Under the Cover Character Interview~ Meet Marguerite

Please give a warm welcome to Marguerite from Mirabella’s Mardi Gras Ménage by Louisa Bacio today as we sit down and see what makes her tick.

Q: So tell us about yourself. What got you in the crosshairs for your author?

She didn’t expect me, that’s for sure! Louisa started out to write Mirabella’s story, and was under the impression it would be a more traditional M/F/M ménage. Guess what? Surprise! I ingrained myself into the storyline. I’ve got a history with the hero Nick, and when this story came out, I made myself known.

Q: What was it that drew you to your mates?

Nick is incredibly sexy, and complex. Although he acts tough, and like he doesn’t need anybody, underneath, he’s totally cuddly. But maybe not so warm as a vampire.

With Mirabella, she comes off naïve on the surface but that woman knows depth. And she’s totally protective of those she loves.

Q: A little naughty fun, where was the wildest place you seduced your partner(s)?

Until recently, Nick did everything but the traditional bedroom. Our most common tet-a-tet was the employee room of Club Blood, afterhours.

Q: Boxers, briefs or Commando on a man?

Prefer the boxer-briefs – stylish, but still roomy enough for easy access.

Q: If your partner wants to seduce you, what's one sure fire trick he/she can play?

When it comes to Nick, my vampire-lover, definitely get more than a little bit excited when he runs his fangs along my inner thigh.

Q: What is the one place on your partner's body that you know will drive them wild-in and out of bed?

For a vampire, you wouldn’t believe how sensitive Nick’s neck is … well, and his nipples. Even though he likes to bite, guess what? He likes to be bitten, too.

Q: What was one of the most embarrassing thing your author did to you in Mirabella’s Mardi Gras Ménage?

Most embarrassing? How about most – ahem – frustrating? There were a few scenes I would have liked to have been included. Let’s say a few more bedroom scenes. She, on the other hand, thought we were already 5k over the word count. I will have my day.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

Thanks so much for having me here. I hadn’t really thought I’d get a spotlight, but as part of this ménage it’s my story, too!

Teaser from Mirabella’s Mardi Gras Ménage

Constantly under the watchful eye of her Voodoo priestess aunt, Mirabella longs to break free during the events of Mardi Gras. Escapades draw her into the arms of Marguerite, a fiery redhead with a passion for life, and Nick, a familiar vampire who’s haunted by his transformation and past.

What starts as a new experience – a Mardi Gras Ménage – soon turns deadly, and none of their lives will ever be the same.

Excerpt:

A tickling sensation buzzed on the back of Marguerite’s neck. She turned around. Nick. Shivers ran over her arms at the sight of him, and she refocused on her tasks at hand. Since she talked to Mirabella about him earlier, she feared he’d somehow know simply by looking at her. He moved behind the bar, drawing closer to her.
“How are you holding up? Need to take a break?”
“Maybe in fifteen. I’ve got a few large orders I want to finish first.”
Her hands flew to different sections of her work station, almost automatically mixing the various drinks. She popped open a few Turbo beers and slid them onto a tray. She’d stocked the area herself, and it rarely changed, so the various tasks could be done on autopilot. Nothing she hated more than someone new coming in, and messing up her area.
Nick standing super-close to her—yeah, that she could deal with. Something about him—when he was near, her body vibrated.
The time he’d been with that freaky-looking chick Silver, he’d sort of drifted. He’d stopped working at the bar for a while, and now only took the night shifts. Not that she believed in stealing away another woman’s man, but Marguerite did have him first. Plus, she didn’t mind sharing—much. While he hadn’t outright said anything, Marguerite figured they’d split. He dropped a few hints, primarily something about her moving, and his moving out. Plus, he was around more often. His physical presence said more than he needed to verbally. He still kept his physical distance but if she had anything to do with it, he’d come back around soon enough.
“Hey, Red, what’cha doing after work?”
A tall, dark-haired guy had pushed his way through to the bar, and was leaning way over the divider.
“Crashing. What can I get for you?” she asked, placing a napkin in front of him. The quicker she served him, the quicker he’d be on his way.
He gave her a long look up and down, starting at her legs and traveling all the way up to linger on her mighty cleavage. Okay, yes, she dressed to impress and on more than a few nights she enjoyed the extra attention and tips she received, but something about Mr. Over-Suave gave her the creeps.
“How much for a drink of you?”
Did that dude just flash his fake-ass teeth at her? What the hell?
“Sorry, but—”
“She’s taken,” Nick said, shoving himself between her and the rude customer.
