehouse had guys like these because man, I was squirming more than once just from the fantasies I was having about buff, hunky firemen. The sex scenes are hot, very erotic and show a connection between Griff and Dante that will make your heart melt even as your knees get weak. I was quite afraid the computer screen was going to blow up from the sparks flying between these two. Damon Suede definitely knows his characters and gives them free reign to grow in the story which I loved.

Hot Head delivers timeless story that will steal your heart before you even know it. Tight writing, amazing cast of characters, scorching hot sex scenes...what more can a reader ask for on a cold November night. Damon Suede is a  masterful storyteller who knows exactly how to reel in his readers and hook them without them even anticipating it. This is an author I just HAD to add to my auto-buy list after reading Hot Head and I can not wait to get this in print, just so I can read it again. This time with my honey nearby so I can jump him instead of running outside in the cold to cool off. *grins*
Hot Head is more than a story about two men finding love. It's about figuring out who you are inside, accepting it and letting yourself know that it's ok to be the person you are meant to be. Hot Head is gritty, vibrant and definitly one book I am going to recommend to all my friends who enjoy hot sexy firemen, smoking sex scenes and an emotional story that will drive you to your knees. I can't wait to see what this author has in store for his readers next. I am just hoping it's a sequel to this amazing story.
