Welcome Cathy Brockman

Welcome to my Reading Nook, Cathy Brockman. Please make yourself at home and let my cabana boys/girls get you a drink.

Comfortable? Wonderful. Now let’s get started.

Thank you for inviting us here today! Yes this is very comfy * Cathy and her muses eye cabana boys hungrily*

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
I’m a bit on the fickle side and couldn’t choose just one genre so I decided to try them all. My first book Love Bites ~First Bite is a paranormal romance. I also am working on a couple more paranormal series, a contemporary M/F romance and Two M/M romances.

If we asked your muse to describe you using five words, what do you think they would say?
That depends on which muse…probably…ocd, hopeless romantic, passionate, compassionate.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
I have a thing for very expensive cars, though I would never spend the money on one.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere cool. I hate heat!

If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend that they start with and why?
Love Bites~ First Bite: it’s my first

Where do you find the inspirations for your stories?
They just come to me. Some are inspired by a word, a song, a place, an interesting person I see, or a dream.

Are your characters able to love or do they need to be taught?
Most need to be retaught. Most of them have loved and lost or are looking for THE ONE.

Do you have a book that was easiest to write or one that was the hardest?
They have all been a mix of both, I’d say easiest is the newest I’m working on my M/M alien one Alone: Bennie and Major Thom. This character just begged me to write him. The hardest is my first series still under construction The Breeds; I want them to be perfect and intriguing so I am constantly researching this one.

If you could collaborate with one author who would it be?  Wow hard choice; Laurell K Hamilton.

Coffee, tea or other drink to get you moving in the morning? Coffee! Lots of it, With sweet n low and a flavored creamer

What is coming up from you in 2013? Love Bites ~ First Bite will be released this fall I hope! I am subbing at least one WIP’s to a publishing house, hoping that perhaps I will  start next year of with several releases. Anything you want to tease us with? I enclosed  a blurb and excerpt of Love Bites.

Anything else you want to add?
I love making new friends  I can be found lurking on facebook https://www.facebook.com/cathy.brockman1

Merah's life has turned upside down and eternity is a long time. Has Nicolas bitten off more than he can chew?

Teaser Excerpt:

Merah

It’s eighty-six degrees yet it feels like a hundred. I’m already sweating profusely, and my hair is plastered to my face. Why on earth did I choose an outside table? Even if my bluff fails, he isn’t going to kill me in a crowded restaurant. He isn’t going to kill me anyhow.  I bet a prominent man like Nicholas Mason has an army of henchmen to do his dirty work for him.
I should have told Reggie what I was planning. Not only is he my photographer when I need one, he’s also my best friend and roommate. He would probably say something snide like, ‘Merah, when the chick in the movie says, “I know who you are and I saw what you did,” things don’t go too well for her. What makes you think it will work for you?”  As if that thought summoned him, my phone rings. I consider not answering it but decide I wouldn’t look as out of place if I were talking on the phone instead of sitting and staring at everyone the way I have been for the last ten minutes.
“Hey Reg. What’s up?”  Sometimes he is worse than a babysitter, always checking up on me to see where I am and why I am not at my desk.
“I am meeting someone for an interview in the city.” Like that will satisfy him.
“So you’re at a funeral parlor? Tell me, how do you interview a dead guy?”  He asks snidely.
“I’m not working on the obituary column, doofuss. This isn’t for my obituaries column;  I’m doing this for the New Yorker in the News show. The producers told me if I can get this person to come on I can get a permanent spot. This could be my big break.”
